I got back yesterday from my route 66 trip. Some of the sights were amazing. We took some of your advice to go to some awesome places especially the grand canyon👍👍. The most impressive thing ive seen. Thanks for your blogs.
Wonderful video and very nicely edited! The wife and I have watched all your videos from the pre-planning video through to this compilation and really feel we sort of "took the trip" with you both. We are going to do the trip June 2020 and really wish we could've done it the same time as you guys! I would imagine that you encounter the same people at different stops that are taking the trip. Maybe you'll go again soon? Next June would be a good time! P.S.......Yes Mellissa.....I'm THE Mike that you said "hi" to in your video. It absolutely made my day!
Hi Mike, you're definitely going to have a good time in June next year. What's amazing when I was editing the video is the change of scenery as you head through the states. Don't know if we will have the chance to do the whole thing again soon but there are some parts we really want to do again soon. Yes, you do meet the same people at various stages on the road.
@@flydriveexplore You are correct about the scenery. We live in Maryland and went to AZ in 2009 and it's like being on a different planet as far as the landscape. Not nearly as green as the east coast but more beautiful in other ways as you've seen. What parts were your favorites that you would like to do again?
@@mikec6822 We loved the deserts as they are so different to what we are used to. Around Flagstaff and mot really on Route 66 but very beautiful , Sedona. Tulsa was a surprisingly nice city and we wanted more time there. Santa Fe was a good place to stay. It was a bit of rush to LA so a bit longer in rural California.
So cool! You went through my Home in Azusa,Ca in the San Gabriel Valley we have some wonderful eats here that are Sam Gabriel valley award winners. Hope to do the same things sometime soon!
This was such a nice adventure! 3.5 weeks in the car is soo long though. Maybe one day I will do it. But for now, I will enjoy my end of the trail visit to Santa Monica and beginning of the trail in Chicago. It’s so beautiful to see the varying landscapes along the way even the donkeys that seemed to be having a great time lol.
It was good to see the middle bits, the bits people don't really see as most people now fly. The driving wasn't too bad, usually about 3 hours a day on average
Astro man was made by my father Bill Swan along with many other iconic fiberglass statues which are in A short Amazon ebook for only 14.99 called "The man behind the mufflerman ".
This is where we stopped www.flydriveexplore.com/drives/driving-route-66-chicago-to-la/ And we would recommend this book EZ66 Guide www.amazon.co.uk/Route-66-EZ66-GUIDE-Travelers/dp/0988924617
It took us 11 driving days to get to the Grand Canyon from Chicago. We actually took a bit longer as we stayed in some places for more than one night. We also made a point to stop on the way and avoid the interstates and stick to as much of Route 66 as we could.

@@flydriveexplore That's good to hear...My in-laws lived in Lake Havasu city... but I've heard there is a lot of Americana along the way

Thank you ! It is a really nice video. Would you mind me asking you how long did you take for round trip?
We spent just over 3 weeks but we did stop off in Vegas and some other towns for a few days extra.
So it will take at least 2 weeks. I thought 10 days would be enough to do the road trip though.
@@오즈만디아스 You can do it in 10 days but it depends on how often you want to stop at places and visit some of the sights and Route 66 museums.
Thank you sir.
I wish route 66 was repaired as a National Historical site! Damned interstate 😠
Bj superbe video.question : auriez vous les etapes.ou vous dormiez le soir pour que je finalise mon circuit je bloque un peu avec les distances merci

How many days total before you arrived at the Grand Canyon from Chicago? That is our end-poing and we are also trying to do the Route 66 to get there.

My very thoughts
Can’t wait to explore this road with my communist boyfriend! 😃🥳
That’s going to be interesting!
Damn 3.5 weeks! Do you think i can do it in a couple days??
I think you will just be driving and only stopping to fill up. It's 2500 miles.
