Hey Pokemon Champions, what's going on?! It's Champion Blaze here and back in generation 1 of pokemon it was said that Mewtwo was the world's strongest pokemon. At the time, that was completely true. With only 151 pokemon only 5 were legendary, technically 1 being Mythical and Mewtwo had no rival other than Mew. But since then, 8 generations later, many more legendary pokemon have been discovered and many more pokemon could now be considered the world's strongest pokemon. But today we'll discuss why I believe Mewtwo is STILL the world's strongest pokemon even after all this time.

Something notable about Mew is that it can perfectly transform into other legendarys and not just normal pokemon, even somehow transform into both Kyogre and Groudon at the same time. Meaning it's power is at least equal but likely greater than those legendary. It also easily defeated two Urshifus at the same time.
We've also seen what an enraged Arceus bent on destroying humanity is capable of, and his destructive power is nowhere near as powerful as what some people want him to be. He was going around destroying small building and things of that level.
When Mewtwo first arrived in the games its stats and movepool were far above that of any normal pokemon, including the strongest ones. The creators of the show wanted to show that he's the strongest, even the anime they made sure to showcase just how powerful he is. Arceus is said to be the creator of all pokemon but in the games as well as the anime it was never the strongest, this proves that Mewtwo was meant to be the strongest pokemon ever but as the creators wanted more money obviously they had to create new '' stronger '' pokemon. Seriously, just look at how strong Mewtwo was in the game when it came out as well as the anime, it's the strongest pokemon and reigns supreme to this day.

Mewtwo wasn't manifesting those weird pokeballs out of thin air. He teleported them.
Okay… teleported them from where? These poke balls don’t appear anywhere else. And if he teleported them Mewtwo still had to make them.
@@ChampionBlaze It's definitely highly possible he made them, but I don't think he made them out of thin air.
There are two options I can think of:
1. He made them before hand and teleported them from somewhere in the castle
2. they were made by the scientists who made him and he teleported them from somewhere in the castle.
of course, I could be wrong. he could of made them out of his own Psychic energy. Though that still wouldn't be matter construction. just energy conversion. Matter Construction is a truly OP skill that breaks the laws of universe, and only Arceus and the Unown are currently known to be capable of it
You touch on an interesting point not discussed enough by fans. The human component. To my knowledge Mewtwo is one of very few if not the only legendary that has been shown to have logic and reasoning. Maybe you can make a case for Lugia and others that managed to speak. However Mewtwo displayed an ability to create, to reason, and to have a consciousness.
Anyone familiar with Planet of the Apes can grasp the concept of the question. What happens if you take a being that has abilities and adaptations superior to that of humans and you give them the power of consciousness? You have a being that can take over the world. Now imagine that concept on a being with telekinesis and telepathic abilities?
There hasn’t been too many Pokémon that I’m aware of that have displayed consciousness and imagination. The very nature of what makes humanity so powerful in the first place.
Mewtwo can probably out wit most of the more animalistic Pokémon Rayquaza, Palkia, Dialga, Reshiram etc.
The only exception is maybe Lugia who in Pokémon 2000 was able to communicate but idk if that’s cannon or if it was actual consciousness. Perhaps it was just psychic ability allowing it to understand human speech.

It would more so be making sure that the Earth continues to exist normally with no alterations in its gravity or anything like that. Palkia doesn’t necessarily “rule” earth

Of course Mewtwo is still the strongest. Always will be. When you combine the DNA of Mew - the real ancestor of ALL Pokemon, with that of a human, you created a monster.

Mewtwo from movie 1 and mewtwo return is shown to be much stronger that mewtwo in Genesect movie. Mewtwo didn't budge and simply deflect flamethrower from charizard and hyperbeam from gyarados. Mewtwo can create and controlled the weather shown in movie 1 and mewtwo return, only legendary with weather effect can do the same (Lugia and kyogre?) and mewtwo even caught ash and company when they felled from the cliff inside the bus and mewtwo simply caught them using his psychic power thru a tv? What a feat. Mewtwo can even erase memories and teleport mass amount of people and pokemon and even a whole spring water pool inside the mountain in mewtwo return. Mewtwo in genesect movie was so so in base and mega y was ok but doesn't seem strong enough and it's a completely different mewtwo. Well this is my opinion and base in the movie not games.

Its great to see the one point brought up that most really overlook the fact that Mewtwo has the ability to block the abilities of others. Though its only talked about once this means mewtwo can still fight with its own abilities while the foe is rendered powerless. Excellent video!!!

Arceus, the strongest pokemon of all who can become any time, or all types at once. But only when he's holding an entire pile of held items simultaneously. What could Mewtwo do if we gave him his pick of like 18 items to carry into the fight?
Arceus, the strongest pokemon of all, that created the universe. And is thus equal to a 7 year old child named Molly who did the same using the same method that arceus uses. Calling up the Unown and asking for a favor.
Arceus. The deity who almost dies as a result of face tanking a meteor. While at full power and with all of his plates. The same feat that Rayquaza does casually as part of it's literal breakfast.
I always felt like Mewtwo X and Mewtwo Y was just Mewtwo choosing what DNA he wanted to use more. So Mewtwo X is when he goas more in to the Human side of his DNA and Mewtwo Y is when he uses more of his Mew/pokemon side of the DNA.
Mewtwo stats are second only to Arceus. Literal Pokemon God.
Mewtwo's Stats are 680BST, that isn't even Top 5.
He's outclassed by like 13 mons (Legendaries, Mythicals) and some other Megas
Only Mega Mewtwo X/Y breaks into 2nd Place tied with Mega Ray, but Mega Ray is still a waaaaaay better mon than both M2 X/Y.

in terms of stats, there are a few legendaries that are stronger.
Black Kyurem (700)
White Kyurem (700)
Complete Zygarde (708)
Eternatus (690)
Stellar Terapogos (700)
Crowned Zacian (700)
Crowned Zamzenta (700)
And of course Arceus is the strongest in terms of overall BST (Barring Mega Evolutions which get a 100 BST increase or special Gimmicks like Ultra Necrozma (754) and Eternamax Eternatus (1125))
But there are a few Legendaries that are stronger just because of their abilities or gimmicks, like Miraidon. thing is just broken in competitive battles right now. both in singles and in doubles.
the problem with the Mega Mewtwos and why they're considered weaker than Mega Rayquaza (even though all three share the highest BST obtainable by a trainer (780)) is that they can't hold an item since they have to hold their mega stones, where Mega Rayquaza can. the presence of an item can make all the difference in a battle.

i feel like mew is still stronger than mewtwo. when they duelled mew seemed to be playing around and only copied mewtwos moves, yes i know that mewtwo can mega evolve now and also mastered his powers but mew has the power of every single pokemon in existence mewtwo does not have all of mews also mews intelligence is very high mew could just change its type to get a constant advantage in the fight against mewtwo. also u mentioned that he was controlling the weather and materialising pokeballs from nothing well that power should have come from mew he also was seen reversing time so that whould mean that he and mew can both reverse time
Just because Mewtwo can do something doesn’t mean Mew can. Also, Mew has never been show to be capable of changing its type. Yes it can use any move it wants, but it can’t change its type at will. And while Mew was playing around at first, it did get serious in that battle and they were shown to be an even match at that point

So does maybe due to Mewtwo DNA having mews DNA Mewtwo can use other legendary abilities. In movie one recreating the lab using Dialgas time power, creating the storm using Lugia or Kyogre, and maybe even creating poke balls using arcus powers
I mean it’s possible, but no official appearance of Mew shows it capable of manipulating the powers of other legendaries. Only on a small scale like using Every single known move to use water and ground attacks like kyogre and Groudon.

Well that would nullify Mewtwo’s pressure ability. “Ability” in the movie refers to their elemental powers not in game abilities which is different
23:08 Interesting fact about this scene is that, in Japanese, Mewtwo states "Fine. We'll find out which ones are stronger with our attacks. We're the stronger ones!" which makes this scene have a very different context fromt he 4kids dub where he says "I will block all the pokemon's special abilities using my psychic powers."
Mewtwo was replying to Mew after Mew stated "The real ones are real. No matter how much you attack and clash against us, the real ones won't lose to copies!" instead of what he was saying in the original dub. Mew was essentially trying to eliminate Mewtwo and the clones he made.

@@ChampionBlaze It is. I was so caught off guard when I saw this. And all it took was a 10 year old jumping in between their attacks, essentially dieing, and being revived by both real and clones that showed both Mew and Mewtwo were in the wrong.
@@ChampionBlaze I know the original version is different, Mew actually wants to kill Mewrtwo there, but I would say don't worry about it much, the version everyone likes, accepts as canon is the US release, the original version is not even that good, and I think even the 3D remake is a remake of the US version, (I would have to confirm this), so in canon Mewtwo can block special abilities from other Pokemons, everything good in that aspect.
But how can mewtwo be powerful than ultra necrozma and arceus? I haven’t see the video but in the manga ultra necrozma is the LIGHT of all dimensions and universe while arceus has so many stuff I can’t even count
Because Mewtwo might also possess some of their power. Mew contains the genes of all known Pokémon in existence. Mewtwo was made with Mew’s genes plus human ingenuity. Mewtwo has a lot of crazy powers so I have no doubt it could stand up to legendary Pokémon like them.

Nah, Mewtwo gets dogpiled by a lot of the busted Mega forms, and even its own mega forms are usually ignored for mons like Mawile, Lucario or even Salamance, and were completely invalidated when Mega Rayquaza was introduced. From an anime and manga standpoint I think Zygarde is far more impressive. In the manga, Red was able to capture Mewtwo with six of his regular mons and had a hard time against Deoxys, but it took 6 megas to stand up to Zygarde. Mewtwo gets bullied by most mons in competitive play. Its not a bad one, but it was only the strongest in Gen 1 and Gen 2. Kyogre has always been the definitive strongest mon when it came to VGC legendaries, and I think it was the king of competitive even when Kyurem White was around in Gen 5. I'm not saying its bad, but Mewtwo was never a centralizing force past gen 2. Past Gen 3, you had Dialga and Palkia doing much better things with their superior typing and stat distribution. Mewtwo has always been Uber because its stat spread is base 680, but it has been outclassed hard by modern legendaries. Miraidon, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde 100%, Zacian, Crowned(even regular form outclasses it hard due to intrepid sword), hell even mythicals like Marshadow, and Urshifu(which let me remind you, has a BST of 550)were far bigger threats. In the modern Ubers format of Gen 9, sure, Mewtwo is fine, but it won't win you games by itself. The only reason we don't have more Mega legendary mons or mythical legendaries like Diance is because pokemon stopped Mega Evolution from existing past gen 7, and Mega Mewtwo was always outclassed by Rayquaza when Mega Evolution existed.

Mewtwo and mew weren't equal in strength mewtwo fought mew without using any of his powers he attained from being a hybrid and limited the powers of all the other clones ss well so he basically made every clone including himself power down to fight the original on equal footing rewatch the movie my guy
Mew and Mewtwo were clearly shown to be equal because neither one gained an upper hand tbe entire time. It can be argued Mewtwo is stronger simply for the fact his clones were stronger.

He's not the the stronger in Lore, and isn't the strongest in Games either (except for the RBY games). Gets severely outclassed by a bunch of mons in both categories.

Not really, Dexoys was the one that was folding Mewtwo lamo. It wasn't until Red cheated that Mewtwo was able to gain the upper hand and beat Dexoys

Mewto is still weak in comparison to Mew as Mewto have only strong physic powers no any other power or attacks.
It dosen't have extraordinary capabilities and powers like Mew for example transforming itself into any other pokemon or copying moves, teleportation, invisibility or time control etc.
Yet it can brainwash and control people like it did to nurse Joy in the movie and erased her memories of what she did while working under him. It also erased Giovanni and all his mens minds when they attacked that lake with the special water that healed all wounds. That is in the Pokémon: Mewtwo Returns, a is a special episode of the Pokémon anime series and a direct sequel to Pokémon: The First Movie (1998). Not to mention he created a whole army of genetically superior clone pokemon and we all saw how Mewtwo's cloned Charizard, Venasaur and Blastoise just one shot the others. It also completely teleported that special lake to another location which is just insane if you think about that. In fact i wonder if you even watched the movie (I'm referring back to the first Mewtwo movie.) Because he created pokeballs that could capture trainers pokemon even if the pokemon were inside the pokeballs. Not only that but he stopped a Rhyhorn and made it float helplessly in the air when it charged at him. Used the water in front of him to block Charizards flamethrower and easily blocked Gyarados's hyper beam and sent it right back at it and knocked it out. And... you say he is weaker to mew just because he can't teleport, be a copy cat, have invisibility or time control? Sure I'll agree with the time control but those other powers you mentioned? compared to what i've just said are nothing. Why would he need to teleport or go invisible when he can just control minds which is easily enslaving pokemon and humans. And why teleport when Mewtwo can just just block strong moves like Hyper Beam and throw them right back using his mind? Hell he could just skip that whole step by just erasing their minds or controlling their minds... I don't think you realize how dangerous he really can be and with such an intellectual and ruthless mind as well.

And about weather controlling ability only Lugia and Kyorgre can control it too not sure if other legendary can too, but mewtwo psychic power is top lvl.
