Thought I would update you on how my experience is going with this camera in my wife's car. It's been faultless. I've since installed it with the DDPai parking mode / (3 wire) hardwire kit. Works brilliantly and have not experienced any faults / shut-offs. I'm also in Australia, approaching summer, and it doesn't want to melt itself. Has been hard-wired for just over a month now. Basically it records 30fps when ACC/ignition is on and when car is off it immediately drops to a time-lapse recording mode of 1fps. It will continue to record like this until you either turn the ignition on again, your car battery drops below a specified voltage (selectable in the app - there's three settings but for me I feel most comfortable selecting the highest voltage setting of 12.4v) or 24 hours has elapsed since you turned the ignition off - regardless of the battery maybe still having a voltage higher than you have selected as being the cut-off voltage.

Nice video man. I have the DDPAI M6 PLUS for a front camera, have had it for 2.5 years now, and I love it. From what I can see from your video, it doesn't look like any difference between the two cameras. I just watched a Top 5 Dash Cams video and NONE of them look as good as the DDPAI brand. Before I bought mine, I ordered a A119, which was supposed to be the best seller and best camera out there, and I thought it was garbage. I had nothing but problems with that camera so I returned it and ordered the DDPAI M6 PLUS. Over two years now and haven't had a single problem! Not one! I will admit the mistaken words written on the app takes away from the quality of the DDPAI brand, but if you can look past that, it's a solid brand. And the app is pretty intuitive so it's not difficult to understand anyways. Thanks for putting this out, I think I'll order one for my rear view to try out.

I park the car facing a "wall"; if the one who wants to damage the car comes from behind (the back is oriented towards the opening) the camera turns and films towards the inside of the car and implicitly towards the back of the car?

Hi mate, no worries, glad I could help :) 1- yes, you don’t need to worry about start or stop recording. 2-that’s the sensitivity. It detects you had an ‘accident’ or something similar and takes a photo. It should save a clip as well, before and after the incident. Have a look at cameras files, because it should lock those and they don’t get overwritten. To disable have a look at the sensitivity. You can turn that off you want, or set it to low
Hi, I have bought allso an ddpai mini, installed the app. Everything connected. But i can’t record any video’s. I only can take picture’s. The app is the same you have.
I have had this camera as the front-facing in one of my cars for around a month now and completely agree about the over-sharpening of the image. Certain road surfaces, especially at speed, can look almost solarised. I also find the bitrate may be a little low. When driving in areas with lots of green (paddocks and trees) the image gets a little poor - true of all dashcams I've used though. It's a nice, solid camera and I'm looking forward to the hardwire kit to arrive so I can utilise the parking mode. Great review - very similar opinions to what I had...even down to the good quality of the box.

I like the looks and the quality (image and built) in general. Do you think I should do a quick video regarding the hardwire kit installation? Would that be helpful for someone? There's not much online in regards to how these work with the Mini3 hardwire / parking mode kit - installation, how it knows when the car is parked and how the camera switches on again etc. A lot of reviews (not just for this camera) gloss over the parking mode and miss the finer details of how it functions and what it needs to function. Maybe even a video that's Ddpai Mini3 specific with reference to what other cameras do with their parking mode.
I know exactly what you are saying. I find myself a bit lost regarding the parking mode feature in most of the cameras I’ve tested. There is not much info out there. Even the manufacturers don’t supply to much (or none) technical information about the parking mode. I will try DDPai hardwire kit I will put it to the test!! :)

Do you know how I update the firmware of the DDPai? I emailed DDPai directly and they sent me a file to download which updates the dashcam... But AVG pulled it as a TROJAN! The app says I have the latest version and is up to date but the quality of the picture is disgustingly awful! Won't even read plates up close. Help!
Matt the problem isn’t the resolution (number of pixels in the image) with this camera its the bit rate of the camera (how fast it processes the image), which is a hardware limitation of the camera.

I can try if you want :) I had an idea of putting a powerbank plugged to both of my cameras that would received its power from the car while I’m driving (if this makes sense). I tried this once without success. I guess I need to try again
Received the dashcam and used it for the first time today. While everything is good as expected, the built-in wifi seems to be interfering with the signal from my key fob. Once it is on, my remote key fob only works on an extreme short range (like a foot away from the car). The moment I disconnected the dashcam, the key remote functions regularly again. Has anyone experienced the same issue as described?!
Hi. Minute 8:05, top 2 options. You can change camera name and wifi password. I don't think you can turn the wifi off, otherwise you won't be able to connect to the camera in order to change any settings or view the files. Also, there is no physical button to turn wifi on or off
Hi James! Just test it. Connect your phone to the camera via WiFi as you normally do. You should have internet in the phone using the 4G/3G. You don’t need to do anything. The phone will stay connected to be camera and you still have internet on the phone. At least I can do that on an iPhone. Android should work as well.
With DDPai app I have noticed it works seamlessly on Apple products. I'm an Android user and even have to switch off my mobile data to get the app to work. It's not such a hassle for me and is quite common according to dashcams.com forum.

Hi. That’s up to your WiFi on your phone. Your phone will pick the best WiFi. You will need to choose the camera WiFi in your phone first. Then when you go into the app the camera should be connected. It’s all up to the phone :)

I'm assuming this is a super capacitor powered design...? Fixed SD card possibly avoids all the errors & problems that one hears about in dash cam buyer reviews,.... . But it means you are stuck with 32gb, and RTB if the card stops working..... The 6 way G sensor is a top notch feature for a Chinese cam. Usually found only in Korean cams at twice the price. Is the app quick? It's the area that many Chinese cams seem to fall down on. The manufacturer states elsewhere that they are never going to mess with your data/phone permissions. That's great if true. I was going to buy a Goluk until I saw the extreme permissions you had to give them, including harvesting your data and making calls from your phone if you want to use their extremely mediocre app. Ridiculous. Nice review. I like it. This is on my short list with the Viofo A119 S. Which of the two would you go for? Can you comment on DDPAI reliability? Hi!! Thanks for the positive feedback :) The app is good enough for what you need. So far I’ve got no complaints. I never tried the A119s but I can say I’m very happy with this DDPai. Actually I’m using 2 DDPai dahscams in my car. The mini 1 on the back and this Mini 3 for front withou any issues :)
@@Ryaniwk thanks that's what I was doing and it was just recording rather than connecting to the computer so I tried a second micro to usb cord I had and then it worked.
Gps function is great if you want to prove that a speed ticket is at fault, however it adds liability on you in case of accidents if you were speeding even by a mile or two
It should, but it needs to be ‘plugged’ to a constant source of power… You will need to check which fuse have always power, even when the car is off. I never checked this specific Mini 3 Hardwire kit, but I think it needs to be plug to both, one contant on (even when the car is off), and other to a fuse that only has power when the car is working. This will trigger the dashcam into Park Mode when needed. Hope this makes sense.
No lol just brought the camera with the hard wire kit was going to have it wired into my front cabin light by a pro installer that should have constent power brought the camera from your review it was well done

Well I guess I’m the only person in here who isn’t a shill so here’s the truth: this camera sucks. Even in the video if he’s moving at all you can’t see number plates clearly because this cameras bit-rate is on par with a mobile phone camera from 1998.

Do you have any 2k footage we can view? @1080p on UA-cam - if you pause it shows how you wouldn't be able to read a registration of a passing car.
Hi Matt, yes, I can upload a clip without downsizing it, no worries. UA-cam will always compress the quality no matter what, but I will do it :)

i just ordered a cheaper dashcam, to test it before i order the ddpai. It should not matter if the cam get power from car or powerbank.
If it turns off park mode after 24hrs anyway a power pack might be overkill.

You need to plug the camera to the computer using the USB cable

Not sure tbh. These dash cams are meant to be plugged in when in use, like most dash cams. This particular model uses a capacitor instead :)
