Yeah the uniqueness of Velvet Taco is very good. They always come up with some fun concoctions. Having come from Mexico not too long ago I still love the original style and places like Granny's and Las Trancas are as close as you'll get.

It's amazing how you captured the vibrant atmosphere of these places, and it made me feel like I was right there with you. Can't wait to see what other hidden gems you discover in Austin. I'd say at least 3 solid days if you sort of want to explore the interior and the immediate surrounding areas. If you want to branch out to the hill country or all the hiking areas south of the river and get into the food scene up in Williamson county then you're looking at a week.
It looks like you are back in the good old US of A! And of course there should be no time wasted to try some incredible eats! Tacos got to be one fo the all time greats! To be honest I have never had a soft taco before! I do love the variety that you get from them! From store to store and from dish to dish, there's so many options available! How could you ever get sick of Mexican food?!
I don't think I've had a breakfast Taco so I'd definitely want to try that one. But I really like how many varieties and places for tacos there are! I need to visit Austin apparently... the taco culture seems awesome.
