One of my biggest takeaways from this is how good a rider people like Remy Metailler is with him just sending these. Everyone has these events just to do them
This is terrifying. Great riding Lewis. I can't imagine progressing to a point this seems doable. Features always seem easier on camera, and these still look insane. Fair play to you sir.
That was absolutely insane Lewis, Watched it last year and you rode some insane lines then but these were next level..Well done balls of absolute steel
There is something unbelievably sick about the spirit of the Canadian mtb scene. I’ve never heard applause like that after everybody hit those features, you can tell how stoked and happy for you they all were! And Great riding as always 😉
British Columbia has the Sickest Terrain in the World. The Scenery gives you a zest for life. West Coasters are very happy go lucky positive people. It's their close relationship with nature and an active lifestyle that attributes to their upbeat attitudes. I was born and raised in Toronto and I was very lost and depressed. I went out to B.C. for a few months. Best thing I ever did. Incredible experience.
Mate, that's freaking insane!! Really I've no words... speechless.. stunted. I'm no expert by any means, but your composure and skill is unbelievable bro, really is. Totally loving the vibe, the cheering and the respect you guys show for one another. Those brakes of yours...boy oh boy... freaking unbelievable how well they work. Trust you're healing up well and can only wish you the best. I also appreciate you're taking the time to do the videos and share them with us, it's probably the last thing you want to be thinking about after a day of riding and sending like that. Loving the behind the scenes.
Hard to get the normal person to watch up their that’s why this is epic mtb only those in the 95th percentile of riding even go up there, most can barely ride a dirt trail. Let alone a 6ft rock slab, and most normal people can’t even walk up there to watch that’s why rampage is in a flatish easy accessible area where you can drive there.
@@HeidiFeglesrampage wasn’t made to just be watched it was made to push riding to the extreme and it just so happened that the utah desert is good for this and flat
The progression is unreal, from watching you like 5 years ago and racing against you back in the Welsh Gravity Enduro Series days, to these massive sends, huge huge respect man 👊👊
Wonderful vid. So many riding at this standard: as a crew! Reminds me of the vibe we see on RBH vids. And, it’s amazing how early you guys see an error. Easy enough to see mid-gee-out, but you guys are seeing it at the drop-in. Stunning 😮 Seeing the ladies and the young guns is awe inspiring (and a big shout-out to the parents supporting those young ones: now 67 and still shedding myself with my adult kids, I can tell you it never gets easy 🎉). PS: Best summary at the end you’ve ever done btw 🎉🎉🎉
Totally agree with you Lew, I feel like you’ve progressed a shit ton in this type of riding. I remember coming across your channel years ago when you were first on Forbidden I believe, and enjoyed watching you shred wet/root filled traditional English terrain, totally different than what I ride. I was mesmerized by how fast you would charge super wet gnarly trails. Great to see you’ve been able to spend time in the valley and hone your abilities on terrain that isn’t your “home field”. You’re throwing down the big boy lines on stuff that’s pretty new to you, from what I’ve gathered at least. Respect bro. Good luck out there.
You madlad!! Going first on a couple of these crazy features!! WOW!! Mad respect!! Hope your ankle heals quickly and take care of the rest of your body! I'd rather watch some more videos from you than you getting injured and sidelined doing some crazy stunts! Your whistler content is 🔥🔥💪
Cool to see this video up so soon after Tour de Gnar, thanks for the effort editing it quick! Also sick riding, you hit stuff with confidence and it looked like you were opening up features? Sick. Fresh Paints killed it on that bike and helmet too by the way.
You guys are all legends for even attempting in not absolutely perfect conditions. Mark didn't hit that last year so I'm sure he wanted to check it off, but shows that anything can happen. Very entertaining thank you for sharing your perspective this is the craziest annual ride in MTBing that's not called rampage 😂
8:03 made me smile, amazing recovery. I couldn’t imagine doing these things, the guy at the end calming u down saying how good u did, that’s why we ride, the friendships we grow from people we would have never been friends with outside of riding… your a amazing rider, one day it be cool to be half as good as u
I ride MTB since 7 years so I would say that I'm not a bad rider but watching you just sending that stuff is just scary as hell for me especially considering that the GoPro is quite surely not doing these trails any justice. Mad respect bro! Love the content!
Blown away. You really seem to be getting on well with the DH bike. Your riding has progressed a lot in the last year - and perhaps no more so than since you got this bike going. Well done.
This is just incredible to watch. The skill you exhibit, plus the ability to mentally visualize your line, then to execute with such confidence, very impressive. And with such great equipment, great parks, domestic and abroad, and even greater talent, this sport can only go up...kudos. Thank you.
Damn dude... You riding just keeps getting better and better, imagine if you would be a BC native :D:D:D:D Video was top notch too Hope the foot is doing better, keep at it!
The real question is would you trust another frame from Evil on these features? I've broken a bike before and have trouble trusting it's replacement chainstays on features a fraction of this size.
Theres alot of stuff on the web to watch these days, alot of it being 'just another video'....but this...THIS WAS INSANE...jaw dropping to watch. Hat off, fair fucking play!!
Great format for a video. Absolutely loved it and was terrified for most of it. There are times when the video conveys the insanity of what you lot are riding. Of course even then it must be worse when there in person. Well done indeed.
I started mountain biking in Sligo on the west coast of Ireland in 1989, the skill level from then to now is insane. What hasn't changed is the fact it's the best sport full stop.
hey Lewis just wanted to say two things 1. love your bike i saw pics of it on insta and fell in love with it 2. i think that you are really smart with your sponsor choices, mainly because i don't think that having people bringing children into the energy drink market an young age is a good idea, and i dont think that only fans was actually designed for what its mainly known for. i think that its really inspiring that your trying to change it (correct me if i'm wrong tho). keep up the awsome content btw😃
8:26 what I can't understand here is that someone watching gasps while the guy is still about halfway through his drop on the third clip. What looks different about the first two clips where the rider lands well vs the third clip where it's a rough landing? How did the observer know it was gonna be rough before it happened?
One of my biggest takeaways from this is how good a rider people like Remy Metailler is with him just sending these. Everyone has these events just to do them
Yup it’s crazy
Remy's a beast, but no, he doesn't "just send" these features. These are outliers, and Remy examines each one carefully.
He's an alien. Sometimes I prefer to watch regular humans instead, it makes it more relatable lol.
@@LewisBuchananyour riding was awsome also, New Subscriber 👍👍
