@@spaceghostcqc2137 I really hope 'the metaverse" does not happen. I believe it will be detrimental to the true physical world we actually exist in. There is too much online not enough offline in our lives. Why do you think we are having so many problems in society? the 'metaverse' will become the ruin of everything.
Everyone focuses on what Blender does great, so I'll throw in the things it doesn't do well on. I've been a Blender user since NaN (Not A Number), and Blender still struggles with multithreading everywhere, a good example of this would be the Video editor, it can be fast if you just do basic editing, but it falls between a rock and a hard place the minute you start using various transitions, effects and things you'd normally use. This is due to some effetcs not fully multithreaded and adding these can increase rendertime from just a minute to several hours on an extremely powerful platform. The same things goes for rigging that has angle solving issues and can grind Blender to a halt if you get into certain angle issues. This is still an issue today a decade later. The one thing I use Blender more and more for - is realtime environments, meaning I like to animate and model in real-time. This is kind of like using actual Rendering less and less, and just using the Eevee environment more and more to instantly see and work with changes and progression as it moves along. The multithread issues not being present everywhere causes severe slowdowns here, and breaks the whole idea of real-time-rendering. My biggest hope for Blender is that it goes more and more in the direction of fixing this and improving on real time rendering work.
Thanks for the in-depth comment! Yeah Blender has it’s issues. I guess people just love it because at a basic level it does everything pretty well and it’s free. For hardcore purposes it can fall short opposed to other software that’s specialized obcipusly!

Looking at how badly Zuck misjudged his Metaverse project and Meta’s subsequent collapse, I’m honestly surprised to see anyone still talking about it as something that’s pressing or relevant. It already existed in many forms for decades.
I agree it’s not coming in Zuck’s preferred pace. But I do believe it’s coming. Meaning more and more 3D assets will be required. Higher quality for better immersion etc. So just the idea of it coming puts pressure on 3D as a whole to develop faster. Which is a good thing I think!
That Zucks Metaverse failed is because he is obviously not aware of any of these amazing tools existing today for building 3D environments. Not Blender, not Maya, and also not Unity or Unreal Engine. One thing I'm in doubt about recently is, will AI affect the 3D industry? Like we're hearing AI will replace a lot of stuff... so will blender be required more or less?
That's a difficult question to answer honestly. But my 2 cents on it is that some tasks will be automated by AI, however a human component will always be either necessary or desirable. I see AI more as an opportunity to maybe save me time and workload with things I don't want to be fussed with anyways. Atleast that's what I hope it to be eventually!
"VR/AR tech" I have always wanted to have a VR environment for software like Blender, people already do such amazing things in programs like OpenBrush I feel like being INSIDE of blender would bring a whole new perspective to the what we can accomplish.
That's great! Hopefully the future will bring Blender and maybe some others aswell. I think tablets are perfect for sculpting and stuff like grease pencil!
Thanks for the video, though some feedback: You should really fix that huge reflection issue for your mic. Maybe hang up a thick curtain behind you. The triangle foam is for higher frequencies - the bass freq needs way more mass to be absorbed.
I want to start my blender or 3D journey and next year I'm going college which means I won't always be home. So my question is from your perspective what do you think have the power and will work for me, a custom build home desktop or a laptop and if it's laptop (should I go for gaming PC or which kind) I will really appreciate your feedback
I can't believe you didn't include Blender Bob's VFX talk, one of the most important, due to the importance of Blender making its way into the VFX industry,
@@KaizenTutorials Nothing major, just a quick test of a deforming or "bubbling" plane...had to get the idea out of my head. Didn't save it, either, lol.
Haha I completely understand. Something pops up, you test it. You like it or you dont. Doesnt really matter anyway, just neeeded to get it out of your system!
I’ve been waiting for somebody to combine blender to a game map editor. In other words make it easier to create worlds and environments by drag and drop. As it is now you have to create everything inside blender. My biggest problem when I made an animation was rigging the very intricate problems that popped up was annoying as hell. I would love to be able to just grab a pre-rig character and drop it into an environment and point and click where I need it to go
I would like to add one more to your list of "things blender is used for" ....imho it is one step from the best 3d printing design tool. It lacks perfect "cad-like addon" but even at this point it is awesome. It is anarchy compared to fusion360 (and tools like that) and it allows you to mess up much easier, BUT after a while you are waaaaaaay more productive
Blender with a proper parametric modelling engine and UX of Fusion (or even Shapr3d in terms of accessibility) would change industrial design for good. Sort of how Fusion360 did by being so free with its licensing at the start and then Autodesk did the rugpull, as it is always the case with proprietary tools. I wouldn't be comfortable switching to Blender right now, but I'll definitely pick it up when I start doing more free-form modelling.
@@TheCyberSpidey i think parametric design is overrated for most cases ...dont get me wrong, i love it, but when what you wanna do is create hook for keys next to door, you get it done so much easier with "manual labor" of blender. Then when you think you gonna change it a lot later and for some reason it would be hard to change (very very rare case in my experience) you have options. You can write python script (approach i prefer as a programmer) or use geometric nodes (which is basically the same but much harder to read once it gets complex, subjective opinion tho) Having this CAD params middleground would be nice addition that i would very rarely use but would love to have that option when really needed.
Yeah so they're making Blenderapps, which will be smaller, specialized standalone apps. Although they didn't confirm that they're coming to mobile, they also didn;t deny it. So if that's the case we can create standalone apps for mobile devices. E.g. only greasepencil on mobile devices. Not complete blender, just parts which you need!
It has a shader node based material editor, if that's what you mean. If you mean full blown texture paint like features such as Substance, then no it doens't have that!
One thing I wish blender could do is handle NURBS models. I mainly use it for quickly modifying Product models and rendering them or animating them. but the transition from NURBS to Mesh is rough and I haven't found a good solution yet
I can understand that! It's always hard having to do a different workflow than the one you like best. There is some NURBS stuff in Blender, but I've never seen anyone use it and it doesn't seem like a full fledged feature.
WOW! Thanks for your vlog! Gosh! I have subscribed! Here's a question that I am sure you must get asked every once in awhile... Here goes... How do I - as a total newbie - get started with Blender? I have never used it before. I have always been interested in 3D, and I think it is time to take the plunge. What kind of PC spec am I looking at? I am looking to get an AMD Ryzen 7 based PC. I am on a budget... Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
No problem! Thanks for subscribing. Getting started you indeed need a decent PC! If you go to my precious video I’ve got all the parts that im currently using listed. It’s black friday sale on amazon now so a good time to buy parts! A ryzen 7 based pc is perfect and mainly invest in a decent GPU! I’d advice a rtx 20 series or better. Then with your new PC getting started with Blender is just a matter of downloading and installing, finding your favorite tutorials and trying to follow along as best as possible. Do take tutorials like knowledge though, don’t just blindly follow them. Try to learn the techniques shown and dont be scared to deviate from the given visual topic to apply the knowledge to your own designs! Now it’s a matter of practice and putting in the hours! Keep at it and I’m 100% sure you’ll become great at 3D.
@@nycgweed I prefer PCs as they are more expandable, and I have loads of applications for it that aren't on the Mac. If I had invested into the Apple ecosystem, I probably would have gotten a Mac. Thanks for your suggestion. 🙂
You're welcome! Hmm, well I'd say the biggest difference is a cretor is a broader term. As a UA-camr I'm also a creator. An artist is more a person who truly creates an artistic impression of something. Wether in real life or in 3D. A creator is someone who makes things, which do not necessarily have to be artistic!
@@KaizenTutorials Thank you for reply. It is not big difference how I understand that feel of art is a key. Also it may be harder to create personality uniqueness on 3DCG than traditional handmade stuff.
i want to see one day a utility model design cad type toll in blender orginally supported by blender... one software for evrything in moddelling, it is not beautiful?
Well yes. It's probably not necessarily going to be the ones which are very popular now, but yes everything in the Extensions Platform will be 100% FREE. And there's also people who will create new addons specifically for the Extensions Platform, also free. So very cool stuff!
Blender is a fantastic program, but the really need to employ a lot more devs. It still has terrible performance issues and is far from industry ready for lots of fields. This should be of paramount dev importance. Also, the sculpt mode could do with another 2 devs and a direction. It's a decent enough sculpting environment for a DCC, but still lacking in UX and suffering from the same performance issues.
It's not a huge company and I'm not sure it will ever be. I think keeping it small makes it concentrated in it's efforts. And yes that means some parts will lag behind others sometimes!
@@KaizenTutorials Yes, it's still a relatively small company and that is a good thing, but surely they have enough funding now to employ more devs. They are doing fantastic work with the team they have, but I still feel that they need more resources to bring it to the next level. In comparison, 3dsMax has 100 devs, plus extra on the Arnold and Bifrost teams. 😁
7:00 something just occurred to me when I watched this. Is it possible to create a 3d matrix of kit-bashing parts and address those objects by the matrix using XYZ to RGB to create new ships with custom uv maps?
Oof that's a good question. And yes it might very well be possible. By instancing all the objects on a grid you could technically then instance single 'points' from that grid. Effectively instancing parts. But I've never tried it and am not 100% sure that will work.
@@KaizenTutorials my thought would be like an inner asset library addressed internally with XYZ or RGB from 0 to 1 (0 to 255)^3 for a literal 16 million pieces. To access easily. Ok, I'm gonna try to get this started. Where my damn python book?
This is my first non tutorial style video. Hope you can appreciate this different style of content on the channel! Might do more in the future.

pretty intereting
thanks
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
and know I'll have to watch all the talks 😂 great video
Thanks! Yeah there's so much to see and learn, amazing!
Love ur vids
Thanks! 🙏🏻
Atleast that's what I hope it to be eventually!
you are like may fav one now
Awh thank you! 🖤
"VR/AR tech" I have always wanted to have a VR environment for software like Blender, people already do such amazing things in programs like OpenBrush I feel like being INSIDE of blender would bring a whole new perspective to the what we can accomplish.
Would be cool, for sure!
I am happy for the apps. I have nomad because there was none. 👍🏼
Yeah I need to get more stuff in the room, and maybe get a different type of mic better suited for this space.
Daniel Bystedt = Donna Biscuits...
🤣🤣🤣
lol yeah 😂
Bring blender to ipad!!! They dont have to bring all the tools if its not possible.
Hopefully soon!
I want to start my blender or 3D journey and next year I'm going college which means I won't always be home. So my question is from your perspective what do you think have the power and will work for me, a custom build home desktop or a laptop and if it's laptop (should I go for gaming PC or which kind)
I will really appreciate your feedback
I replied to your other comment!
@@KaizenTutorials Thanks 👍
Blender is the best!
Yessss 🙏
I can't believe you didn't include Blender Bob's VFX talk, one of the most important, due to the importance of Blender making its way into the VFX industry,
Sorry! It was a fascinating talk for sure. Just not one of my favorites. But then again I’m not a company in the VFX scene ;-)
"...you're probably aching to get started..." Yeah, I started while you were talking, lol.
Haha nice! What are you making? 🤗
Fuck yes this is the blender year I’m locking in full mastery. Iv been using blender since March last year no more Maya or 3ds max. Full on Blender.
Niiiice! 💪💪
I’ve been waiting for somebody to combine blender to a game map editor. In other words make it easier to create worlds and environments by drag and drop. As it is now you have to create everything inside blender. My biggest problem when I made an animation was rigging the very intricate problems that popped up was annoying as hell. I would love to be able to just grab a pre-rig character and drop it into an environment and point and click where I need it to go
Well I don't know about the environment stuff. But they are working on a default rig library, which should make rigging a LOT easier.
Wow spaceships are sci fi style
Yeah cool right?!
Thanks for sharing! Didn't know people really did 3D printing stuff in Blender. Good to know!
You can write python script (approach i prefer as a programmer) or use geometric nodes (which is basically the same but much harder to read once it gets complex, subjective opinion tho)
Having this CAD params middleground would be nice addition that i would very rarely use but would love to have that option when really needed.
@@TheCyberSpidey I'm pretty sure there is a cad modelling addon being worked on called cad sketcher, it looks promising.
You blew my life.
Haha is that a good thing?
could you breakdown Emilis's Presentation?? may be a tutorial.
Maybe! Not sure if there’s enough there to break down. 🙌🏻
Why isn’t there a mobile Blender app for iPad yet? I wonder if there is any plan to make it happen soon
@@KaizenTutorials oh got it! Thank you for the answer ^^
Does it have material editor finaly? You know, feature that is industry standard everywhere.
It has a shader node based material editor, if that's what you mean. If you mean full blown texture paint like features such as Substance, then no it doens't have that!
I really like the Idea having Blender on my Ipad
Makes that 2
One thing I wish blender could do is handle NURBS models.
Mac?😊
@@KaizenTutorials Thank you! Much appreciated! All the best!
@@nycgweed I prefer PCs as they are more expandable, and I have loads of applications for it that aren't on the Mac. If I had invested into the Apple ecosystem, I probably would have gotten a Mac.
Thanks for your suggestion. 🙂
Thank you for reporting. While explain in this video I was wondering to define how difference between “artist” and “creator”?
It would be good to have Blender as a one-stop-shop for everythign 3D for sure!
how do these guys survive and manage to make money.. this is crazy
Ton is a genius
Donations! That's it, people and companies supporting Blender. You can to, if you want to on their website :-)
Blender is the future in my small opinion if you write good stories learn Blender.
Blender needs to do a branch of image editors and vectors and publishing, just to set a healthy rivalry against adobe.
Haha a FREE alternative to Adobe 💪🏻
Do review the sound editing for a next video. There is a lot of high 'clicking' on the R's
Yeah sorry, can’t seem to get decent audio from my mic. Might get a new one soon.
I’m just waiting to be able to use blender on a tablet like the Samsung S8
Would be so cool!
@@KaizenTutorials yea it would. Laptops get heavy after a while and it’s not very beach friendly :-) :-)
More freedom for artists
Absolutely and all that open source, for free! It's so amazing.
@@KaizenTutorials agreed 😊
META: wtf? WE ESPENT 15B$ for our 90s look and Blender Looks so much better, and some of them dont even get paid ! LOL
🤣
Will they still not have a lock ratios option in the render output?
Not that I know of
Wait what? Do we get the good addons choosen by blender for free then? 🤯
Well yes. It's probably not necessarily going to be the ones which are very popular now, but yes everything in the Extensions Platform will be 100% FREE. And there's also people who will create new addons specifically for the Extensions Platform, also free. So very cool stuff!
0:31 wow.😊
That is Ada Sokół, check out her talk for sure!
I guess they’ll keep on growing to make it better and better 💪🏻
I wish Blender 3D can make Hologram.
It can with the right shader. Or you don't mean that?
i am a simple man. i see polyfjord, i like the video.
Hahha nice! 💪🏻
Even I have watched them but faster speed
Lol
haha nice!
Hahaha nice one, good luck!
Heey! What about Blender Apps and Extensions Plataforms??
Well all of them are coming in the near future. They haven't given an exact date. But I'm expecting it to be somewhere in 2023, hopefully!
I tried. It kept crashing. Immediately after adding a cube.
Uhh that’s weird!
Blender the best
Yes it is!
Can you talk how Blender proceduralism
Compare to Houdini Proceduralism???
I have 0 knowledge of Houdini, so I think I'm not the right person on comparing the two 😰
@@KaizenTutorials aaa well thanks for answer to my comment anyway :) keep doing these good videos
