Awesome review man Vas have you a link to one of your tests with these
Tho I’ll look at your Kagama shows too🤭
Wow a 6000mah 6s pack for less than $50 shipped. This is epic! Gonna share this vid in a few groups 🤘🏻
That's awesome, thank you so much. 😊👍
I got 3 of the 4s 6000mAh and they work really well in my Muraco, and yeah the price is great.
i bought a set last night .lets hope they are good .we will see
Thanks for this review Vas, Hobbyking have just reopened their UK warehouse, and I've been wondering about the new (to us) stuff.
No problem, thanks for stopping by. Hopefully you can get them there soon. 🙂
Good timing, I'll be needing to replace my main packs this year.
Awesome. Pricing is really good, so shouldn't cost much to stock up on some new ones. 🙂
Yes much cheaper than I was expecting
Nice new packs, please test cell resistance for your fup review.
Will do!
Battery’s look great 👍. Unfortunately the OZ warehouse will not ship across the ditch 😢. A shame not a big market I know but other alternatives are so expensive. Great video Vas .
Thanks Alan. Yeah, that's a bummer, hopefully a solution is available in the future.
How many cycles have you run through your 6S packs and in what vehicles? $36 for a 6S/6000mah 100C pack is ridiculous, but only worth it if they hold up. I just bought a couple of 6S 120C 5200mah zee's for the first time to try out in my 6S trucks. Haven't run them yet though. I mostly run CNHL 65-75C and Liperior 65-75C packs.
Great Channel. any plans to review the new Arrma Kraton EXB V2?
Thank you. No plans to review that truck at this time, sorry.
Its very important to run a connector that'll handle the load your electronics are asking for. In my experience EC5 connectors are good for 4s and not much more efficiently.
Just my opinion
Interesting theory considering all of Horizon Hobby's 4S and 6S cars and planes come with EC5 or IC5 and I've never had or heard of anyone complain about them. Myself and several club members at my local flying club have also used EC5 connectors in EDF jets for years without any issues. Both EC5 and XT90 connectors can handle 6S and even 8S without any issues at all.
@@AussieRCPlayground _What he said is actually quite true! ALL 6S SHOULD be using XT90!_
Amps are the limit, not the voltage.
I wonder if that 6S pack will fit in my Vorza S buggy!?
No, it's too long. I can't even fit it in my Vorza truggy. 😕
Hey Vas, what's your opinion so far on these compared to Zeee Power or Ovonic ? I have several 3S, 4S and 6S of these two brands, been very happy with the Zeee packs, with Ovonic, some are very good, others only average.
Agree not a fan of Ovonic at all.. I bought two YOWOO Graphene 4S 6000mAh for 134 off ebay AU and they're awesome. Kaos RC runs them and says the same. CNHL seem Ok as well.
The first batch of Ovonic batteries I got a few years back (when they started sponsoring the channel with batteries) weren't very good, and I let them know about it, too. Then they may have changed cell manufacturers or suppliers and I got some new 6S 5000mah 50C and they rock! Their 2200 120C I use for my planes have also done well, but their internal resistance has shot right up, but that's after dozens of cycles.
The Zeee packs are bit meh... I got a couple of their 5200 100C and although they did well for the first half a dozen cycles or so, they no longer perform as well as they once did - they get hot and don't run for as long as they should anymore. Plus, they're not as punchy as they once were. Zeee packs can be cheap, but from my experience, they don't last.
CHNL batteries have been solid for me. I have some 4S 2200 and 5000 70C, some 4S 8000 120C hard case and some 2S 5200 100C. They all perform very well, however, the 4S 5000 70C (soft case) are bit thicker and heavier than their adversaries. The good news is you can get CNHL fairly cheap when on sale from their website, but I've had great luck finding very cheap batteries on AliExpress.
These Rapid packs perform very similarly to the CNHL ones, but they're quite a bit cheaper as well. No hard case packs available yet, but it'll be interesting to see if or when they expand the rage down the line and what sizes and variants they'll add.
last week I had a zee 8000mha battery blow up in my kraton 8s.saved the car.But it was up in flames .
@@AussieRCPlayground The Ovonic 5000, 6000 & 6500 4S packs are fantastic. The 5800 3S are also great. The 6000 3S rebel packs are rubbish. Haven't had any issues with my Zeee packs so far. I wouldn't call Zeee "cheap", they're actually more expensive than Ovonic on their ebay Oz store.
I've managed to get those 5200 Zeee packs here in Australia a lot cheaper than the equivalent Ovonic, but that was about 2 years ago now, so maybe things have changed.
Not bad price wish they had 8000 mah ones. My outcast 8s run those packs fast. But for the price cant beat it
I'm sure if these sell well and continue to perform as well as they have for me, it's likely we'll see the range expand. My Kraton 8S would also like some bigger packs, but my buggies will need smaller, so let's see what happens... And yeah, the price is red- hot. I honestly was not expecting them to be so cheap. LoL.
I used to really like 5s. It was the best balance between weight and capacity and power. They aren't really popular any more
Yes, I've heard that from a few other people as well, that 5S is a great in-betweener for bashing, but since they're not very common, they're hard to find. And the ones that do exist are either not the right size, brand, capacity or C rating. And then there's price to consider as well... It's a shame, really, and a mystery why 5S has never been as popular as 4 or 6S.
@@AussieRCPlayground I had 2 turnigy heavy duty 4000mah 5s with a hobby wing quic run system and it was perfect. 6s is always a bit too much never get full throttle and 4s you are pinned all the time and can't get enough rotation.
can they be used in planes?
I haven't tried them, but I don't see why not. I might actually give them a go in a couple of my jets and see how they go.
100c? Can you test if it can output 500 amp?
Exactly 😂😂😂, these companies are getting outrageous with C ratings
Well, I don't have the equipment to test them, so I can only tell you how they've performed in my cars. So far, no puffing, no swelling and no issues with cells balancing. They have heaps of punch and the mAh on the label matches the runtime (to the best of my estimates). 🤷 Take that how you will, but that's been my experience with these packs, which is more than I can say about some others.
@@AussieRCPlayground I understand bro I'm not bashing you or nothing ,I'm just saying most of these batteries been test it already and the manufacturers been lying on C ratings,
@@stevet8607 who's tested these batteries? Do you have a video link? And which brands do you believe to be truthful then?
Happy to challenge you on this, because I've ran 100's of batteries from dozens of brands over the last 11 years across a plethora of RCs (both land and air) and I can tell you who's right and who's wrong based on real world use, including these Rapid batteries. I can assure you this video would not exist if I felt the batteries I blind tested were no good. In fact, I was instructed not to if that were the case. I know of at least 2 recent brands I've used where the numbers don't match the performance, but I'm curious to see what info you have. 😏
That’s an awesome idea of hobby king sending it to your so you have no idea of what brand or anything and your honest opinion of what the battery is. More brands should do that. Not saying you’re not honest normally but just saying it’s a good idea. Those packs look really good only 50 dollars cad for a 6s 6000mah as long as I can get them to me. But won’t be buying new ones and time soon just thinking about the future.
It was a really interesting experiment to be a part of, I've never done anything like it. Glad it worked out ok though, it would be a bit awkward if the batteries had failed, underperformed or were unreliable in some way. Thankfully they performed really well and the runtime matched the mAh on the packs, so when I saw the retail versions had 100C on them it all made sense. 🙂
Definitely they look like good bats
not available in the uk atm
That's unfortunate... Hopefully you'll get them soon. 🤞
@@AussieRCPlayground Thanks brutha. 😊
They are now!@@1521joe
Why do they make all of their batteries so long?!
😂100c rating 🤣, there's no battery nowhere near that , more like 25-30 rating 🤣
If the C rating was that low, they wouldn't have performed as well as they did in my cars. Especially the Big Rock CC 6S with the Rocket motor, that truck was flying!! A 25C pack would've puffed and probably caught fire in the first 5min of running. LoL.
@@AussieRCPlayground you're trying to say and you believe the c rating is 💯, there's no battery on the market that comes half of that that any manufacturer claims 🤦 it's all a scam, get a meter and test all the batteries in CFA come close to what they say
@@AussieRCPlayground More the point that if they put the real C rating on there no one would buy them. Reality of the market. But you get 4 of these for the price of a so-called 100C pack from spektrum, so you're already well and truly ahead.
_I do agree with this.. there is no way they are a true 100C, rather probably 50 maybe 60 at most as there is absolutely no regulation on this!.. Still for this price, if they are performing well.. this is a steal!_
There are quadcopter packs that are labeled as 150c.
too bad hobbyking is shit now and has a 3 month waiting list to ship orders
