I honestly can't believe that VDL wasn't DSQ for his actions. This whole team deserved both championships and it's so sad that it was stolen by one stupid action. Thanks for the videos all year, the whole team is full of great characters and I hope we get to see a season 2! Thanks for all the efforts in these videos!

Feel so bad for Lawson, I was absolutely raging when I saw that Race 2 incident, he deserved that title 100%. Great work by AF Corse and Red Bull to get the teams' title, but I'd imagine that's little consolation for Lawson

By the way, what Nick did this weekend was absolutely amazing! Specially on the second race. Fought back from last through the pack up to 4th place with a broken car. Why is this guy only in Formula E? He was absolutely the driver of the race! If he drives next year for the whole season, he will be a contender for sure

The DTM lost a lifelong fan in me, with the way this finale was handled. Why would I spend a single minute following this championship if I know at the end the results are manipulated and drivers can just ram into their oponent (twice in a row) and take them out of the race with little or no consecuences?

I only recently started following it, but the more I learned, the more disgusting it became. Yeah I am also done with this joke of a championship. No person in their right mind would follow or enjoy something as vile and corrupted as this... Srsly I only watched because I like gt3 cars in sims and Albon, but like the clowns included in this series makes me feel ok with a potential cancel of the whole thing. (even though I hate this cancel culture from my heart, this would deserve it)

@TheNorthernAviator Why would the race be stopped for one driver that doesn't make any sense. Its racing things like this happen all the time some more serious than this. I mean look at British GP this year Hamilton only got a 10 second penalty for that incident compared to that this is nothing. Unfortunate for Liam and how he lost the championship but the world moves on and he will too.

Liam is the champion as far as I am concerned. What KVL did was a dog act & disgraceful. He should of been disqualified & had at least 50 points deducted. DTM should be ashamed of them selves for allowing this crap to go on. Congrats Liam & Red Bull you guys smashed them in the teams championship 👏👏👏👏

This season has been amazing! It was a pleasure to watch Liam and Alex fight for the championship. It's easy to be upset after such a finale but there's nothing to be ashamed of. Team's championship and second for Liam at the end. Congratulations 👏🏆❤️ Thank you so much for months of pure joy and entertainment!

This is heartbreaking! I only started watching DTM because you guys entered. But seeing how this unfolded I'll probably never watch again. Still congrats on the Team Championship and Liam for taking 2nd! You can be so proud, awesome job! Really liked seeing Nick in that last race weekend as well. Congrats to Alex for going back to F1! ❤
KVL just doesn't know what shame is and he absolutely disgusts me, especially from this video - so many conversations with him before the race and he just kept divebombing anyway? If that's not deliberate then I don't know what is. And btw no matter if it's intended or not, that podium shot of Liam with 1st and champion texts as background is great visual language. DTM is a joke but you guys did such an amazing job, have been enjoying every second of these vlogs. I followed because of Alex but now I'm a big fan of all of you. Thanks for the season!
Been waiting all week for this, my highlight in a lot of low lights was Nick Cassidy!
Had to turn my computer off when I saw that turn one incident. I was so gutted for Liam, I couldn’t even continue watching. At least I missed the farce of an ending. Liam is amazing and he’s still so young, he’ll do amazing in the future I’m sure. We all know he deserved that win, and he’ll get it another time.
What a brilliant season from the team and Liam, such a shame seeing Liam lose the title that way, heart sunk when I saw it live ngl

For all the angles I've seen, the best reasoning I can come up with that fits with the evidence is that KVDL intentionally hit Liam. It's an absolute disgrace that he didn't get suitably punished.
i still cant understand why the governing org. cant simply look at the datatrace and clearly see that it was completely intentional, wouldn't be surprised if the Abt audi added some extra strengthening to the front right corner of one its cars before the race , you know just in case

Well, yeah, because Mercedes and Audi chickened out and pulled the plug while BMW developed the car for 2021. Can't blame Aston Martin - HWA because they were not present in the talk to begin with.
Now Second Gen Class One is still alive and well in Japan and only in Japan.
If we're talking the one thing that makes DTM unique which is the Class 1 regs, then there's GT500 in Super GT that will keep using it for far longer than DTM will ever hoped for.
Honestly, Super GT is the best GT series out there (far better than DTM even back when they're still using Class 1) with both GT500 and GT300 producing great races one after another.
I hope we see what was said behind the scenes...such a dramatic finale

Naa man, it was questionable, yes, but any driver could have done the same. That's just racing stop with the unnecessary and overblown hate.

Despite becoming a big fan this season, ***I absolutely will not watch DTM again next year***, but I hope AF Corse and Red Bull can find a different GT series to participate in together. Seems like a great team to help the young drivers grow.

Since first race of this season I watched the DTM because of two things. First is Tourenwagen Legenden and the second is Liam Lawson...
I watched whole season, was cheering both Liam and Ferrari with their first full season. It wasn't every time by the way we all wanted but if you are a fan, you are there for all ups and downs. But... The last race was a nightmare...

Lap 58 gap Goetz to Auer is 14 sec.
Lap 62 Ellis gives up the position to Goetz, gap to Auer -7.67
Lap 63 gap to Auer -4.68
Lap 64 Goetz gets pass on Auer
Lap 68 at the finish line Auer is miraculously keeping with Goetz with just -0.86 sec lost. Couple laps earlier he was losing up to 4 sec per lap!!
This is shameless, dirtiest, awfull, disrespectable, and unsporty thing that I've ever saw. Worse than F1 Belgian GP, the one, that never happened and an 1990 DTM Hockenheim finale when Schumacher, being only guest driver, torpedoed Johnny Cecotto, championship leader with 18 points advantage (Liam had 19 points advantage)...

I know this isn't new but I don't understand how a manufacturer (who already won their championship), gets to dip their grubby hands and influence the driver's championship. Not to mention, half the grind are AMGs... one of the biggest legalized robbery i've seen in motorsports this year smh

It was hard to see what KVL did, the first thing to pop up in my mind was some words that an Aussie told to a Italian guy a few years ago "Obviasly your ambition outweighed your talent" (just take the words, not the context of what that words were in if you know what Im talking about). Brilliant season Lawson had, hope he goes well wherever he goes!
Still haven’t recovered from the shock of what happened but Liam is the champion in my eyes and Liam and Nick together as a team was just awesome. Kiwi power. I’ve absolutely loved watching these review videos every week. I’m another who was watching because of Liam and Alex, neither of them will be there next year but I seriously wonder if Red Bull will now. Although I hope so as would be a great opportunity for another young driver. Nick Cassidy is a legend and if it wasn’t for sponsorship and financing I’m sure he would’ve been in F2 and F1. We can still dream it will happen.

It was cool seeing the dynamic between Liam and Nick. Nick seemed to do a lot to keep the mood light and fun and was a massive support for Liam in an environment where normally the pressure can get to you. “head down, you can do this ;)”

Red Bull AlphaTauri AF Corse has Done everything right the whole season Including fair sportsmanship unlike the obvious constructors/manufacture's and I won't lower Myself to their Lvl by naming them. and because of that fact, DTM allowed the race to be RIGGed
Watching this video for me was really hard as I'm guessing it was for all the fans that watched it already knowing the outcome GO KIWI ( Liam and Nick "Kia Kaha" Brothers) and thank you so much to Red Bull AlphaTauri AF Corse you have my utmost respect.

In sailing, and I think it should be in every sport, you have something called redress. If a contender gets taken out through no fault of there own and without the possibility to avoid a collision a score will be added based on the average amount of points scored throughout the season. This would have been one of those situations.

When every other merc on track lets him past without a fight, and his main title rival (who was ahead on pts) gets taken out on Lap 1? Farce of a race win. You could even argue that the title victory was a giant farce too.
@@awijaya2116 Well, the fact he was a championship contender is based on his own results. He won the race the day before by a mile and the all the points he had already weren't gifted to him. And, DTM was founded as a show case for German car brands. It's always been a brand/team championship. They were racing until only one real contender per brand was left, and then stuff like this was done. This is nothing new.
Anyways, I was just trying to say, some are barking at the wrong tree here. I cheered for Liam too. This young lad has only raced single-seaters before and was the top guy from the first second. Just impressive! In the end I'm just happy Maxi Götz get the title instead of KVL. The 5 second penalty was a joke, he deserves one/some race bans. It was not the first time he braked to late and had to use other cars as moving rails to make the corner.
I hope Liam gets a competitive seat in F1 soon, even if this would make George Russell's life harder. ;)
Feel sorry for Liam, he really deserved the win of the championship, I hope he sees that everyone thinks same of that. That was the most dirty dtm final for many years, remembered me of “Schieb ihn raus!”. Also a great effort by Nick, he’s done everything possible, exactly as Liam and the whole team. All together it was a nearly perfect season, all that missed was one teamorder less.
I still can’t believe what happened in that race. Hope to see both Nick and Liam back in DTM next year.
Liam is definitely not coming back and Red Bull/Alpha Tauri probably won't either. AF Corse will probably still stay though.

Having seen VDL race in IMSA over here, he seemed like a gentleman racer. guess turns into a kamikaze pilot tho to take out his rivals.
Judgement comes with experience .. and experience is often a result of bad judgement. KVL must surely reflect on his appalling judgement. Liam nailed the weekend and was bombed out of contention. Look to 2023 and may well be driving F1.

@@matpk thanks I’m looking for new series to watch, if I was going American it would Indy car. European it’s going to be just WEC. DTM was looking a good series with Ferrari making it a great series but the last two races, and the rigged finish for Merc killed it for me.
Trying to become a bigger series, and be seen as more legit, but then let a farce of an ending, and a disqualification worthy start happen, really shows where DTM actually lies (in the pockets of the manufacturer's). Liam showed his skill, Alex had a solid season, and Nick made a great 3rd driver.
