Backwater Fishing for Murray Cod

- Im joined by Squirly from the "Chumming Up' podcast again as we do some lure fishing for Murray cod in a little backwater lagoon. We cast spinner baits and hard body/crankbaits and have a successful middle of the day session.
lures used are spin wright spinnerbaits and Gidgee fatty juniors.

I usually run 50lb mate just when I’m chucking larger lures and get a birds nest I don’t snap them off and send them flying.
Hey mate just subscribed and am digging your content, l have a few edge rods myself and was wondering what model your using for the green slabs.
Cheers mate. I have a couple of the sc-bar 666-1 12lb to 20lb rods and find them as the perfect option for pretty much all my hardbody and medium to small spinnerbait style fishing. I also use the mbr 736-1 8lb to 16lb and a sc-bcr 705-1 10lb to 17lb, although they are both a lighter class rod than the 666 I find that they have plenty of backbone to cast decent lures and pull on stubborn fish. Plus I like the extra length for casting with the 7ft plus rods. Really helps cover extra water, especially when fishing with someone else and can cast further than them 😂. Hope that helps mate

What Baitcaster reel are u using making weird sound never herd it before
It’s the shimano exsence dc. I’m pretty shore all the shimano dc models make that noise as it’s the computer braking system in them. Hope that helps
