Happy World Autism Awareness Day! That was very interesting to hear about your life. I think you do an excellent job of explaining things well. Because I'm so isolated (by choice), I wasn't diagnosed with having autism until just a couple of years ago (I'm 35-years-old). My parents just left me alone to do what I wanted alone in my room as a child, so I don't think they noticed any of the signs, which is why I was diagnosed so late. I'm glad you did an extra video for this week! Great video!
There is a book called Butterfly in the Water that you might like to read. It is about five people with autism lost in the wilderness after a plane crash. They are with this weird pilot and two teachers. They have to try and rescue themselves. It is an action adventure story with fate, destiny, humour, romance and tragedy. They become heroes in a way and some of it is true.
I find I get mentally exhausted sometimes and zone out a lot when in company. So if someone looks past my strange behavior and I think they are interesting and would like to be friends then sometimes they dont get much back from me, Im not that chatty or sociable so it can be really hard to make friends. Of course for the most part Im quite happy in my own company but everynow and then when I see groups of people hanging out or waiting for each other after work,I do think it would be nice if someone waited because they wanted to walk a bit with me or was ok with spending time with me.
Replying to your comment that you commented on my video for autism could you give me a shout out on your next video you are very good at explaining our difficulties fair play
I remember now! Yes I enjoyed your video where you talk about living with autism. Will try and draw it to people's attention (if I forget - I am forgetful- just remind me for next time!).

Thanks for this suggestion - I'm looking for new books to read about autism so will add to my list.

Yes I get mentally exhausted too. My mind finds it hard to keep track of everything as social situations move too fast.
