Hi Joric, those who are US Citizens but have Portuguese residency, does Italy have attractive tax schemes for these digital nomad visa applicants?
I guess it wouldn’t be possible to split time between Portugal and Italy and have both visas because they each require full time stay. So it’s either one or the other.
@@Emmy-ey6lv Correct, no special scheme, and, you would have to keep lets say your D7 here, or, choose digital nomad there. You can't be on two different visas.
This can be a very good affordable option for digital nomads.

Have you talked about the family return to Italy path to citizenship?
Not sure of its name but similar to Germany where if one's parents or grandparents were Italian, you may qualify for citizenship.
Portugal has that as well I believe.

Thank You. I've spoken to close to a dozen people who have tried to get citizenship due to heritage, and every one of them, after more than two years of trying to go through the bureaucracy, decided it was not worth it. Italy makes it incredibly difficult for people with Italian heritage to get citizenship, even though they are qualified.
