Squirrels 🐿 are more likely the ones eating the pine nuts inside pinecones. You have several varieties of them in Nova Scotia. You even have 2 of them that fly . And wild hares do you like to chew on the pine cones to keep their teeth worn down. Congratulations I'm glad you found the pinecones you needed to make your cute little Penguins. 🌲
Oh my goodness. It's me and Sweetgum balls!! I went everywhere. Drove all the way to the Georgia mountains. Brought home bags full for Christmas ornaments. Came home.......stepped on some at the mailbox of my friend down the street. I felt so silly
I am in rural South Carolina. Our home backs up to woods and they are FULL of pine cones! Wish you could come get some. We also have the round balls that come off of, I think, the sycamore tree. We called them porcupine eggs when our children were young and now with our 6 grands. I have seen these used to make bears, snowmen, hedgehogs, and porcupines. They are a lot of fun.
I have lots of pine trees in my yard with lots of pine cones. The squirrels eat the pine cones. What I make out of my pine cones are bears. Big ones and little ones. I make brown, black and white bears. I take the a pine cone for the body. Take smaller ones for the arms and legs. Cut off a small one for the nose. And take a bigger pine cone tear it apart and use it for the ears. Then I tie a bowl around the neck. I like what you did. 😃👍🇺🇲
@@susandickerson2663 I don't know how to put a picture on here, or I would. But you take one of the pinecone to make the body. Now take two pinecones to make the bottom legs and glue them to the side of the bigger pinecone. The bear will be in a sitting position. Now take two more small pinecones and glue to the upper side body of the bear . Now take a small pinecone a cut the top off to make his nose. Then take a bigger pine cones and take two of pieces off that, then glue it of the ears. Then I put a ribbon around the neck and tie it into a bow. You can have the sitting or hang them on your tree. I hope I explained it for you understand what I am saying. Hope this helps you. 🙂I'm sorry but I forgot to tell you to take two small black beads for the eyes.
@@heartslessons6243 yes you explained it great , I will add your bear idea to this adorable penguin idea to do with my Grandchildren on Thanksgiving Eve - it’s our tradition to make a special ornament each year , placing it on the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving Day . (We didn’t do last year ) We have a special tree put up in the formal dining area with all of our crafted ornaments over the years - I have 6 Grandchildren so you can image how special the decorated tree is . It would be nice if we could post our completed penguin onto this thread ,anyway thanks for your time and idea .
I found this channel through your video about LoneFox saving your channel and I am SO HAPPY he did because I’m now binge watching all your videos. Absolutely loving your content so far!! I’ve been a long time LF fan and have been introduced to sooo many channels through his videos, but this one is by far the most wholesome. I love the clips of you picking pine cones together. So sweet!
Since they sold out before, you might want to make a few more then eight. Anything that makes you smile will be a good seller no matter where you are. So cute! Hearing the puppies in the background is so adorable!!
Ok, I just found your channel and IDK what kind of crafter you are or what kind of things you do….but what I DO KNOW is that you have been blessed with a husband that loves you very much. He actually got genuinely excited for you finding the right pine cones!!! You are a lucky woman to have a man that is interested in what you are doing, takes time out of his day to support you and be with you…and gets excited for you even for the ‘little’ victories, like finding the right pine cones. 💕
I have a white pine in my yard...huge and old.... squirrel s eat them...cute to watch ...they look like they are eating corn on the cob... I'm in Michigan..love you guys👍😊
Oh my gosh...I just found you...I live in upstate NY (Pulaski...just off the Salmon River that runs off Lake Ontario) & I live on the 8th floor of an adult only apt bldg. I am currently looking at about 500 7-8" pine cones hanging from branches...& know that there are 100's more on the ground as I am only looking at the tops of 3 trees on property that is surrounded by these huge pines. Please...make a trip here sometime & load up on them...It is a huge enjoyment of mine to watch all the birds...from crows,bluejays,cardinals...woodpeckers...to squirrels...standing by those clumps of pines eating the seeds inside...seriously...come for a visit...beautiful sandy beaches at Sandy Pond,NY...right down the road...!!!😁
You probably don't have a Jewish community way out where you are, but a penguin with a blue scarf would make a cute tabletop decoration for those who celebrate Hanukkah. They would just need sturdier feet to be free-standing. These ornaments are the cutest!
My favorite time of day is cuddling on the couch with my 2 kitties, a cup of tea and being inspired by you and your smile-inducing videos. Those penguins really are stinkin cute 🐧
So cute. This Ontario gal has those pine cones in her back yard. You can fray the other end of the scarf easily. Just pull out the cross threads one by one until you get the desired length of fray.
If you are looking for another idea for your show, you can make gnomes with your pinecones. Just put a Santa type hat on them and a bead for the nose. They are really cute. Love when you made penguins before and enjoyed watching you have so much fun making some more.
Awww how cute! You should make more than 8 to take! You can always keep a stash of small finished items in your car to refresh your stock. Love it!!! 💕
Love this!! My 6yr old grandson just brought in a bunch of pinecones that he wants to use to make Christmas tree ornaments. We always do homemade ornaments so I'm so glad he's already getting into the spirit!
These are so cute…..at 73 I just bought my first hot glue gun; crazy right. So I will definitely be making these penguins. And I loved your filming the hunt for the pine cones…👍🏻👍🏻 to your husband.
Thank you so much for sharing your pinecone penguins! My 5 year old granddaughter and I made 6 of them last night, and finished them up today- we had so much fun! Wishing you and your boys a happy holiday season, and if I haven’t missed it; good luck at your craft show!!
Adorable, got me thinking that they could also be decor pieces if you covered stiff cardboard with the felt feet! My daughter loves to make a winter scene on her table, how cute they would look! Blessed and safe days!
I L O V E your penguin ornaments. I have plenty of pine trees in my back yard, so the pine cones are plentiful. Now that I know how I can make some myself. Thanks for the inspiration.
These are so cute I'm going to give them a stop sign and use them as gifts for the cross walk guards at my kids school. I collected so many of those exact pine cones this year and now I have another project to do with them.
They are darling and so easy. I make ornaments every year for family and friends so I saved it to my Christmas craft folder. I have all the supplies. Love it!
My~my! :) those are adorable! My 3 acres are surrounded by old, large pine trees...It's the squirrels that eat them ;) I have a couple of baskets of cones that I display here and there thruout the house. I may have to make these, thank you for the cutest of ideas!!
Too cute! Penguins are just such adorable creatures. I made a large standing penguin out of a gourd and used a wooden heart shape for feet. You could make these standing pine cone penguins the same way. Your new studio is awesome. Jealous of all the space!
I wish there was a LOVE button! Those are so stinkin cute! I'm totally making these today!!!
Haven't seen you on UA-cam in 2 weeks. Hope everyone is safe and healthy ❤️
You'd better take more than 8! Those are adorable!
Right?!
Penguins🐧 are tots-adorbs, I think pinecone owls🦉 would be so cute too!
Squirrels tear apart the pine ones to find and store the pine nuts… yummy eating in the winter for them… awesome job on the penguins !
You have inspired me to clean up my studio....which is a PIT!!!!!! I haven't gone into it for just this reason!!!!!!!!! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!
Same here! I get mine all organized, get inspired to make things, then it's a mess again. What to do?
