@@Lam Andrew, thanks for this video. How about 360° coverage? I'm looking for discrete security cameras on the outside of my cargo van, in order to detect tampering. I have a 2016 Ram Promaster City Tradesman cargo van with no windows at all in the rear. It doesn't have to be one camera that does 360°. I'll probably need four separate cameras, one for each side of the van.
I've had a Viofo dash cam for a couple of years now and it's a solid dash cam. I did have issues early on finding an SD card that would not fail. Once I put in a Transcend SD card, it's been flawless and very reliable.

Hey Ronald, thank you for keeping it relatively polite and I'm happy to explain. Most of the other Top dash cam picks are terrible, they're clearly made by bots or by people who pull from Amazon's Top 50 list which is mostly terrible. The other good reviewerss (VortexRadar and US Dash Cam) both have the Viofo A119 on their list. If you couldn't find their videos, perhaps it's you who are biased or have done a poor job researching cameras.
I accept your apology and my bad as well for coming out a bit strong with accusing you of not doing your research. That wasn't me in the Vortex Radar video - that was Alex from BlackBoxMyCar. I've never met the creator. My goal for my reviews is to come up with a set of criteria I think are important and then rank cameras against that. Viofo just happens to occupy the $80-$110 spot as I haven't seen anything better so far. I'm trying my best to find an alternative. How would you improve the way I do things? Genuinely curious as there may be blinds spots I'm not aware of.
Best dashcam reviewer by far online. Unbiased, insightful information for consumers. The only thing I would add for DR01 are a couple of things - I prefer suction mount since I do drive rental cars from time to time, and it's handy to move it from car to car. The DR01 also frequently needs to have the time / date set when not used for a while, which can be an annoyance. If you don't set the date / time, it may not record which is a big flaw. However, the DR01 just saved me in an accident recently where the footage made it clear to the police and insurance who was at fault. I will not drive without a dashcam ever, even in temporary loaner or rental vehicles.
I have had The Viofo A119V3 for six weeks now and it is working very well. The video quality in the daylight is great! At night, the video quality is also great! I had the Viofo A119S. I now have that camera on my rear window and the video quality of this older camera is still working great for me. I have been using Viofo for the past three years with no problem. For me, Viofo is very reliable and i will stay with them. Great job again Andrew!!! Thank you!!

I was not looking for to it since I know nothing about dash cams; but I wanted to make sure I got something decent for her that didn’t break the bank. May even consider the duo.. Thanks sooo much!!
I had no idea that dashcams would have such a following on UA-cam. With so many options it makes it hard to choose. Your channel gives us tech heads and car enthusiasts a very clean and professional way of sorting out what cameras are trash and what we should be buying by weighing the important features that can often get confusing. Andrew, been watching your channel for a couple years now, thx for all the hard work. Please do a whole video just on installation of a camera with parking mode. It's very helpful to see the whole process from beginning to end, messing with the fuse box can be very intimidating! Thank you!
Great review. I would love if you can review the A129 duo PRO. The 4k version of the duo viofo cam. Have been looking for reviews on that, but no one does a better review than you! Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago
Thanks Mike! I am very interested in the A129 PRO, seems like a good price point for the front-back market. I will do the U1000 first though as premium cameras need an update and I don't want to be covering Viofo all the time.
Just received the Blueskysea B1, tx for the tip and review to connect the App (Switch off mobile data). Really good for £32 on eBay. Using it for my daughter learning. I can now swap it to my other car using a set of magnets instead of tearing off the 3M tape each time. Now registering on the website for my 18 month warranty. Great stuff.
I watched your other video on the 5 best budget models and then this one. It was extremely helpful and enlightening that even the cheapest cameras are worth the money. For the price of $40 to $50 I could afford to buy a few (For all the cars) and even double them up in a single vehicle.
Another great review Andrew. I hope to be replacing my dash cam system soon and I trust your reviews. I've been looking for a good dash cam but didn't know where to turn and knew I had to do some research. So glad I came across your video! Thank you so much.
I just installed my A129 last week
Great choice Sticky!
@Pip duo
Most Excellent! I'll stop looking any further as your reviews are most most excellent.
9:15 Most Drivers don't check the engine when the engine check light comes up .
Your results ARE what you do .
Andrew, been watching your channel for a couple years now, thx for all the hard work.
Please do a whole video just on installation of a camera with parking mode. It's very helpful to see the whole process from beginning to end, messing with the fuse box can be very intimidating! Thank you!
Hey Al, I think that's a great idea. Parking mode and premium cameras is something I'm going to look closer at in the future.
This was so helpful, thanks so much!
You're welcome Hannah! Thanks!
This quality of content is a guaranteed subscribe from me, lots of appreciated work gone into this vid
are these cams capable of recording rear view? or do I have to purchase them separately?
I watched your other video on the 5 best budget models and then this one. It was extremely helpful and enlightening that even the cheapest cameras are worth the money. For the price of $40 to $50 I could afford to buy a few (For all the cars) and even double them up in a single vehicle.
I’m looking for a camera that will also record when detecting motion. My daughter has someone door dinging her vehicle at school. Any suggestions?
Another great review Andrew. I hope to be replacing my dash cam system soon and I trust your reviews. I will be sharing this video with a guy I know who asked me what's a good dash cam to get for his daughter. With a quick search, I was able to find your channel again. Thanks again for your time and effort to keep your viewers informed.
You're welcome RB67! Glad I could help.
Hi, can u please suggest me best dash cam for taxi, which include front rear and inside recording, thanks
Hi, I haven't looked into taxi cameras in a while. Anker ROAV's DUO, Viofo A129 DUO IR, and the BlueSkySea B2w all seem good to me. Capacitors, proper infrared cameras and good video quality.
Thinking of getting a dashcam but needed the comparative information you provide in your video. You put together a very professional and well thought out presentation! Thank you!
With all the Californians flooding to my state with their god-awful driving, a dash cam is a must-have.
Dude. This guy. I think I love you. Your reviews are perfection.
Favorite dash cam reviewer driving some of the streets I commute on - love it!
Thanks Ryan!
You sold me, Andrew. I would be happy to buy a dash cam on your recommendation and based on my price point. Thanks for all your work on this subject and great presentation skills.
As always; Car Cam Central has the best reviews and information on the Internet!
I've been running dash cameras in my cars for many years. Car Cam Central has become my "go to" place for no nonsense dash camera information.
Thanks again Mark!
Thank you for posting this video..it's better than reading a million amazon website reviews
thank you! i live in a sketchy neighborhood so your reviews are super helpful for which one suits me best
Thank you for this video! It helped me to decide on which camera to get my wife for Christmas. Very informative!!!
You're welcome Jesse! Glad I could help.
Your review is one of the BEST and most comprehensive I have ever seen!! Thank you! You have a new and excited subscriber.
You've very welcome Christian!
Thank you! Great video for someone who doesn't really know about dashcams but needs something with the best bang for your buck!
Andrew, the link to 2020 video that you provided in 2019 review video is actually link to 2019 video itself. Just wanted to let you know for other audience. Really like un-biased reviews, thanks from India! :)
That's intentional - it's a guide for 2020. Hope that clarifies it. Thanks for commenting V K, glad you liked it.
Best review I have seen hands down! I do have one question, my need is more for vandalism of my vehicles, bending my antenna, keying my truck, stabbing a tire etc... what would you pick to deter these situations or catch the prick doing it??? I’m willing to spend for the best
from an old lady non-tech person....THANK YOU !!!!!!
Your videos are excellent and by far better than other dash cam videos. Thank you for all of your hard work.
Thanks Dapper, glad you enjoyed my reviews and you're welcome!
This is a fantastic quick review video to help users gather info and narrow the field a bit. Thank you very much. Well done!
thank you for mentioning what is bad or good for hot countries, that will really help me decide
After seeing compilations on UA-cam if bad drivers and hit and runs, it makes me want to get one
Thanks, Andrew. I have the VIOFO A119 v3 on my wish list. I will buy through your link when I am ready. Cheers from Winnipeg.
Thanks a lot howwon - much appreciated! You made a great choice.
Really good comprehensive video I appreciate all the work into like finding out who makes the sensors and where the HQ of these companies are based. Also I found the VIOFO A129 Plus for $6 more for a 1440p front camera + 1080 rear.
I live in Southern Arizona , and it is super hot. Thanks to this video I feel better informed on what to buy.
Hey, came across your video when looking for cheap dash cams. I don't normally comment, but had to do it for this one! Thanks for the great advice, and your hard work putting this video together! Appreciate it :)
Hey June, thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video and I'm happy it was of great value to you. I appreciate you taking the time to comment as well. Means a lot to me from what you said.
thank you i made my decision! Only video i found that put heat into account. Especially in these 120 degree Fahrenheit summers
Thanks Odeo!
I like the immense study into all of these. Great help.
Thanks Javier!
Always love Andrew's dash cam videos, bought two Viofo dash cams with no faulty found and reliable that have been used for 5+ years (Viofo A119 paired with Lexar 633x micro 32gb sd card). Will upgrade to a larger size of Samsung Pro Endurance card due to it can be taken more video clips.
Thanks for the great review. I see much work went into it with great info like the sensor specs, all important samples, clear concise info, but still pertinent info, and the very professional graphics!
Thank you Andrew. Your knowledge has been a great help. Very good reviews evidenced with the sample footage. Your a star.
