    You were my inspiration many years ago when I wanted to paint and was poor and couldn't afford classes...I was divorced, raising 2 little boys without help. But while channel surfing one day, I found you on QVC! Your paint sets were on sale and I could pay in five payments. So after watching you work your magic, I placed my order! And my dreary life changed as soon as your pkg. arrived! I humbly thank you for helping women like me, follow there dreams of joining the art world! I know there's a place for you in heaven! Sincerely, Marie Dawson 💕🎨

      I am so blessed when I hear stories like yours honey! I so wanted to help with the income while we had Seven children so I had to do this at home. Being able to be on QVC and PBS helps me make it possible to help others.
      Thank you for picking up that brush and I feel blessed to be part of you finding the art world honey! Love donna

      Hi Marie. I was just searching for how to videos on ornament painting. I was moved by your story, then saw your name. My sister who passed this year was Diane Marie Dawson. My name is Michelle. I don't usually ask for replies to my comments, but would love to just chat with you. Christmas blessings to you, Michelle Dawson

    Hi Donna! Thank you for another awesome video! So timely too ... I almost bought clear ornaments, I was going to glitter the inside white and paint 'something', but I didn't know what to paint! So, back to the store I will go this week. I love these, and I am looking forward to more designs. Your One Stroke technique is genius and anyone can do it if they try. It is really as easy as it looks. xoxo

  • @jenniferwylde1111
    @jenniferwylde1111 2 роки тому

    Ok, so I've never painted a glass Christmas ornament before, and I bought the really round ones that are about 5" and they were harder to paint of course, though I really wanted the big Christmas balls, however I think they came out pretty awesome with your guidance. The only thing I'm wondering is if there is either a gloss or a spray I can apply to maybe just the areas I painted so they appear glossy or shiny? Almost like porcelain? Only because the paint is so pretty but once it dries, it fades just a little and the sharpness of the colors fade as well. So I was hoping there was some way to lock in the colors to get them more vibrant and preserve them. Thank you so much.

    • @DonnaSDewberry
      @DonnaSDewberry  2 роки тому

      Acrylic Lacquer Spray can be used, but if you use the FolkArt Enamel Acrylics, they dry glossy.

    How are you getting your paint to stick to the glass? I am using the folk art glass paint.

    • @DonnaSDewberry
      @DonnaSDewberry  21 день тому

      Plaid FolkArt Enamel paint is made to adhere well to glass and other smooth surfaces. The glass must be clean of surface dirt or oil, including finger prints, etc. Wash the glass with soap and water or wipe with alcohol to remove dirt and oil and let dry before painting. Avoid touching the area you will be painting with your bare hands. Load plenty of paint on the brush and lay it on with less pressure. Watch my glass painting lessons on Practice Strokes on my channel.

    Do you seal the painted parts with a matte glaze to protect the paint from fading over time?

    • @DonnaSDewberry
      @DonnaSDewberry  Рік тому

      These paints won't fade over time unless they are in constant bright sunlight. The Plaid FolkArt Enamels and Multi-Surface acrylics have a sealer built in, so sealing isn't required.

    What are glass brushes and what is the difference between a glass brush and a normal brush? I've been watching your channel because I make painted ornaments. Your Onestroke technique is perfect.

    • @DonnaSDewberry
      @DonnaSDewberry  7 років тому +2

      Miki Gain the glass brushes have soft bristles which lets the paint stay on the glass instead of lifting it back up! I sell on onestroke.com

    • @mikitta47
      @mikitta47 7 років тому

      Ahh thank you. I was looking at them. They may work for what I do -- essentially layers of triple thick gloss glaze between painted elements on paper. Results in a surface that has some depth and looks like glass.

    • @mikitta47
      @mikitta47 7 років тому

      scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-0/p206x206/12391987_10205588407576411_7605593984821294509_n.jpg?oh=fbac2981144d353e0fb7a412b1f81d75&oe=5ACA54B8
      That's the painting I do. Glass brushes might help since I separate each design element with triple-thick gloss glaze and the surface gets very glass-like after a few layers.
