Seeking redemption from the last time I rode Ben Narnain without seeing any views, I decided to give it a go again. I invited Piers out to join me on this occasion and he provided the entertainment😜

That was fun to watch. Loved the stone trailways.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Friggen love your videos. Route looks amazing and i love the atmospheric weather 👍
Thanks buddy 😊 Love the atmosphere to when I’m there, but would prefer views for you guys watching the video.
@@McTrailRider lol this is Scotland, lucky it wasn’t a complete whiteout 😉. Don’t worry the good weather will come and it’ll be glorious ☀️👍
Nice to see that the Hopes are back on, faith restored 👍
I’m having such a dilemma with brakes at the moment. I love everything about the Hope’s, except the noise, which can ruin a video.
The Shimano’s can get outrageously loud when cold but then are super quiet after.
Another great video. Always amazing riding and trails. Thanks
Thanks buddy
I did a little hike-a-bike in the snow this winter, but man, you are crazy.
I’ll take that as a compliment 😜
Mostly I am envious of people who don't freeze to death in those conditions. My maximum is two hours, no matter how many layers.
Spent a week in Arrochar many moons ago. Great fishing on loch long. But man, the midges! Death by a thousand bites. Enjoying the videos.
Midges are class 😜😂😂
Awesome video as always, still having fun despite the weather!
Can’t let the weather get in the way 😜
Absolute brutal trail down the mountain, cracking video 👍
Just the way I like it 👍
Another great video
Thanks guys
It reflects well on you the fact that you pressed on regardless of the disappointing conditions. I’d have headed for the nearest pub....... ah, that is why is it?
Well done, it is obvious that you know the area well enough to carry on safely.
If I can safely see it through, that’s what I’ll do, especially if it involves a Munro. These are my nearest mountains, so I know better than any other at this moment in time.
I don't know, I sort of like the pea soup views of the low lying clouds up there near ridgeline. Reminds me of good old Led Zeppelin, Misty Mountain Hop. Especially with the big chunk cobble you had to ride down. Thanks for another sample of moody-weather Scotland mountain trails.
I totally get the appeal of the atmosphere on rides like this, but I’m super keen to see the view as well. Really want to have a look over to Beinn Vane and Vorlich.
@@McTrailRider I get it. I didn't mean to suggest you don't deserve the view you wanted! I'd like to see it too. Such a great landscape surrounds you. Some day I'll visit Scotland, hopefully before I'm too old to tackle alpine rides.
Thanks Andrew..be safe bud!
Thanks dude
Great videos, hopefully I’ll get up to Scotland soon. Looks good riding up there
We’ve got some decent trails up here for ya 👍
That looks awesome! So jealous, keep up the great content !
Pretty good for a bad day 👍
nice one Andrew, tough going getting to the top and the start of the trail- shame about the views but at least you got out on the bike - looked like it all came together though for the section through the woods right at the end though! top ride and content - cheers
Yeah, I’d just happy to be able to get out full stop, but u do look forward to better conditions in the near future👍
i feel like when you follow someone we never get to see your true bike skill and speed
That’s probably fair, I definitely go my best when I’m by myself or out in front.
Hello man!! First of all really good job with your videos I love them!! I have got one question: how do you mount your GoPro for your videos? How do you get such a nice angle and stability?
Thanks Giacomo, in this video I’m using two different mounting positions. The first one is my main position and that is on the chin bar of my full face helmet. The second is chest mounted using the Max lens mod from GoPro.
@@McTrailRider thank you !! Hope to meet you on the trails one day since I live in Scotland as well ! 😂
Its a good ride down that path. We did at least get some sunshine at the top. Were the big rocks that we had to clamber over still there?
The path is actually better now that it’s finished and settled in compared to when we rode it. The rock sections were the ones covered in snow I think.
Oryt andy, message for pierce first, try to change ye bar setup they look low for you as if there pulling you forward on decents maybe hight or sweep, looks like your really stiff in ye shoulders will make you feel as if your going to go over bars, grate vid as usual andy one day you will get the clear view 🤔keep them coming
Piers does run his bars quite low, it was actually me that suggested to lower them as he is used too much shorter bikes and was struggling to weight the front end of the Privateer.
Lowering the bars got his weight forward and he stopped washing the front out after that. He may raise them somewhere down the line though.
@@McTrailRider ah makes sense getting weight over front for more traction ,it just looks like he's really tight in his shoulders even though his arms are bent just looks like he's stretched out alot strange
@@GrahamStorr it may very well be going against him on rides like this to be fair as it’s very steep. May need to find a compromise to try and cover all aspects of riding.
Braw views mate 👍😂 I was expecting a 'how low can ya go' with his dance. Interested to know if the stain off carbon was a dung sound rather than the ding you get off a standard frame couldn't quite here clearly
Bit of limbo 😜 Rock on carbon noise is quite a dull and muted sound.
Bum deal on the view but a great ride none the less. After all the brake swapping testing, curious on any pad recommendations for Hope. I’ve destroyed pads very quickly in mine but had great feel!
Surprised to great about the accelerated pad wear, I’ve found the standard pads to last very long indeed.
The green pro pads by Galfer are the ones I settled on as they have a noticeable improvement in bite and power....... but don’t last as long 😬
We've currently got about the same humidity, but with 32C temperatures...
Oooft!🥵
Yeh sick man, would you be able to cover what bike you’re riding and the. Suspension set up on some of the videos?
I’m really overdue to do a long term review on my bike to be fair, but here’s my bike check video for just now.

@@McTrailRider hi mate thanks for that, was thinking more about how you adjust your damping and rebound for each big ride you do depending on the location
@@misterdroneboy8999 I’m pretty much s set and forget kinda guy. I don’t do any changes to different terrain other than tyres pressures maybe.
@@McTrailRider thanks mate I’m pretty much the same, just considering if I’m missing out on something
Great again.
See when you got hacked did we have to re subscribe?
I subscribed 4 years ago at least and when I went to like today's video it showed that I hadn't subscribed.
I have again but it's just incase for everyone else!
I think it varied for everyone to be honest, I did lose an awful lot of subscribers during the hacking but I figured it was due to the odd behaviour on the channel that caused people to leave.
@@McTrailRider not on my part.
I just noticed today but it might be worth a mention.
You still pop up on my feed all of the time because of what I watch so others might be the same.
Love your bike what is it and how much 👍🏻😉🚵♂️🚵♂️🚵♂️
It’s a Deviate Highlander, a Scottish high pivot trail bike, and I absolutely love it ☺️

@@McTrailRider brilliant thanks but I’m after ebike loving your ride’s I’ve a 2005 kona coiler but age and kneees needs help lol
It's a bit of a push with the lockdown council area but what about Ben Lui ?
The mountain itself is within Argyll, but the best way up it starts in Stirlingshire 😬
Whats the wee bottles you're using? Look neat and compact.
This right here

Love these things
👍👍👍
was looking at getting a pair of hundred percent gloves, how do the hydromatic waterproof deal with the cold?
I really like them. They aren’t as warm as some of the options, but the warm versus usability and flexibility is excellent 👍
I've ridden up Snowdon 9 times, never seen the view, it's always been foggy.....
I'll be f*+ked if I'm doing it again....😂
get the train mate
Nightmare mate 😤 Some mountains just do that to us.
@@tomhare5110 with the greatest respect, I'm a mountain biker, so that comment makes me angry..... 😂
I'm not from Scotland and I have no idea how to pronounce name of that mountain even after 10x hearing it :D
I was born and raised here, but I still very much struggle to pronounce some of the Gealic mountain names.
Shame about the view. But the descent looked like super fun.
Very enjoyable descent 👌
