    This has more mass appeal and wider audience, simpler connectivity, from the brand that makes the board, for someone ridin streets. Exway have taken somethin and made it more accessable to the average Exway rider, in a simpler plug and play package.
    I will wait and see how it does long-term, how popular it is or isn't, whether there's any issues etc but I love that they offer this and a simple way to attach it for the days you need/want and just remove it for shorter runs.

    • @ajplant96
      @ajplant96 Рік тому +1

      Then dial it in a bit? It’s not a dkp board so it’s not gonna turn as tight, you can loosen it up a bit and have channel trucks turn as good as dkp in some scenarios but you lose stability which is more what kaly is about anyway.

    To answer your question about what I ride, I have 4, an Onsra black carve 1, an Onsra black carve 2, an Onsra Challenger (all direct drive - I like the quiet) and a Backfire Hammer (yeah, I got the tail wing for a laugh).

    I started with exway but it got stolen after a week, then I got a Raldey, it was a water sponge, then I got the atlas 2 WD and that got water damage after a month so I currently ride a refurbished Skatebolt Tornado II while I get my pro deck the drivetrain and charger and remote I need, and by July I will need an aux setup because I’m planning interstate travel, this video has been very useful to me and I will return to it when I get my own AUX Pack.

      @@MoshMob Cheers that means a lot 🤙 Btw I had the OG Atlas 4WD and when I ran it as 2WD I found it was a great idea to remove the front 2 belts from the pulleys. It reduces the drag / pulley resistance and your 2WD range (on your 4WD pro) is improved. Hope they send you out a fresh charger

      @@ASeSkater It really is, most fun I've had on a short electric skateboard yet. Previously I tried the short board from Verreal Board but it was basically using their stock F1 system which had too much torque; to the point where I couldn't stop it from doing manuals even on the slowest speed mode! Thankfully, this board is more tame on the takeoff with a Meepo V3 Ling-Yi ESC and 4 brake modes, but that tameness could likely be influenced by its mid-sized 105 donut wheels.

    • @ASeSkater
      @ASeSkater  Рік тому +1

      @@M0LHA Sorry mate unsure on amps but RE the USB ports they are a 25W USB-A port and a 100W USB-C PD port. Atlas Pro 4WD with AUX is an insane setup!

    • @M0LHA
      @M0LHA Рік тому +1

      @@ASeSkater That's a lot of juice out of those ports. Very interesting. It may even be possible to trickle charge another board given the sheer size of the battery.
      We've had it a few times in London where someone has run out of power and has had to be towed by another rider. This could potentially give someone that little bit of extra range to find a stop point.
      How long did it take to arrive? I believe with the Chinese new year I doubt anything will rock up till Feb/March (mind you the weather is awful anyway).
      Not sure if you're still an ambassador, any ideas if they are considering direct drive in 4x4 config? That'd be cool.
      One final question as I've built my own DIY "aux battery" (nothing of this size though). Does the aux battery hook into the BMS of the boards battery, or is it in parallel with the existing battery (ie, in theory the ESC could pull more amps in total, less risk of voltage sag under high load)? It'd be interesting to find out.

    • @ASeSkater
      @ASeSkater  Рік тому +2

      @@M0LHA May well be. This battery packs more juice than the EB70 I reviewed a short while ago which literally has plug sockets on it. I bet with enough persistence someone will conjure up a cable to make this battery work with DIY and other non-Exway boards.
      It took around 2 weeks to arrive but bare in mind I got this pack for review. I think they start shipping out normal AUX orders out this month.
      Direct drive is still in the works I'm pretty sure. They decided to release gear drive first. I've seen an 4wd hub Atlas Pro too so it's just DD left. Making it 4wd won't be difficult as their dual ESC's and general modularity on the Atlas boards is brilliant.
      To your final question, it runs in parallel with the existing battery on the board. Once connected the bat reading on the AUX pack and remote sync up, and by charging one battery you charge both which is pretty neat.

    Sorry for the unrelated comment but you have experience and give honest opinions. I have an opportunity to buy what looks to be an essentially unused Evolve GTX Bamboo for $430 US. Is it worth it or should I wait and spend more for a more recent board? Thanks for your time.

    • @ASeSkater
      @ASeSkater  Рік тому

      Hey buddy. The GTX Bamboo was my second ever board and I put 3000 miles on it so I know it well. At the time it was amazing. Carves beautifully. Can take all terrain wheels and many street wheels. The main downfall of that board is the battery. It sags quite a lot. After 50% you need to start thinking about getting home. You have far better options today. If you want to stay with evolve and go for a bamboo deck, their GTR or GTR series 2 bamboo used should only be a few hundred bucks more than that GTX you’re looking at. Just be careful not to buy one that’s been ridden for thousands of miles as the battery cells will have degraded. I rode the gtr for a few thousand miles too and in general the battery is pretty good. It held up great for me and I made a review on this channel 👍 best of luck

    It’s not massively popular yet but these charge packs themselves have been around for a while more than just mountainboards so this isn’t exway being revolutionary. Chi batteries build these types of packs as do some other battery builders (local to me there’s a group of evolve riders using them made by a builder in the local scene), exway will however make it a more popular range solution which they kinda needed to since they thought 4p and 4wd would be a good idea for some reason.

    • @ASeSkater
      @ASeSkater  Рік тому +2

      That is true. I'd been talking to chi a couple of months ago and they were supposed to send one out but it didn't materialise. I loved the concept and wished it had USB ports and had a better hookup system and hardware. Then Exway came out with this which was music to my ears lol

    TWO.. I can see that your belts are exposed... yet I was made to believe that Exway made belt covers that was standard on all Exway PRO Atlas boards... ?.. Reason I'm asking is cos the current covers SUCK.. lots of belt rubbing.. (stop it!!..that trail of thought).. I can see the belts failing because of this issue.. Your views?

      Hey. Exway are designing a different version for the original atlas 2wd and 4wd boards. As far as I know the enclosed belt covers don’t come for free with the pro. That might have been the case for a short while for a promotion. I personally haven’t had any issues with things getting stuck in the stock belt covers or any rubbing, but I haven’t taken the board off road either. If I went off road I would probably take them off

      @@ASeSkater That's interesting to hear. I was informed by the sales team that November 2022 the Aux would be already available for both versions.. but we will see? I mean it's not like I can afford it at the moment, having just done Christmas. I guess some of the information I was led to believe about the covers isn't true? Or maybe some people had them already installed upon purchase? The clearance for me is pretty much non existent with one of my belts and it actually stop my wheel from turning freely.
