- Опубліковано 28 чер 2024
- I share my best value picks for dashcams between $35 and $110. These cameras were chosen after extensive research and hands-on testing. We looked closely at reliability, video quality and functionality versus their price and intended use to come up with our 5 picks.

🌟 UPDATE: July 29, 2021 🌟
Viofo A119V3 continues to be my top budget dash cam pick. It's been reliable and backed by a manufacturer with good customer service. 70mai's Pro-Plus is my new cheap pick. Same 1440P video quality as Viofo for $60 with a few downsides including poor customer service. See my review here: • Anker ROAV A1 Review -... The BlueSkySea B1W has been removed from my top picks. Anker A1 and Viofo A119V2 are no longer being sold.

OUR TOP DASHCAM PICKS & WHERE TO GET THEM
I've purchased all dash cams and accessories since 2017. No paid reviews here. When you buy using some links below, we may earn some money at no cost to you.
1️⃣ VIOFO A119V3 - Best Budget Camera
Great for drivers who want excellent day and night video quality and all the essentials you need in a dashcam. Great customer service through their retailer OCD Tronic. I recommend getting the polarizing filter to reduce glare.

2️⃣ 70MAI PRO PLUS | Best Value 1440P Dash Cam
The new value king for 2021, 70mai’s Pro-Plus cameras deliver amazing 1440P video quality with all the features I think are important for only $60. For most people who aren't in a hot environment and OK with bad customer service / WiFi app, this will be the better value over the 1080P cameras below. No longer available on Amazon unfortunately.

3️⃣ ANKER ROAV A1
Discontinued by the manufacturer.
4️⃣ Aukey Dash Cams - Hot Weather Picks
Our picks for hot climates as they are the only cameras with capacitors and a 2-year warranty. They aren’t specifically designed for hot weather but they are built decently. In 2021 the DRA1 (Budget 1080P) and DRS1 (4K) are the only two worth buying.
⚠️ Amazon has removed Aukey for review fraud on May 11th, 20201. Some cameras are available directly from Aukey: www.aukey.com/collections/das...
5️⃣ VIOFO A119V2 - 1440P Value Pick
Discontinued and can no longer found easily on the market. If you do, Viofo isn't supporting this model anymore.
💽 64GB SAMSUNG PRO ENDURANCE - Best Memory Card for Dash Cams
It helps your camera stay running as it’s tougher than the typical card you’ll buy and helps reduce data corruption.

thanks for spending 100s of hours testing and reviewing dash cameras...and then sharing your findings with us.
You're very welcome!
@@Lam appreciate it
@@Lam Andrew, thanks for this video. How about 360° coverage? I'm looking for discrete security cameras on the outside of my cargo van, in order to detect tampering. I have a 2016 Ram Promaster City Tradesman cargo van with no windows at all in the rear. It doesn't have to be one camera that does 360°. I'll probably need four separate cameras, one for each side of the van.

Who’s here after getting scared by one of those driving fails compilations?😂

Me lmfao
Mannnnnnnn lol
That, and then almost getting into an accident shortly after in my tiny tin can subcompact Toyota (I'm a college student and it was the only thing I was confident enough with my budget) when some idiot old man with a Range Rover swerved into my lane and I was forced into the left lane (thank God the left lane was clear)
Tbf I probably would've died in that situation but in the case I didn't and had a dash cam... At least I'd be getting my college paid for
2:46 you guys noticed the guy at the bus stop hitting the booth like crazy? 😆 😂
It's as if he's trying to get out, and not realizing there are only three walls.
Dude next to him is just acting like nothing is happening. I miss public transport.

This is ...just how it feels sometimes ... poetic. He stung like a bee though ...lol
welcome to toronto
I've had a Viofo dash cam for a couple of years now and it's a solid dash cam. I did have issues early on finding an SD card that would not fail. Once I put in a Transcend SD card, it's been flawless and very reliable.
Awesome, glad you found something that works for you Spencer! Transcend makes some good stuff.
i don't even research dash cams anymore, I always just wait for your reviews
Thanks Jaime!
How many dash cams do you need
@@hybridangel3403 if you can afford i buy one for the front and one for the back. sometimes i give my older ones away to my sister or brother. I know it might help them in court one day.
Hey Ronald, thank you for keeping it relatively polite and I'm happy to explain. Most of the other Top dash cam picks are terrible, they're clearly made by bots or by people who pull from Amazon's Top 50 list which is mostly terrible.
The other good reviewerss (VortexRadar and US Dash Cam) both have the Viofo A119 on their list. If you couldn't find their videos, perhaps it's you who are biased or have done a poor job researching cameras.
I accept your apology and my bad as well for coming out a bit strong with accusing you of not doing your research.
That wasn't me in the Vortex Radar video - that was Alex from BlackBoxMyCar. I've never met the creator.
My goal for my reviews is to come up with a set of criteria I think are important and then rank cameras against that. Viofo just happens to occupy the $80-$110 spot as I haven't seen anything better so far. I'm trying my best to find an alternative.
How would you improve the way I do things? Genuinely curious as there may be blinds spots I'm not aware of.
I love these reviews and recommend this channel to anyone looking for a dash cam. This guy will assist and answer any questions you ask him.
Thanks Gladson - I do my best, happy to hear I was helpful. Thank you for your help as well.
@Audry Wise BlackBoxMyCar does installs. You can do it yourself too... if you have patience and a great attention to detail :) Or... if you're ok with a wire hanging down the middle of your windshield. *face palm*
Car Cam Central Can you please update the prices of these Cameras? As the price point you’ve shown aren’t accurate
Could you compare pros and cons for dash cam vs motion cameras? Like battery life, image stabilization, and low video noise.
Can these be powered by USB or external power battery? I'm a US consumer. I need exceptional customer & tech support.

Do they record sound too?? I don’t want my insurance company hearing me singing my heart out before getting into a crash lol
I thinks its worth letting them hear you sing for 20 seconds rather than pay $2500 in damages that aren't your fault!
Most cameras allow you to disable audio recording through the menu options
That's actually all the insurance company is interested in, your voice. They'll charge you no matter what.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Simple just remove the sound before sending the video and most cameras allow you to turn off the mic if you don't want it to record sound
i have been using a viofo for 2 years now, has cleared me of 1 crash so far, and it is very sleek and not too noticeable.
Nice and congrats, not on the crash but for having a dash cam that helped you out
Your review and editing is on another level. The knowledge presented allows for the viewer to buy the best fit product.
Been waiting for this! Viofo progress on dashcams is unbeatable
Thanks! It is unbeatable right now but I'm hoping another company will do better in the future.
This is the most thorough, unbiased, detail-oriented Dash Cam reviewer on UA-cam.
Best dashcam reviewer by far online. Unbiased, insightful information for consumers. The only thing I would add for DR01 are a couple of things - I prefer suction mount since I do drive rental cars from time to time, and it's handy to move it from car to car. The DR01 also frequently needs to have the time / date set when not used for a while, which can be an annoyance. If you don't set the date / time, it may not record which is a big flaw. However, the DR01 just saved me in an accident recently where the footage made it clear to the police and insurance who was at fault. I will not drive without a dashcam ever, even in temporary loaner or rental vehicles.
Wow! 🤯 What a thorough reviewer!! Very much appreciate this! Heading over to your review of the Viofo A119V3 now!
I’m looking for a dash cam as a present to my sister who lives alone in a big city. You just took all the work out of researching for me! I was not looking for to it since I know nothing about dash cams; but I wanted to make sure I got something decent for her that didn’t break the bank. May even consider the duo.. Thanks sooo much!!
This is the best review channel I've seen in my entire life! It's so easy to understand and answers all my questions. Good job!
An excellent, comprehensive review of cameras...so good, I even logged into my youtube just to give him a thumbs up
Thanks Wail! Much appreciated!
GREAT review! I appreciate the no bias approach. I’m interested in the dual models, so I’ll research further. Thanks!
Thank you for this video Andrew. Perfect timing with the Christmas Holidays right around the corner. Cheers
Thanks for watching Robert and glad it came in time for you!
I had no idea that dashcams would have such a following on UA-cam. With so many options it makes it hard to choose. Your channel gives us tech heads and car enthusiasts a very clean and professional way of sorting out what cameras are trash and what we should be buying by weighing the important features that can often get confusing. I am really enjoying watching your videos and learning about this subject. Loving all the live comparisons when talking about resolution and bitrate as well as the zoom ins to show license plates. It's a really helpful example that I didn't even know I would like to have seen. Thank you so much for sharing this information, even more impressive without sponsorship. Great work!
Thanks Sam! I was surprised too when I first looked up what camera I should buy. I made the type of review I would have wanted back then.
Glad all the comparisons and the feature breakdowns helped you out. It certainly made it easier for me!
I don't think I've seen anyone else actually follow up on what the support of each company is like in such a clear and concise manner. Fantastic video!
Thanks Waq! I think it's important to consumers to know what kind of support you're going to get if something goes wrong or if you need technical help.
I have had The Viofo A119V3 for six weeks now and it is working very well. The video quality in the daylight is great! At night, the video quality is also great! I had the Viofo A119S. I now have that camera on my rear window and the video quality of this older camera is still working great for me. I have been using Viofo for the past three years with no problem. For me, Viofo is very reliable and i will stay with them. Great job again Andrew!!! Thank you!!
Nice! Glad it's been working out well for you JPGR! Hope it continues for as long as you need it to!
Exactly the sort of video I wanted as a first time dash cam buyer.
This quality of content is a guaranteed subscribe from me, lots of appreciated work gone into this vid
Most Excellent! I'll stop looking any further as your reviews are most most excellent.
Man, youre doing an excellent and honest job here! Highly appreciated! Thank you very much!
Thanks Greg!
This guy is SO good. I depend on his thoughts on dash cams.
Thanks Space!
I can tell you have put a lot of work into these reviews! They are thorough and you explain everything extremely well!! Fantastic Job!!
Thanks Woah! It's the kind of review I would have wanted when buying a product. Glad you enjoyed it.
By far, the most informative, no nonsense review video with important details on the go. Thanks. Am now a subscriber.
Solid video as always! Great explanations for your reasoning and definitely very helpful! Looking forward to more of your content!
Thank you for your help as always Sam!
I own a Viofo V3 and this video made me feel that much better.
You made a great choice David!
you should start reviewing other devices as well. some of the best work ive ever seen. incredibly impressed how into detail you went. Exactly what i was looking for. couldnt believe you even researched the call service centers and then mapped them for us. You a G... thanks bruh
Thanks for the great review. I see much work went into it with great info like the sensor specs, all important samples, clear concise info, but still pertinent info, and the very professional graphics!
Great stuff man. I've just bought a new car, I've had my car broken into twice and am looking for a budget cam that allows me to access clips when I leave my car parked somewhere. Is this a common feature on most cams?
Also a Toronto resident here, nice to see you drive through the Financial District! haha
Wow, it’s the second video update! Thank you! Always the most useful and unbias review, thank you for the hard work!
Thanks John, I try hard to make the best content possible. Thank you for letting me know.
3:56 Thank you! Every video I watch always talks about the heat resistance but nobody ever mentions which is better in cold or if either are good and as someone whos moving to a damn cold place half the year its greatly appreciated
Thank you for this video. Your videos helps a lot. Viofo keeps getting better. Just bought 2 A119V3 and 3 A129 Pro for my friends and relatives.
Hey Faiz, thank you for watching! Glad it helped. Viofo has been killing it and you got great cameras. I do hope that someone can challenge them on value so they keep innovating.
Wow, you really are very thorough, especially the effects of hot temperature. That's important to me because I live in southern California, where sun is out all the time.
It's one of the top killers of dash cams besides a manufacturing or assembly defect. Plus I know a lot of my viewers come from sunny states.
Thanks for doing these videos man. I bought the vifo a119 because of you.👌
Thank you for trusting my reviews! Great choice!
@djavocard yep used them all summer and no problems. Also works really good in winter too here in Canada.
I've been watching a bunch of videos to figure out which dash cam to purchase...I'm glad I finally came across your video, I just want to say Thank You for doing the proper testing and being so detailed and informative. Now I know which dash cam to actually buy.
Dude. This guy. I think I love you. Your reviews are perfection.
I'm glad you guys do recommendations for hot weather as well. I live in Texas where it easily gets to 100+ every summer and I'd rather not have a battery swell and explode in my car lol. I bought the G1W-C a few years back due to your review, and it hasn't failed me yet. But I think it's time to get something with better video quality haha.
Hey KB, you're welcome! There's a bunch of my viewers in similar situations as you. I think for the United States Street Guardian's products and their team really kill it for a well-performing, heat-resistant camera. Their SG9663DC PRO is a good choice.
Your past reviews of dash cams and memory cards were very helpful. I bought the V3 following your recommendation and it is exactly as you described. Thanks!
I spent a month looking for a dash cam and was completely overwhelmed with all the options and reviews. I'm so glad I found you and your video. I just ordered based on your suggestions! hope all goes well
What did you pick? Any updates?
This was a great walk through which assisted me to understand the technology and important points to watch for. Thank you for the great work!
This was so helpful, thanks so much!
You're welcome Hannah! Thanks!
Thank you for your research!
Thank you for watching money!
Well done, Andrew. The information and insights you provide on your videos is very helpful. :)
Wish all youtubers were as classy and straight to the point as you. A+ man
Thank you!
Just discovered your channel ... and it's AWESOME !!! Wonderful, I'm in the process of get my first Dashcam, but didn't know anything about it. Now thanks to your reviews that has changed. Thank you again. I'm subscribed from now on.
I watch all your videos even though I already own one after following your recommendations long ago. One bit of feedback, I would recommend running a de-esser filter over your voice track, I particularly noticed the sibilance in this video, 2:00 - 2:15 at the beginning and end of words. Thank you for all your effort and professionalism.
Hey Benny, thank you for following me all this time. I appreciate the feedback! I had listened to de-essing plugins but I haven't found a significant change in sibilance. I'm probably doing something wrong as I haven't put that much time into educating myself. I'll look into it for the next video.
I was curious about your comment because I also do post-production work. I couldn't tell the difference. I'm listening from my smartphone though
I have the A119V2. Love it. FYI Arizona heat is tough on dash cams. The GPS adapter sets the camera back off the windshield and has eliminated the heat issues with my camera.
Awesome, glad to hear it's worked out for you in Arizona! I didn't think about the offset which I imagine allows for better airflow.
-Andrew
Amazing detail, wish every review was like this
Thinking of getting a dashcam but needed the comparative information you provide in your video. You put together a very professional and well thought out presentation! Thank you!
Just got my first car back in December, and i've been wondering on what dash cam to get. This helped out so much. Im getting the VIOFO A119V2. I will definitely share this video with friends and family.
Hi there
Did you purchase it? If so how is It?
How'd you like it
I thought you would have more subscribers based on the quality of the video, you're so underrated
Geez man you put all your heart soul and guts and money into this! Thankyou!
The sheer detail in this video... Definitely deserves a like!
Thanks Hans! You get a like back!
After 3 months of driving with A119 v3, I can really recommend it. Great quality!
PS. Don't forget to buy CPL filter ;) Worth having!!
Hey Klu, awesome, happy to hear it worked out for you. CPL is definitely a great addition.
Sorry but what is CPL??
@@aveno66 It's a filter that reduces glare. It fits onto lens of the camera.
I live in Texas so it’s always over 90 here. Do you recommend it for this type of weather?
@@jackiemonique844 I'd say if there is a lot of sun shining on your dash, CPL filter is a must. I took 2 screenshots with and without the filter for comparison. I will post them later here.
are these cams capable of recording rear view? or do I have to purchase them separately?
I've been looking for a good dash cam but didn't know where to turn and knew I had to do some research. So glad I came across your video! Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your unbiased and extremely helpful reviews. I want to buy 3 cameras for Christmas presents (one for my son, one for my granddaughter and one for my grandson) and couldn’t figure out what brand and style to get. I read numerous reviews on different cameras on amazon and the more I read, the more confused I got, but thanks to you, I now know I’ll be buying 3 Viofo A119V3 cameras. THANK YOU!!!
Great review.
I would love if you can review the A129 duo PRO. The 4k version of the duo viofo cam. Have been looking for reviews on that, but no one does a better review than you!
Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago
Thanks Mike! I am very interested in the A129 PRO, seems like a good price point for the front-back market. I will do the U1000 first though as premium cameras need an update and I don't want to be covering Viofo all the time.

Thanks Jam, I'm creating the reviews I would have wanted. It's tough work but I can see how it's been helping a lot of people.
This is a fantastic quick review video to help users gather info and narrow the field a bit. Thank you very much. Well done!
I literally just witnessed a hit and run and then proceeded to give a very basic description of the car to the police. I'm kicking myself for not having a dash cam. This video will be a great help to me, so I can be prepared for next time.
I just installed my A129 last week
Great choice Sticky!

Hi, can u please suggest me best dash cam for taxi, which include front rear and inside recording, thanks
Hi, I haven't looked into taxi cameras in a while. Anker ROAV's DUO, Viofo A129 DUO IR, and the BlueSkySea B2w all seem good to me. Capacitors, proper infrared cameras and good video quality.
I’m looking for a camera that will also record when detecting motion. My daughter has someone door dinging her vehicle at school. Any suggestions?
I Have To Say, Andrew... What A Great And Detailed Video... U Spent Alot Of Time And Energy On This... 2 Thumbs Up...
I watched your other video on the 5 best budget models and then this one. It was extremely helpful and enlightening that even the cheapest cameras are worth the money. For the price of $40 to $50 I could afford to buy a few (For all the cars) and even double them up in a single vehicle.
With all the Californians flooding to my state with their god-awful driving, a dash cam is a must-have.
This was so dope, love it! Thank you man!
Concise and your night and day comparisons are great! Thank you sir!
I like the immense study into all of these. Great help.
