As a bank-fisher only ( as I have no boat) I find a lot of this information very helpful, just need to find rivers that are A). open to public B). Have enough of a bank for me to fish from C) that have Steelies or Coho fish. This year im hoping to finds at least 3 or 4 rivers here in Oregon that meet the requirements. Heres to 2024 and tight lines and chrome domes
@@-Bored_Gamer- it’s best on weekday if you can ever get the day off I went on a Monday and had the whole river to myself got lucky and hooked a 6lb summer steelhead around 9:45 am I have it on my channel if you wanna check it out 🔥
It's my goal this year to try and hook unto my 1st steelhead and or salmon. I tried when I was 17. But had no luck. Watching the content you guys put out keeps the motivation in wanting to meet this goal.
I managed to hook a summer steelhead in Oregon in December! First time ever going alone I can say it was almost tears of joy! It was a wild 26inches 6 pounds off a nymph. I’m addicted now
Great informative video! Grew up fishing that river! My house is actually in the background of one of your clips. The early run of that strain is almost non existent so you were definitely searching for gold.
Hey guys, would love to hear your knowledge on what is going on in the p.n.w. over fish numbers. The whole scheme of reasons why. Inquiring minds need to know. ❤ the hard work guys
Go fish Argentina this year for salmon on the glacier king river common 60lbers y’all the only people who can make that video happen for us on UA-cam 😅
Gotta say addicted made okuma relevant used to see only lami & Gs on the river now it’s center pins Okumas or customs or the guy like me who bangs fish out on a cheap trout rod I break expensive ones 2 times a year 😂
So strange to me how vastly different the Great Lakes set ups are compared to the PNW. I would never fish a rod under 11 foot and we loose the hi his line after a few years in the game. 40 pound braid is not a thing here not even for Kings. I do use 20 pound braid for Kings and early steel but we use a floro shot line and leader. I need to get out west!
Love the content! Been to a few local rivers here, but its a bit early for most of them. Also went to the Olympic Peninsula, no luck (blown out). I really get the "chasing unicorn" feeling, as I haven't gotten a single bite so far this winter. :( One idea for a video, from what I've noticed from other commenters: what does it take to go from bank fishing to boat fishing? Doesn't need to be super extensive, but my dad has told me "don't float down a river for the first time without someone there who's done it before and knows the river well". That put a huge stop on my thoughts to get a small boat for myself, but I'd love to hear your guys' thoughts! P.S. Your worm head hooks are a bit fragile. When pinching the barb for the Olympic Peninsula, 2/4 of ours snapped. Didn't even pinch that hard. Just letting you guys know for quality control.
The one thing I wish you guys did was say the location your fishing. I understand why you wouldn’t as such a large channel dropping the location would flood a river with fisherman. As someone just trying to get into it, it would be nice if you would drop some locations.
And you think Washington state used to be the Mecca of catching steelhead of course the pencil pusher’s behind the desk don’t fish don’t care, but you guys still did good congratulations
Hey I love all your Videos !! I'm a hard fishing Alaskan with alot of Salmon knowledge .. your next Alaskan trip you should hook up with my guide friend Mike Szczesny owner and Guide with Reel Alaskan Fishing .. He Mainly guides the Kasilof River south of the Kenai River for King and Red Salmon with his lodge on the Banks of the Kenai River in Soldotna .. Check him out !! He is such an incredible guide with unsurpassed knowledge of this fishery .. and flat out a great human to share a day of your life with ... plus I would love to meet another fellow angler with the passion you have
Favorite river close to me, spent probably at least a thousand hours out there last year fishing. No steelhead yet but got 2 chinook jacks, 4 coho jacks, a nice 10lb chrome coho henand a 12lb fire truck buck along with a bunch of trout though. One of these days I’ll get a steely on that river! Probably gonna have to get a raft to float down like y’all do to get one though😂 some of them spots us bank fisherman don’t have access to are killer out there
I do much better on the Cow at least for Coho, got about 17 Coho in October out of there, mostly on bluefoxes. Even got a dime 13lb Chinook on a bluefox while using my trout rod because my salmon rod broke😂 sadly couldn’t keep because it was wild and retention of nooks wasn’t allowed at the time.

Same dude been thinking of getting group together and buying our own boat, and if adx likes this comment, they will buy us boats!
Bro same I only bank fish (never been on a drift boat) I fish the rogue a lot! Maybe we can link to fish 🔥 I wanna catch a steelhead with beads so bad
@@FlyTech541 I agree. I'll be sure to head out to the rouge river one if these weekends soon.

Always fun watching you guys score some amazing fish... Shout out from Central Washington! from XPLRNW
Took that Midwest float style to heart after steelhead alley. Lol
need those sliding floats ASAP
the why we didn't catch fish exchange was spot on.. lol
Fantastic video and explanation of your set-ups. Can't wait for the snow up in Alaska to melt so I can head down for RB/DV fishing.
Let's go
When will the steelehead movie be available to see online? I'm on the other coast. Loved the excuses bit. 😅
Shortly after the premieres. Not sure exactly when.
The reality is piece on why they didn’t catch anything was freaking hilarious🤣😂. Love it!
Great video guy's can't wait until pdx sportsman show.
Loved this! I wanna put a DIY rod rack like that on my raft. Which rod rack is that?
Another great video!!

Mending line is way easier using a longer rod. Me personally I’d go no shorter then 10 foot. I use a 11’6 rod
That was a fun video! #DontBeMarlin 👍🎣
Sounds like cam needs some rod sleeves 😂
Did you hook your arm with the rod? 😂
You didn’t see no fish because Marlins snacks were in the way.
😂😂

7:10 what camera you using?
What does limited lifetime warranty cover? And doesn’t cover? I have a few x-series and I haven’t broken any yet but what is covered?
#Dontbeamarlin #setthosehooks great video guys! Makes me miss Oregon fishing

Feel bad you guys don't get good runs, We can go to almost any creek up here and get 3 to 5 minimum on good water condition days most of the time.
I love you guys
