7 years after you made this video, I found it lol. What a lovely ornament! I think this would be great to work on here and there throughout the year to have a few ready for Christmas. Thanks for sharing!
I'm so glad someone in the Facebook group linked this video! I have one someone gave me made of fabric and it is too heavy for a real tree. Can't wait to get some eggs and make this with paper. Thank you, Maymay!
I love these ornaments. I made them last year with paper and fabric also I used the eraser on top of a pencil to push pins in otherwise you have some sore fingers after making a few.Gave these as gifts and they were a hit Happy crafting
I love making these. I put a piece of paper down at the egg end (point) before I start I find it helps cover the styrofoam from showing. Love your videos!!!
I made these about 5 years ago and love them. I folded an cut mine different but they turn out the same. Only part I didn't like was my fingers got so sore from the stick pins. Turned out cute. angel hugs Debby
Debby, pick up a box of fabric bandaids when you get your supplies. Put a bandaid on your pushing finger, it might make it more comfortable. You would also be able to get a good grip on those pins when poking through the paper. I guess a thimble might work, but it's harder to pick up the pins.
Get urself a margesh magnet and steel sheet and put pins on it and just pick off as needed as the plate willmagnitize. Keep pibs there and act as a large holder to pick up pins without fumbling over free ones on your work surface. Having trouble finding sheet of steel? Flatten a food can.
So pretty! I picked up the wrong kind of eggs, the paper mache eggs! I dont think I'll get those tiny pins in those! But, when I get the right kind, I could get carried away with this.😏 I have so many scraps! And 6x6 tablets. Were you able to make two full ornaments with one 12x12" sheet? I've seen these made with the circle punches, too.
Just found you. Loved watching you make this pinecone ornament with folded papers. I see this was 6 years ago. How can I see your other friends share their ornaments that you referred in this video? Also where can I find the Christmas tree with ornament that's the viewers sent you? Many thanks.
Hi Maymay, I love this!!!! I thought you were making an ornament from an actual pinecone. LOL. These are super cute, I will have to give these a try! Hugs, Stacy
hi i just love this orniment, i have made many of these but instead of using pins i glued them. i was worried about my grand children getting hold of them, hot glue worked really wel xx
Take a square of your paper and put it on the pointy end and secure with pins , then start pinning like sh3 did on this video . Then you don’t see the styrofoam at the point . We do this same technique but use ribbon .
Shelly Wallin you can i do fabric ones just like this i did one paper to see and it worked awsome i used my hot glue gun on it bc i ran out of pins and it worked awsome

Put a cover of tissue paper over the whole egg and keep the dust falling as you handle the egg.

I made these out of ribbon 25 years ago and still have them. I love them!
B Wiggins I made them too ,that long ago, and I still have mine as well.

That is so pretty Maymay :)
I asked you to make this from a real pine cone. The candle ring is the answer.....Thank you! :)
How long did this project take? You’re such a joy to watch and listen to.
If you didn't want the styrofoam to show through at the start you could probably add a square before you add the folded pieces.
Shelly Wallin you can i do fabric ones just like this i did one paper to see and it worked awsome i used my hot glue gun on it bc i ran out of pins and it worked awsome
You could put a dab of coordinating paint on the end as an alternative.
Love love love this! My in laws have a kids bible study group and want me to figuared a Christian craft for the kids ages 8-13. Help!
CAN YOU PLEASE HELP HERE???
Which tool are you using for cutting the paper strips????
I like this, but not sure that I would give it to someone with small children because of all the pins.
Love it
