Water condition for the American River running through downtown Sacramento, CA, is low, making steelhead fishing very tough, especially in the Middle of the American River. As a matter of fact, there is only one additional drift boat that we saw all day working the same area as us. We did catch two fish. Please watch this video to find out how they were caught! I was fishing with a buddy of mine. He decided to pause and have a cold chicken drumstick when the fish got hungry too. Dave fought that nice trout in the rain with the drumstick in his mouth to the finish. Looked like J.U. Great times. Fish on!

Some great wildlife sightings. Nice fish, steelhead is still on my list.
Lots of steelheads here, but they are near the hatchery where it’s combat fishing 🤣. We enjoy drifting through and occasionally get one 👍. The wildlife sighting is a constant. Grateful for the visit! 👍🙏🎣JU Hammah⚒ Bam! 💥 Bam! 💥
The upper stretch is where all the fish are...but that's where the people are too! Sometimes it's nice just to float the river in peace.
