    Picking up the spikes again after 5 years. 2nd HS meat Sophomore year I ran a PR of 4:27 off of 20 miles a week for 3 months never having ran b4 (Granted I played soccer) at 5 feet 10 inches and 126 pounds. Injuries injuries injuries, oof. Now I’m 21 6 feet tall and 188 pounds decided to unretire after my HS personal finance teacher a retired runner told me I’d be doing a disservice if I didn’t try to train and see what I would be capable of. Journey starts now:)

    Only if you can make it to the top three in your event in your country and make top 5-6 in the Olympic final.

    Injuries absolutely can affect how a young person considers their options. My dad had a chance to get into the Redskins practice squad in the mid-1960s (before the first super bowl, before all that money was in the NFL) or accept one of the few union apprenticeships available in construction that year, and start a family. He chose that second and didn't look back or regret it. Injuries he had playing definitely guided his thought process though because he would have had to play against bigger, stronger players than he had up to that point, and he was not big (he was fast though, and played the position equivalent to corner today).

    When should you increase mileage in summer for xc

    • @leogoodman4368
      @leogoodman4368 3 роки тому +1

      You should be slowly increasing mileage through the whole summer. The mileage will then start to go down once you’re doing more workouts during xc

      lmao he's answering questions that were never even asked. all I feel is a huge ego being fed by these kids that are almost being programmed to just stare at the label he has defined himself as. a 2 time Olympian. lmao.

      @@energyflowswhereattentiongoes you people just love complaining, you’re in a UA-cam comment section criticizing him for talking to kids and trying to help. Both of you idiots should pick up a book or get a job. 2 morons who will never be happy in life, love complaining about nonsense!

      @@domp5882 lmfao. I'm older than you and can out work you on my worst day. It's called constructive criticism that's actually relevant and applicable but you idiots don't want the truth. You want to FEED his ego and now yours. Your mind is a destructive thing you're wasting. I love him and all the good he does. I just expected more from someone like him and am trying to make him a better person bit I guess you don't like that. Lol. Oh well. Too bad. Instead of desperately defending your role model you should be demanding more from these people you choose to look up too. You don't know how deep their knowledge of self is nore how wise or shallow they are. The truth is coming for everyone. Get ready time to learn about yourself and put in Real work.

      @@energyflowswhereattentiongoes calm down man its just really not that serious. Just off reading the two essays you dropped in here i'm guessing your that honest asshole that thinks their being constructive but in all reality just being nihilistic. Feeling and emotions are more important then you think, not everything is analytical or quantifiable. Allow the kid the freedom of being dumb and he just might turn out greater from where he started.

    Kid, it ain't that complicated! Just compare your numbers with the competitive athletes at your age and see if you are in the same league or at least within striking distance. If you are too far off, pick college.
