I bought a brand new NuWave Elite with ALL the accessories at a Salvation Army store for $18. Worth about $200! I haven't used it yet so I'm watching all the videos I can... Thanks!
Fascinating! Being from the Chicago area, we are supposed to be THE pizza snobs. I have to tell you that Tombstones are sold by the thousands in local bars and grocery stores. I don't mind them after a couple of beers. BUT, I too embellish them with extra cheese, hot sauce of choice, pepper, garlic and oregano (and whatever else I happen to have lying around.). Cooking it upside down looked so weird but seemed to work out well. Thanks for another great video Dano!!!
Let's not have a NY slice vs Chicago style argument! LMAO !! (in good fun) But honestly for those that will eat these "pizzas" LOL the NuWave did a good job on it but it was so strange to do the upside down thing. lol All the best
This was an interesting experiment. I thought for sure it was going to be an upside down mess. I laughed so hard when you tried to fold it and it cracked! LOL
Thanks for the good advice on cooking and other stuff. Keeping the home base in case this should turn out bad but I doubt it. Got the itch & have to try it. Not having any luck finding a class B & thinking of buying a new dodge caravan this weekend and turn it into a camper van, quit my job & go before I’m too old. Or throw a tent, sleeping bag, bucket & stove in my car before I loose my mind!
Pleaase keep in mind the grain of salt thing. lol I'm just sharing thoughts and maybe something to consider... NEVER base a decision on my ramblings. :-) lol But I can relate to the "call of the road". :) I know it can be tough to find a good Class B... but they are out there. Best of luck
thanks Danno now I am craving some crappy frozen pizza lol Looks like the Nuwave did a pretty good job. I was skeptical on the whole cooking it upside down thing but worked out alright it seems.
It did much better than I thought it would. The upside down thing made me stop and read it twice! lol I apologize for causing a craving of a frozen pizza. lmao
Interesting. Took about the same time for it to cook in the oven. Pizza looked delicious to me (I've been on a no carb diet for the past 3 weeks, so everything looks great to me hahaha).
To be 100% honest... suffering from the New Yorker pizza snob problem I doubt I'd ever try. Almost positive it is beyond my limited skills and I'd only disappoint myself. :)
Hey now , hehehe better then none plus you said it yourself it was a cheep pizza , I'm just saying , hey make a home made one with it or those English muffin one's , it will be banging ! Ttyl Dan'O , Hey happy new year by the way 🐻
I know that other people go.. "yeah yeah NY pizza - shut up already". lol but it is a thing. My ex wife wasn't a NYer and actually preferred the delivery stuff over a pretty close NY slice that was by our house. so - on a "pizza night" i wouldn't say anything - let them order and I'd go get myself a couple "darn near slices". I guess it is what we are all used to. lol
I had my doubts when you put the silicon cover on the pizza and turned it upside down, but it looks like it came out ok. It does seem to be a lot of work for a frozen pizza. I have learned that I can go out to my local "New York Style" place and get a couple of giant slices of pizza that are much better than frozen and quite a bit cheaper.
I had HUGE doubts!! lol I only did it because the oven came with the stuff to do it. Spend a couple days looking at a pizza flipper and silicone thing and finally said OK let's see!! lol I can't even really do any of the delivery chains let alone a frozen one... it gives pizza a bad name! lol The last slice I've had was in Key West because it was... close. lol
Wander Dano I didn't have the luxury to grow up in a New York Italian family and I live in the south, so it is not real easy to find decent pizza. Sometimes close and convenient trumps everything else.
Like you I'm not a pizza fan at all especially a frozen one. I eat pizza less than ten times a year and it's always from Papa John's and always the BBQ Hawaiian Chicken specialty pizza. Pizza sauce tears me up like from Domino's and Pizza Hut. Papa John's is a BBQ sauce and my belly likes it. Even comes with pineapple on it plus I always get their garlic knots also. My oven didn't come with that fancy pizza cooker crap. If I was going to cook a pizza in it, I would use the shorter rack so the cheese and toppings aren't so close to the heat source and just cook it by eye. The heat will brown the crust if it has room to get around the pizza and bounce up off the bottom. The only time I use the tall rack is if I'm trying to air fry something or I just need it to cook quicker. You'll pick up the tricks to cooking this way. I've been doing it for twenty years with some sort of air cooker and have learned the tricks. Nothing beats homemade french fries cooked in one of these and you can play with the flavors to add on. Nice present to yourself, thanks for sharing my old friend.
Yeah - not a fan of them at all but spend a couple days looking at a pizza flipper and silicone thing and finally said OK let's see!! lol Being a New Yorker and admitted pizza snob I can't really even eat the delivery ones. I do think that overall for people that eat this kind of "pizza" this did a good job of cooking it. Thanks and all the best
lol.. I was raised at the jersey shore on thin crust pies and even in philly the pizza is a lot like NYC pizza, here in Florida...fagitaboutit! Dominos pizza slut hungry Howie, its getting better we actually had a Brooklyn style pizza shop open nearby. Tombstones are OK, just don't think of them as pizza, I add extra ingredients then slap 2 slices face to face. I have had tombstones curl in both the big oven and the convection toaster oven. My mom loves her nu wave, dad says its made her a better cook ( not in her hearing of course)
Yeah - nothing really compares to a real NYC slice. People don't like to hear it but - you either get it or you don't. lol I can't even really eat those delivery places. I will say tho that for those that like these --- the NuWave did a nice job cooking it. I like all my NuWaves.. lol they help me too! all the best
I guess you are trying this out for your RV because otherwise just putting into oven would be much easier! When we camp & want a simple fast meal, I grab a thin crust Wal-Mart pizza from their deli, put on pizza pan the kind with holes in it, sit it on the gas grill, close lid and in just a few minutes you have a nice grilled pizza, very tasty, no oven required. Be careful to check bottom frequently so it doesn't burn.
Yeah - it was mainly to test the oven and to see if it actually works cooking upside down ... and it did. I'm a huge pizza fan but being a New Yorker I can't really do the frozen stuff they call "pizza". lol
Interesting experiment - and the 'new wave' worked great.... I would eat the food you normally cook, a hundred times more than that upside down frozen pizza thing.... Cool vid though - and it kinda amplifies the message of why we should all do a bit more home cooking... Best wishes mate......J
The dome is less likely to Crack I've killed 3 nuwave using that holder thing, it rolls off and the top part never works again, dome fine not one crack.
Spend a couple days looking at a pizza flipper and silicone thing and finally said OK let's see!! lol For those that eat these "pizza" it did a good job!
LMAO !! Exactly!! I swear it is safe to say I've had less then 10 frozen pizzas in my entire life! I do not believe mine ever had one in her freezer. :)
Naaa, you have to preheat oven, takes forever, NUwave, turn on and done in NO time, oven get the house hot as hell in the summer, and uses way more electricity, unless you have gas oven, but still, way cheaper to use and NO heat when you're done and NO preheating oven, I just cooked A Schwan's pizza, came out great in less than 15 minutes
do not worry, I know it's done because of how the machine works, it was just a comment as if we were surprised but at the same time understanding the idea
I have no where near that talent. Pizza is made in NY, NJ some in Boston and Connecticut. lol I've had some "decent" attempts at scattered other places but that is where real pizza is made. lol That might be the definition of a pizza snob. LMAO
like I said in the video - I'm a New Yorker I don't even consider that crap pizza. lol Just wanted to see if it worked and had no idea what the result was going be be of said "pizza". lol It worked - no need to do it again. :-)
I admit I am a pizza snob. I'm a New Yorker.. maybe it is like telling a hispanic that a frozen burrito is mexican food. lol This video was just to see/show if the oven worked. :-)
simply FYI, the metal lid holder, attaches to under the side of the nuwave oven. and it keeps the lid in place.
Yeah I know but I rarely use them. :)
I bought a brand new NuWave Elite with ALL the accessories at a Salvation Army store for $18. Worth about $200! I haven't used it yet so I'm watching all the videos I can... Thanks!
check your mirrors for cops!! that's a steal !!! lmao GREAT deal.
$45!? Excellent price, i bought mine for $149. i LOVE my nuwave oven! thanks for the video.
You can find them cheaper than the one I got at thrift stores but this seemed brand new.
Sold me on this! Awesome thrift store find. Ive got to find an RV soon. Dying to get on the road.
The NuWave mini is my favorite RV cooking gadget and this works well in the house. :)

The brown cover with NuWave Oven doesn't crack. Had mine for 3-4yrs
I've been lucky so far - I have a couple of them and no cracks yet either. I've been careful because what others have said.
Holy cow I'm impressed 😉crunchy crust yum. Wonder where I can get the rubber thing and flipper? 🤔
I know right??!!?? sounded insane but it worked
oh.. I have actually seen them at thrift stores lol
thanks Danno now I am craving some crappy frozen pizza lol Looks like the Nuwave did a pretty good job. I was skeptical on the whole cooking it upside down thing but worked out alright it seems.
It did much better than I thought it would. The upside down thing made me stop and read it twice! lol I apologize for causing a craving of a frozen pizza. lmao
a frozon pizza in a reg oven only takes 12 to 16 mins!!
ok - I believe you but I wouldn't really know - I only did this to see if it worked.. I'm not a fan of frozen pizzas lol
Interesting. Took about the same time for it to cook in the oven. Pizza looked delicious to me (I've been on a no carb diet for the past 3 weeks, so everything looks great to me hahaha).
I think I could have gone maybe a minute or possibly 2 less. Like I said the pizza snob in me barely calls this pizza. lol
Lol
but you don't have to preheat your oven . and it doesn't heat up the kitchen.
Now that you've done this review will you ever make your own from scratch? That's one thing I've never seen you make!
To be 100% honest... suffering from the New Yorker pizza snob problem I doubt I'd ever try. Almost positive it is beyond my limited skills and I'd only disappoint myself. :)
Ours is coming in handy right now.......oven won't work and needs a part!!! I've made steak and ribs in it and is great!
I'm a fan too... I don't even use my "normal" oven anymore. :)
If you got all that for $45 you got a deal. Rack looks unused
Yeah that was a good deal
Make your own pizza from scratch is the best!
ohhh I don't have that ability!! lol I will leave it to the real professionals... but I need to get back to NYC for that :)
Wander Dano...it's really not hard....matter of fact, it's easy!
it's the pizza snob in me. lol
👀
bought this Pizza and i did it all wrong Glad i found you thank you for this
It is a really weird way to cook a pizza.. but it works. lol
I love my nuwave it's awesome and the food is so much better .
I totally agree!
well I watched it on my I pad , what did you think about it ? was it worth the ( $4 .50 ) pizza ?
ummm it did a REALLY nice job cooking it... but it was a frozen "pizza" lol
Hey now , hehehe better then none plus you said it yourself it was a cheep pizza , I'm just saying , hey make a home made one with it or those English muffin one's , it will be banging ! Ttyl Dan'O ,
Hey happy new year by the way 🐻
I've made those before - like on a hoagie bun with pizza sauce and all. that is do-able because I don't consider it pizza lol
I hear ya Dan'O , I lived in New Jersey and worked in the Bronx , so yep , I hear ya ! Lol

it looks delicious
the NuWave did a good job with it
Cooking the pizza upside down seems so unnatural, but that crust had a nice crunch. I hope you had a good holiday.
Yeah - it was weird and didn't seem right. but it cooked it the way it should.
lol.. I was raised at the jersey shore on thin crust pies and even in philly the pizza is a lot like NYC pizza, here in Florida...fagitaboutit! Yeah - that pizza was not something I really wanted to eat but I wanted to see how it worked and the NuWave did a good job
The dome is less likely to Crack I've killed 3 nuwave using that holder thing, it rolls off and the top part never works again, dome fine not one crack.
I've been pretty lucky - I use mine all the time and haven't had it crack yet. But I do know it is a problem to watch out for. :)
You're absolutely right, I got rid of the holder and my dome lasts way longer.
The dome kept sliding off onto the granite counter and cracking!
where's the bamboo cutting board and the pizza cutter
Got this at a Thrift Store and those were missing
Yummy
the NuWave did a good job with it
Dude I don't think you need to use that silicon cover on a pizza in the Nuwave
I'm shocked! The pizza snob resorted to a frozen pizza! hahaha! I'm sure it was barely edible, tombstones usually are fairly nasty! 👍👍
Spend a couple days looking at a pizza flipper and silicone thing and finally said OK let's see!! lol For those that eat these "pizza" it did a good job!
if you must do frozen, california pizza kitchen brand is the way to go. :) hey , thanks for the video!
I can't promise it's true.. BUT.. I heard that every time an Italian eats a frozen pizza, an Italian grandmother cries. uh-huh.. true story.
LMAO !! Exactly!! I swear it is safe to say I've had less then 10 frozen pizzas in my entire life! I do not believe mine ever had one in her freezer. :)
Wander Dano - just don't get "bagels" in the freezer section too. ...they will pull your NY card hahahha
uuggghhh.. in 8 days it will be FOREVER since I've had a real bagel !! lol
You can cook those in an oven in less time....
I figure about the same.. if I was to do it again I'd say 20 - 21 minutes
Travel On Digiornio comes out great 👍

yes, yes it is, but in the end works really good
yep is a very good machine for cooking for different types of situations and needs
That was a lot of cheese!!
lol
I bet you throw your pizza dough in the air and the whole bit, don't you. I know how you pizza snobs are.
I have no where near that talent. Pizza is made in NY, NJ some in Boston and Connecticut. lol I've had some "decent" attempts at scattered other places but that is where real pizza is made. lol That might be the definition of a pizza snob. LMAO
Maybe... Does the dollar Pizza place on Broadway in NYC count when you are a pizza snob? LOL
I've never been... but doesn't sound good. :)
Aluminum foil for pizza???? lmao😎
it's just to make clean up easier. basically the same as foil or a drip pan in a regular house oven. :-)
@@WanderDano if the pizza is that greasy don't eat it lol😎
like I said in the video - I'm a New Yorker I don't even consider that crap pizza. lol Just wanted to see if it worked and had no idea what the result was going be be of said "pizza". lol It worked - no need to do it again. :-)
Use the non stick foil and you'll lose less cheese. 👍
@@iwinzeazy
I blot my pizza with paper towels a little, once it cools off.
what the hell who doesn't love pizza it america for crying out loud...
It's my favorite thing.. well REAL pizza is. lol
What is wrong with you? I love frozen pizza and was raised on fresh pizza. Dont buy crap and dont overcook it. U may like it mr prissypants.
I admit I am a pizza snob. I'm a New Yorker.. maybe it is like telling a hispanic that a frozen burrito is mexican food. lol This video was just to see/show if the oven worked. :-)
