“If a wound should touch you - there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allah may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs - and Allah does not like the wrongdoers” [Qur’an 3:140]
I’ve been watching a lot of these sorts of videos in recent months and I’m always in disbelief as to how these interactions are conducted, I don’t use the word conversation because most of the time neither party is actually listening to the other and neither party answers the questions posed by the other in a genuine matter. As such, I would like to correct some of the inaccuracies that Mr Zeeshan stated as well as ask some genuine questions. When Zeeshan is responding to the West Ham supporters comments about the Jews being indigenous to the land and being there before the Palestinians, Zeeshan states (08:56) “we can go back to the time of even the Philistines when we’ve got even grave markings, we’ve got evidences, archaeological evidences that there was such thing as a Palestine predating the Jews/Israelites .” This is an incorrect assertion. The Philistines were a group of people originating from Ancient Greece who left Greece around the end of the Bronze Age, which was in and around 1160BC, the Palestinians There are artifacts that have been found with referencing the Jews/Israelites that predate this transfer, such as the Merneptah Stele which dates back to 1208BC. My question to this is: Who are the Palestinians primarily descendants of? Secondly, when Zeeshan states (10:08) “30,000 of my brothers and sisters have passed away…” In what way are these people your brothers and sisters? I don’t know Zeeshan background, but if he’s talking about them being brothers and sisters in a sense of the Ummah, then this becomes a religious affiliation and therefore turns the argument into a religious one which is NOT the core of the issue. If he is stating it in relation to the Palestinians as an ethnicity I would like to know in what way is he Palestinian? This question is important to answer as it frames the whole debate in two different aspects. Zeeshan, not often but at times, resorts to logical fallacies. When he states (10:29) “if you look at the majority of the globe and who they are standing with, majority of the planet is standing in line with the Palestinians….” He did not finish this train of thought so I am left to speculate what he was going to say, but I’ve heard this line from others of his ideological ilk, so I will he was going this is simply a textbook example of the Ad Populum Fallacy. For those reading that aren’t familiar with that term, simply put, just because the majority believe something does not make it true, if the majority of the planet is Christian, does this make Christianity the one true religion? Thirdly, when talking about the death toll on either side, Zeeshan states “….30,000 people to 700 people, there’s a clear disparity…”. I have two problems with this statement, one being another logical fallacy and one which I think is far more sinister than it seems on its face. Let’s start with the obvious one. As upsetting as it is, death count does not denote morale blame. People bring up WW2 and the difference in casualties between the Germans and British. I don’t like this comparison purely because some people take it as comparing Israel to the British and the Palestinians to the Germans. So let’s have a thought experiment. Imagine Hamas were to go into Israel and target military zones and kill 1000 soldiers with 0 civilian casualties. At the same time Israel were to blow up a mosque with no military objective and they killed 50 civilians. Which action is more reprehensible in your eyes and why? Does one see how this is an inane argument. As for the more sinister issue, according to Agence France Presse, it found that 815 of the 1195 were civilian deaths. Human Rights Watch also states: “In cases in which Human Rights Watch received information about the cause of death, the evidence indicates that only a minority of civilian deaths resulted from fighting between Israeli armed forces and Palestinian armed groups, including by Israeli forces. Human Rights Watch did not find evidence to support the claim that the majority of the deaths were caused by heavy weapons only used by Israeli forces and not by Palestinian armed groups.” Now 700 is close to 815 so we can give Zeeshan the benefit of the doubt, what troubles me is why is Zeeshan purposely comparing the number of Israeli civilian deaths to the total amount of deaths suffered in Gaza? I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt so I will assume it is because these numbers are, understandably, hard to ascertain. This being said, I do think it is intellectually lazy to make this comparison. We will only truly know the figures when this awful situation please god comes to a close. I believe this conflict truly comes down to one statement that you will hear both sides yell: “This is my land!” So whose land is it? Do we agree that the Palestinian people have an ethnic and religious tie to this land? Well, I think we all should! Do we agree that the Jewish people have an ethnic and religious tie to this land? Well, I think we all should! So whose land is it? I think it belongs to both. So what is the problem and what is the solution. Zeeshan claims simply “Remove the US veto power and the countries will make a deal.” This might be one of the most naive statements of ever uttered. He claims that Israeli officials do not even want to entertain the idea of a two state solution. This is true. What he fails to state is that the Palestinians don’t want to entertain the idea of a two state solution either. According to Gallop polls, in 2012, 61% of Israelis were in favour of a two state solution. That number now sits at 25%. Any wonder why? According to Gallop polls, in 2012, Palestinian support for a two state solution sat at 59%. It now sits at 24%. Any wonder why? Did the civil rights act happen in America and then people became less racist or did people become less racist and then the civil rights act come to pass. The fact of the matter is, you cannot force/legislate people to love, trust, tolerate or accept others. We are getting to that peace in the region that we all want, slower than any of us wish and with such great pain and with so many unfortunate casualties. Yet I still believe there will be peace in the region for both groups. After all, is not hope and faith that tarries life’s longing for itself. If you read the entirety of this message, or even if you didn’t, I hope that life finds you well. If you agree/disagree with either of these two statements or anything else that I have written, I would love to engage with this community and respond to your statements or questions.

no alot of zionists make that claim not just him, they say when the jews & british arrived they imported cheap labour from nearby arab countries, there is a kernel of truth in it but is mostly bs, every year temp workers would come in but it was a very small number.
