I was born and raised here. There is another cave under the kissing camels. It's blocked off by bars now but your flying camera can probably get into it. There is also another huge set of caves across from the cave off the winds that we used to play at as kids
Sounds are awesome as well. There's a place near Manitou Springs called Red Rock Open Space whick is kind of like the other side of Garden of the Gods. When I was there a few years ago that big quarry was full of thousands of goldfish.
All of that included Manitou Springs Cliff Dwellings and all of the surrounding area sure looks like the remains of a giant cedar tree. Read Ezekiel 31 as a literal reading and look at all the like kind areas around the world including Roxboro Park, Eduardo Springs and the Flat Irons in Boulder. All them areas just mentioned sure resemble large pieces or shards of cedar wood.
Cool video... I have seen most of the things in mushroom park.. but i did not know about the hidden bathroom is it in mushroom park also or another part of the park?
I grew up here. It's a shame what people and the government have done to this place. It used to be a fun place to go and explore in the 70s and early 80s. Now, people are herded through like cattle. I didn't look. Have you done a vid on Palmer park? I feel stupid now😂😅😂
I grew up about 2 miles from balanced rock as a kid in the 90's, we used to explore and run around the entire park all the time. The only place we would avoid was the caretakers house near the trading post because of his dogs. It's not the same now, like you said, people are herded through like cattle. Everything but the "designated" trails are roped off and you can get ticketed for going off trail. It's a damn shame.
Would be nice if maybe you provided what appears to be first name or abbreviation like Wll. with last name Ketner and date 1731 which would allow us to look too
Unfortunately I dont know what his first name was. But supposedly there's either an initial or full name next to the year. There are so many carvings inside and out that it would be difficult to find.
Oh WOW. I thought I knew the Garden of the Gods, but you have shown me how much I don't know. Please add a map to direct us to the Mushroom Garden, the Little Balanced Rock, the Lost Restroom, and the other fabulous finds you made. Or tell us where we can get a map of these lost relics locations.
I became curious about the lost rocks after seeing an old postcard from Mushroom Park on Ebay. Most of that area has since by covered over by brush and trees, but they're all still there. To find Mushroom Park (which is very close to Balanced Rock) do a little exploring on the dirt road just above it (Rampart Road). You should be able to find the entrance fairly easily.
Don’t care about who’s property! Give back the land and caves back to the animals that onced lived there! At least! Why seal up a home that was never your home!
I'm 72 years now When we were teenagers myself a friend would go to a small opening a couple of miles down a steep hillside behind cave of the winds Very hard to find We knew it as Hukies Cove at least that's what we called it Once you squeezed past the opening IT WAS INCREDIBLE it had many many huge rooms to keep going you had to squeeze through the stove pipe This was well into the cave by now I don't think a grown adult could make it Anyway that led into more rooms We figured it was another part of Cave of the Winds. If you did not have a flashlight you could not see your hand in front of you're face. We thought Indians brought people in and left them to die..Come to think of it we never found any bones HA. You would never find you're way out and fall to your death without light. ANYONE else out there remember this. I know it's been sealed up now probably in the late 1970's or early 80's
Very interesting. I know the originally entrance for Cave of the Winds was down in Williams Canyon. They had to blow open the one they're using now. You can still hike down near the original entrance if you sign a waiver with Cave of the Winds. There are some hard to get to cave openings still visible down there.
@@Mine-Finder Pretty Cool I'm getting a little to old to crawl around on my belly and squeezing through cracks now, but it was great fun. Now I fossil hunt when I can I live east of the Springs and now they have closed off corral bluffs loved fossil hunting around there for several years till the college found out about it.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully I'll have time to do a video on Williams Canyon below Cave of the Winds soon.
I used to be a wrangler at Academy Riding Stables 20+ years ago.
I was not ready for the soundtrack to go so absurdly hard.

Another great production, thank you very much.
Even rocks can say things were a lot easier back in the day, including erosion of earlier layers.
Those mushroom rocks are amazing. Someday they'll all topple. I'm amazed that some of them are still standing.

What is the music that is playing, please.
Lovely shots of melted buildings with the unmelted metal artifacts embedded in them!
Music just fine. I have some interesting pics inside fenced off areas in GOG I will like to share with you. How can I send them to you?

Very close to Steamboat Rock, which was once a part of Mushroom Park.
@Mine-Finder
I did not explore over on that side to much... thanks

@@Mine-Finderperfect. I have a good idea now. 👍
Thanks much, my friend.
Awesome. To see. :)
Looks like it had a lot of backbone. Thanks.
Make the music louder next time.
Music is way too loud and overbearing
Then stay the hell away from our park. We don't want you here
Not just the music but the explosions.
Need help with your volume control 🤔💥🧨😂😅🤣
I had to mute the vid, very annoying sound track. It was a better park when I was there in the 60's.
This comment is garbage. Stay the hell off of UA-cam. We don't want you here.
Went to school with Danny
it was so much better in the 70s. so much lees people. i wouldn't go there now.
Lots of rattlesnakes there
I've only seen one inside the park. Tons of them out on the prairie on the southeastern side of town.
I've been going there for 14 years and maybe seen three? If you do run into one don't try and pet it, that's my free advice.
