Thank you for this. After all these years, it's still difficult to watch. My home was at the very edge, just east of Flying W (which burnt to the ground on Saturday) as the bird flies. I was evacuated with the 35K + on Tuesday. The hills around my home were black for the rest of that year, but my house was standing. I live in Grand Junction now, and although I lived in Co Spgs for 9 yrs, the memory of those horrible 3 days stands out above all other memories. Like thousands of people, I was very traumatized. This in fact was hard to watch, but interesting information in retrospect.
I changed accounts but all thank you I remember when he left we were coming back from a funeral and we sped down I-25 it took us 20 minutes less to go from Denver he grabbed his gear and took off didn’t see him until July 5th he is in the gazette one of the firefighters eating sandwiches covered in soot

I remember seeing the whole skyline light up from this fire all the way from fountain Colorado
