There hasn't been anything in this price area that has sold...but there's also only one 50 acre waterfront estate............THAT statement sells the house in my mind
Okay I'll buy it, my Mother grew up north in MA, but alway traveled to Conn., and back then had a lot of money, I think now after going through cancer God is going to bless me, and watch I will buy a home up north again and a fantastic one, Michele from TX.
Not worth a penny more than $80,000,000. The original price of 190 million was arrogant and vicious created by a WASPY snob. The weather is cold for more than 8 months a year, the sound is filthy and polluted, the house is made of wood, one match and it's gone. The price should reflect the land position and lot size. And by the way it's not the only large estate on the sound close to nyc see New Rochelle, north shore long island etc.
I don't buy it when he says there is a completely different crowd between 190M and 140M, if you can afford a 140M house you can also afford a 190M one.
That’s just wrong. That’s a 50 million dollar difference, that would be like me saying if you can afford a $50 pair of shoes you can afford a $100 pair of shoes, that’s not how math works chief
This is a very attractive real estate. However, American luxury real estate market is a bubble economy. Traders are stocking by 10 millions and are selling it by 100 millions. A buyer should lose money certainly.
Ah yes, the house across from Goose Island. Great property it was back on the market briefly in the first Q of 2016 for 195 Million and removed or went into silent sales....
Beautiful Places! Opposite of my client 1000 Museum Luxury Condos. I love the outdoors and the lush rural areas. So much nature, I wonder what kind of wild life is around also. You don't get to see to many deer out hear in Miami.
The home is beautiful, your probably one of those L.A asshats who see no value in old homes. Got news for ya, classy people don't buy homes less than 860 years old!
Its old, in the middle of no where, who tf care about the sea back yard... is not even a beach so you cant like have waves or have the feeling of beachy house. and ugly.

i still think homes in Connecticut are the most lavish.
sometimes i forget i live in the same town and that places like this actually exist
Drop it to 100,000,000 and we'll talk.
:D (for me, 90' is the limit)
can you imagine buying this?and waking up not knowing where the hell you are, getting lost in it??
TheCharliebeats 😂🤣😂
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL !!!
That's a crazy expensive price tag! 140 Million, wow! It is a very nice house and property though!
For the most expensive home in America we don't see much of the interior as the focus is on the grounds, views and landscaping.
Sold for $120 million back in April 2014.
The commission on that 😳😳
U are buying the land!!
That's pleasing to have in a lifetime.

Very nice estate wouldn't like the walk for the paper though! I think it'll go for $90-110 mil

that's not how numbers work...

it beautiful! the estate size alone is like a little town. if only the xchange rates where better hehehe (SAR)
And freeze your ass off in the winter with all that water. For that amount, I'd take Southern California all day!
$15,000,000 property with a $125,000,000 view, that is what he is saying.
It's all about the land. You can build 10 houses on the lot and still be spacious.
If I was Jeff Bezos I still wouldn't pay anywhere close to 140 for this property. Gorgeous, but criminally overvalued.
Its not all about the property, look around. your location, the view, the value of houses around you. It's worth it.
Value is subjective so yes and no. Although the only opinions which ultimately matter are those of the people willing to pay for it.
dat let me cry
how beatyfull is dat?
Love it

The guys who can afford 140 million house instead of a190M house must be pretty poor.
I'm sorry, but this house looks like a haunted house in a horror film
Rich Guy: "HEY MY POOL HAS 16 SIDES!"
Me: "Why didnt u just make it a circle. . .?"
Rich Guy: "Ughh. . . .?"
Fix your tie sir!
i would say compliment
An embarrassment. Even after all that has happened in the past 9 years.
It sold for $120 million
I dnt see anything worth more than 10 mill here...even that's overpriced.
,
80 tops
You pay 140m in this house to get a hole on the floor 1.47
it sold for 120 million.
Location, Location, Location......
Muy bueno...es lo que preciso para vivir..
I'll take it
The location is what people usually pay for with multi-million dollar homes. Moreover, trashy home? LoL... Not the nicest home, but far from trashy.
A bit pricey...
Ah yes, the house across from Goose Island. Great property it was back on the market briefly in the first Q of 2016 for 195 Million and removed or went into silent sales....
@James Franko Cant find anything to confirm that.
@James Franko Right...
come on............
not worth it
Not a good investment.
Good luck with that

1:04 - businesses man : we don’t have to worry about storms or anything like that .
Hurricane Katrina: hold my beer 🍻.
😂🤣
so old
You'd get a much nicer yacht for this kind of money!
Julian Felix I think if you’re gonna drop that much on a house you can get the yacht too haha
Its location and the pool are the best things in the house !! other than that, the home is trashy as hell !!!!!
The home is beautiful, your probably one of those L.A asshats who see no value in old homes. Got news for ya, classy people don't buy homes less than 860 years old!
Yeah and some Arab/Russian billionaire will think they got a good deal.
Its old, in the middle of no where, who tf care about the sea back yard... is not even a beach so you cant like have waves or have the feeling of beachy house. and ugly.
Old houses are better in everyway than new ones, that adds to the price! Also, its one of the richest areas in the U.S.
Yawns
I´m not interested, thanks.
