I am from Bangalore, India and I moved to Melbourne, Australia to do my Masters with a huge loan on my head. I was literally struggling to make ends meet with part time jobs and was going hungry many times. One of my Punjabi friends told me that I can go and have Langar at the Cragieburn Gurudwara as they serve food every day of the year. I have never been so thankful in my life. The Sikh community is so generous and this helped me learn some valuable life lessons. Now that I have settled down, I donate to the Gurudwara and help wash dishes or serve langar when I can. I hope to do much more. I sincerely cannot express in words how thankful I am.
Ajay Achar that's how the circle was designed by Gurus and dats how it goes on... u take it wen u need and u put back wen u can... no pressure no ties only love...
***** good to hear that.If you feel that the money you put in donation box will not be used appropriately for welfare of society or whatever, i can suggest you one more impressive way to get God's grace & morever it will satisfy your heart . Try to give the money to the poor and needy( like here in India there are so many poor people) . You can give them clothes , food items, anything from which they can get benifit.
I was there and I felt a bit proud that I was a sikh because I am 16 years old and to be fairly honest, I didn't know much about sikhi, but when I was standing there, I felt blessed & was standing for a good hour. I watch your videos & I truly felt honoured to see Mr. Jagrat singh explaining what sikhism is and not saying why other religions are bad. Whilst I was there, my knowledge of Sikhism had exceed by a milestone. I really wanted to ask some questions but I felt quite embarrassed that I didn't know about my religion and there were quite a lot of people standing.
Sikhi is all about learning my friend. No one in sikhi will ridicule or make fun of you for not knowing about sikhi or our history, its not something to be ashamed of. What we must try to do is start learning from whenever we realised our mistake.
...nothing but respect is given to you my friend..and how sad are some people for disliking this video..it's people like these that we don't need in our society..total failure in compassion...you can only but love the Sikhs for the real good that they are..much respect and a brothers love to you all...✌❤
Respect for all your efforts to put the word out there about Sikhi and respect for you too Jagraj Singh ji, for making all these amazing videos and sharing so much knowledge. May u be in chardi kallah.
Hats off to you Veerji. Unbelievable, incredible prachaar. I would do ardaas that basics of Sikhi shall spread to all corners of the world. WJKK WJKF :)
I love how when you started talking about fighting hunger and helping people at 0:48 the two Muslims in the back left. I don't know why but I find that funny.
I think because at Hyde park is all about debating and the brother was speaking the truth so I think my fellow Muslims are their to debate those who are spreading lies or some of them like to debate the christian missionary's but only god know
X cabar I realize that it was probably a coincidence that you left when you did in the video, but it doesn't take away from the fact that it is pretty funny. Also you shouldn't be only focusing on talking about your religion. Just because someone isn't speaking for or against your religion doesn't mean you shouldn't listen to what they have to say. Sometimes you can learn more about other's beliefs through listening and not speaking.
Inderjit Singh bro I am Muslim and what the Sikhs do for langar is amazing and the idea of free food is amazing and that everyone in the gurdwara is equal no one is better than anyone. The Muslim at 0.48 does not represent all the Muslims just to clarify.
+Anish K Just a guy trying to be a better Sikh and spread Guru's wisdom. There are hundreds of videos on this youtube channel explaining Gurbani, course for Sikh history and also like this one, speaking to people on the street.

I request you guys to come to Melbourne and other states in Australia because here, most of the people don't know if a religion such as Sikhism even exists.
By the flow of time they will as they did here, we need more Street Parchars likes this maybe then the flow of time will be quicker then sooner and yeah great work *******Basics of Sikhi Team******
+G Holy The only thing humans are bound to, is "time" and it's passing at a very fast rate and if we do not make an effort towards our goals then who knows, maybe tomorrow there will not be anybody to fulfill what could have done if we didn't wait for time to play is course.
@Swedish Meatball Yes its Veggie thing actually , Sikhs who wish to go to Highest spiritual level leave eating Meat ...And Langar cant have meat as it would pollute divine atmosphere of our Holy place
Gurudwaras are doing great service to hungry masses.at the time of the last supper Jesus shared food with his disciples and asked to do it in his memory.the Sikhs are following this teachings.God bless them.
The concept of langar which was designed to be upheld among all people, regardless of religion, caste, colour, creed, age, gender, or social status-was an innovative charity and symbol of equality introduced by the Hindu religion king Chandragupta Maurya in early 4th century (also called Bhandara in Hinduism) later on the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak around 1500 CE got influenced by this and start doing this practice in North Indian state of Punjab. The roots of such community kitchen institutions and volunteer-run charitable feeding is very old in Sikh traditions; the Chinese Buddhist pilgrim Ching (7th century CE) wrote about monasteries with such volunteer-run kitchens. A related concept emerged from the practices of, Faruddin Ganjshara Sufi saint living in the Punjab region during the 13th century, who would redistribute sweets his visitors would bring to his khalifas and common devotees. This concept developed, over time, into langar-khana near his shrine, a practice documented in Jawahir al-Faridi compiled in 1623 CE. "Satnam Shree Waheguruji".
Great parchar Veerji, VGKK VGKF!!!, but I feel we need to abandon the milk industry for it is identical to meat and slaughterhouse industry totally against Sikhis first principle of daya, in the dairy industry cows are forced to think they are perennially pregnant with chemicals so they stay stressed and keep producing milk, calves from this industry go to the veal industry. I even remember a shabad that said the milk first right is of the calf, maybe if one has a barn with their own animals and cow has some left over milk since they make a lot naturally when pregnant we can use, but man is the only one drinking milk till old age, and look at how many milk products out there, ice cream chocolates mithai baking list goes on that will tell us how bad cows and all are being treated, billions of animals as assets on a balance sheet is definitely against Hukam I'd say. Also elephants ox horses rhino so strong and muscular are vegans. And I'd also like to add our true food is the food for the mind, sache Naam kee lage bhook, if mind is connected to Naad and One with Vaahiguroo that's the best food for us, bhool chuk maaf karni VGKK VGKF!!!
Maytag has taught me very much.. Not just basics of Sikhism. Only when restrictive does the philosophy 'go astray' of Waheguru s intention. Someone maybe even gurus erred e.g. when they say sex only between a husband and wife who must be man and woman.. That discriminates and Nanak would not teach that imo. I do Love Jagrat and his great seva
