- In this vlog A DAY IN BATAAN PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭 we take you all with us on a perfect Manila day trip/roadtrip 🤗. And while we did pack a-lot in our one day there we still walked away knowing this province is one we HAVE to come back too and very soon!!! 😱 There’s just so much to see and do!
Bataan wasn’t exactly our destination spot, in fact we had our sights set on another province (which you will all see in our next vlog!!) but we’re so glad we took the pitstop and check out this charming province.
Located only 2 and 1/2 hours northwest of Manila, this quaint province on the Philippine island of Luzon is home too many tourist attractions. Such as shipwrecks, coral reefs, and the location to a massive marine turtle hatch at the Pawikan Conservation Center. However, due to our time constraints we didn’t really have the time to explore them all THIS TIME! However we did make our way to the Mount Samat Shrine of Valor which commemorates WWII’s Battle of Bataan and all those who fought, Dunsulan Park, and found ourselves having a blast eating at a local hotspot: JM Valley (who also happen to be some of the kindest people EVER 😍😍).

Thank you for showing Bataan to your viewers! Bataan is really underrated even though it's just west of Metro Manila and is just separated by Manila bay. It's not on tourist's list because it's only known for Nuclear Power Plant and WWII stuff.
But recently thanks to social media influencers like you, our province become a hot topic among vloggers, bikers, and other local tourists who want to see the hidden beauty of this Province.
It was our first time ever visiting the province and when we were trying to do research on UA-cam, there was hardly any. We love to explore the lesser visited places other vloggers wouldn’t go to because it’s places like Bataan where you really get to see what they country is about. We wish we had another day to explore but because we had to go to Alaminos city that same day, we had to cut it short. It had our jaws on the ground the entire time we were there. Luckily there’s more to explore like the coves by the waterfront. We plan to go back later this year and hopefully jump off the massive cliff 😆😆😆

The Mount Samat Shrine of Valor is the second tallest/largest free-standing cross in the world after the one in Spain. You can get an elevator to ride to the horizontal cross-pieces. There's a detailed museum of the 1942 Battle of Bataan. There's another museum in the Balanga, Bataan city center and the elementary school where the surrender of the US Army forces took place.
When you're in BGC, you can go to the American Memorial and Cemetery of the Pacific War. There's another museum there.
You should also try a boat trip to Corregidor Island to see the memorial there. Try visiting the Fort Stotsenberg sites inside Clark Air Base where the US Army and US Army Air Force was based.
Again, you guys teach us so much and we are VERY thankful 😱❤️. We had no idea Selwyn!! Thank you for this. You could just feel the importance of where you were when up there. We wished the elevator would have been operational at that time because we would have absolutely went up. Again, thank you buddy 🤗🤗

@@proudlynomadic dint forget to include also in your visit Tagaytay...this is just about 75 km South of Manila ..they have a cold weather there also..have a sip of coffe at Mcdonald branch overlooking taal lake...try havinge "beef Bulalo" , kare-kare, and pork sisig...also the fish maliputo and tawilis...see the active small volcano within a volcano within Taal lake...you can enjoy the rides at skyranch which is just beside Taal Vista Hotel. there is also a cruise at the back of MOA that takes to to Corregidor island, also part of Bataan, that is worth checking out. What I like about your videos, they're not part of the usual places that tourist go to. really quite different from the others. always ingat!

There is a viewpoint at the cross section.
There used to be an elevator going up. Very good viewpoint.
We truly wished it was open but they've had it closed for awhile the officer up there said 😩. The views from everywhere up there just look incredible and it would have made such a great viewing point!! Hopefully they open it back up in the near future for everyone else 🤗🤗❤️
Oh cooool you got to drive in the Philippines and driving thru Northern Luzon 👏 Roads in the North is just relaxing to see, the greenery it's almost like driving thru a vast green carpet. I hope you guys didn't get bummed out by the famous Edsa traffic as the traffic can be an intense experience for first time drivers here. LoL loved the carpool karaoke scene. Looking forward to your North adventures.
We truly love the freedom driving gives us when traveling the Philippines and any country we visit. We end up having the ability to just stop anytime we see something that catches our attention or even change of plans on the whim. The best part is IT IS BEAUTIFUL 😍😍😍😍. So you are never visually bored haha!! We've dealt with terrible terrible awful traffic before and delays and all the above so we just go with the flow. We can understand living here and not going to these places. When you work in a country sometimes it makes it harder because you don't have the time. Then to add on it's all islands and not one single piece of land...that's much harder haha. Since you are in Bataan, visit the village of the Aetas which were the first settlers of thr country. Then go through Olongapo city (Subic), where the former US Naval Base then. And Zambales has so much to offer.

Oh, you should gone to the Las Casa Filipinas de Acuzar..it was just a few kilometers away from Mt. Samat BUT it is pricey though. Nearer to Manila, in the east, is the MASUNGI NATURE RESERVE..Great adventure and walking thru jungle as well, but you have to reserve your spot thru their website.

It was just not in our budget (over $100 usd not including parking) so we had to leave BUT we plan on going back because we do want to see it sometime 🤗. We plan on being in the Philippines for awhile so we know we can make it happen. But great suggestions ELEA 😍❤️. THe Nagsasa Cove looks incredible!!

Anyway thank you for appreciating the beauty of our country and its people and showcasing it to the world. Just watched the latest one (Hundred Islands). Then 2 of your Bohol vids... I think putting the extra effort in editing the vlogs will pay off more in the long run coz quality content will not just attract the intended audience (travel aficionados) but other people as well.
I would also like to recommend the mountain resorts in Tanay in Rizal Province (only about 2-3 hours from Manila) and catch the 'sea of clouds'. But you have to go in the rainy season coz cloud formation is very sparse during summertime. Tanay is one of my favorite places. It's not as urbanized as Tagaytay, but has the same beautiful mountain views. And try to make a side trip also to Pililla Wind Farm with the windmills.

The huge cross actually has an elevator that brings you to the top of the cross and gives a great overlooking view of bataan and part of manila but i don't know if it's still operational

Haha, we don't mind the crazy traffic and everything that comes with it. While not ideal we feel it is greatly outweighed by the fact we are in control of where we stop and go and there is sooooo much to see traveling here in the Philippines that we stop alot to just fly the drone or film something 🤣🤣 But yeah, the driving is CRAY CRAY 🤣 - And yeah, a bit pricey but we really want to go so I think the next time we are in the area we will check it out because so many people want to see it and it does look beautiful.
