  • Prayed over my bees today, I Pray they survive the stupidity of mankind. I really wish people would quit using herbicides so much and at the wrong time of year, they are causing damage to our ecosystem. I also Pray that I am more constructive and kindly with my "Grumpy Old Man" side next time. I think I watched to many Clint Eastwood movies, lol oh well it'll make an interesting story for those 2 young men. So we did a little light beekeeping, I gave some more room to grown and others got honey supers, we'll see if they make a little honey of this flow. Blessed Days...

LOL Dave getting protective of his babies. No way!!! I hope they remember your area in the future. Our government is way to spray happy as are most of the farmers and suburbia with their lawns and gardens. Can't have a weed grow in the lawn you know.

Ya, I kind of am, I think.😂 Honestly I'm not all that proud of how upset I got. 😒
When I was walking down the road twords them waving at them to stop, they just kept grinning and spraying away. 🙄Got me mad, lol. By the time I got to them they had sprayed past that end of the property.
I think it is a good thing they are so far back from the road and behind trees, I should be added to the no spray area. Odd thing is across the street is no spray listed as an organic farm, so I don't know why they think it would be ok for them to spray on this side. Oh well, the day is done and I got finished what I wanted to. They are most likely fine they are not foraging much of the ditches like they were a month or so ago. Thanks for stopping by, Blessed Days Russell...

Unfortunately I’ve heard/seen this happen near us too. I hate that the colonies are so close. Since the blooms are off the blackberries, maybe it won’t be “as bad” for the bees since they likely are pulling nectar elsewhere?

I think it's all good they are pulling off the big bushes and there is about a 1/2 acre of buckwheat blooming atm so I am sure they are finding plenty of food elsewhere. I'll bet you that the native pollinators were, we spend so much time fostering a good environment for All the pollinators as beekeepers it's frustrating when our own Governments or neighbors work against us.
Lucky my direct neighbor is an organic farmer and has taken the time to learn a little about honey bees and how they help his farm. Odd thing is the County thought it was ok to spray there in the first place, my neighbors side of the road was listed as no spray but mine the bee yard was listed as spray, they shouldn't be spraying anywhere near his farm. Ok cool sorry I got my rant out, lol. Thanks much for stopping by, I Hope you have a great weekend. Blessed Days...

I think they will be, they are not doing much foraging on the ditch flowers atm so there is a good chance they didn't even notice. I just upsets you that will all the chemical contamination we have all over the world they just keep dumping more of it on to the ground. Thanks for stopping by, Blessed Days Anne.

I don't think you overreacted. If you had asked them politely, they would immediately forget. Now that they have a story they can tell in the break room about a crazy beekeeper. Your story will bring bee awareness to the other workers, and when the supervisor overhears the story again it will remind them to look up the policy on spaying around apiarys. You might have now helped all the beekeepers in your county. Have a Great Day DC. 🐝🐝🐝

You are probably right, Thanks Noah.😁
I still should have acted in a manor that Honored God better, instead I letting my temper get the better of me. But it's over and done with now and ya I'll bet it made for a story.
😲Dude that beekeeper was pissed off.🤨Oh dude did you see that movie about beekeepers😳 we better do as he says.🤣😂
I was out mowing the ditch the best I could this morning, turns out most all they sprayed was Daisies and a few blackberries.
The bees aren't bothering with Daisies that much this time of year. Blessed Days Noah...

Yes man we had to put up signs for our gardens and now my bee pond is drying up and my bees will have to go next door to the graveyard and drink from them ponds were they spray around each pond and kills the grass right down to the water line and my bees will suffer, what can we do but fight for our bees!

I agree, people are spray happy now days. They should try a mower it doesn't poison pollinators. Thanks for stopping by Richard. Blessed Days...

Ya it got me grumpy, but I honestly probably over reacted, stopping traffic and all.
😂The thought ran through my head all those wackos stop traffic all the time, my 🤬turn, lol.🤣I'm at least doing it for honey bees lives and these ones are expensive. 😂No screwing up this year.
Oh well, lol the girls are most likely fine, I just don't know why we have to "spray" everything now days. It can't be good for everything...
Thanks for stopping by Brad, Blessed Days buddy...
