I never understood why people say this. No. If everyone is beautiful, no one is beautiful. Face it, some people are physically attractive while some aren't. The point isn't that everyone is beautiful, the point is that you shouldn't let your physical appearance get to you. She's ugly in the face of society and that's a fact. However she shouldn't judge herself too hard for how she looks because appearance is one thing that we can't change
@@zeccy337 You're right that some people are just just better looking than others but she actually didn't look that unappealing. What made her look creepy (?) is the weird smile she gave the guy.
I am sorry, but this is maybe even more harmful than when people fat shame people... being this obese is NOT ok, not healthy, not good for a person's mental health, not attractive. Telling people it's ok and beautiful to be this fat results in some more seriously bad consequences. Let's be honest, but respectfullly and in a healthy way. It happens that a person slips into obesity especially in today's society where few exercise or even move a muscle. But people need to exercise to be healthy. You want to eat a lot of food? Fine, but spend some hours exercising to balance that.
@Jovan Tan I personally think everyone is beautiful on the outside. Sure, I might not be attracted to them since I have a type, but I have never really thought of anyone as ugly or less beautiful. I've seen people comment on other people and how they are ugly in terms of appearance, but I personally see the ugliness on the inside better than on the outside. I hope I'm not the only one who feels this way...
@@xxes11xx yeah but not all people can control it. Just like sometimes skinny people are too skinny not because they diet for society norms but it's out of their hands. Sometimes it isn't that easy. That’s not cool how she had to be back stage singing while this “pretty girl” takes credit of it! Like can’t she even sing! Stop trying, Hannah’s the good one here! (Edit: TYSM FOR THE LIKE!)
I remember watching this movie around the time it came out. I cried so hard during it as I could relate to her when she was fat. This movie actually helped my self esteem back then and gave me hope that someone will love me someday despite my size.
everybody is talking about how "cute and beautiful" she was before surgery, but if you see this realistically, people, even you guys, would always tend to someone who is beautiful according to the beauty standards. i get that you guys wrote so much in support for Hannah but see from the pov of the boy, guys its HARD.
I wouldn’t call her ugly tbh but like it’s obvious she doesn’t fit into the societal standards of beauty? And most people would tend to like people who do fit in.
as long as she wasn’t forced i don’t see an issue, as long as she’s happy afterwards. i think that to go to the lengths she did she must’ve wanted to be prettier and feel like herself more.
Well, society's standards, especially those big names in the entertainment industry in Korea. Sure, there are some plus-sized entertainers nowadays, but they got their fame because of the people's love, not because of the producers' pick. Most entertainers in Korea had to change the way they look.
That's a miracle surgeon! She has no hematomes, abscesses, no swelling, no pain, no scars, no muscle atrophy, her hair is perfect...oh the beauty of cinematography! People who go extensive surgery like she did suffer so much after the operation(s), a nightmare worth a documentary of hundreds of hours. Enteral or parenteral nutrition, frequent dressings and bandages replacements, lots of drugs, and the list goes. I'm not partial to make plastic surgery seem so "easy" and simple.
I love how _this_ is your issue, and not the insane editing where she's implied to have been wearing bandages over her eyes for months, while losing 100 pounds on a treadmill. Plus the editing mistakes where she's somehow not wearing them while excising, despite clearly getting them off for the first time, right after. And then they "redo the nose" and wrap up her entire head again.

This clip is really misleading... I actually saw the full movie before coming across this clip and lemme tell you, I recommend the movie, I cried. If you don't mind spoilers: It's a story of Kang Hanna, she is not conventionally attractive and on top of that she's fat. She has a kind and cute personality, and a great voice. However, because of her looks and weight, everyone is put off by her. She eventually hits a breaking point where she undergoes all this surgery and exercise to "become beautiful" but loses other beautiful parts of herself in the process (her kindness for example). She goes on to realize her mistakes and realizes what made her beautiful in the first place, and regrets undergoing surgery. The overall message in the end is that you don't need to be "conventionally" beautiful to love yourselff and have others love you. In fact, you should just love yourself. Also, the guy she likes, ends up liking her for her innocence and her personality instead of her looks. But, she doesn't like him anymore. Please watch this movie, it is actually really nice and uplifting. Also has a lot of funny moments!
hey everyone there's NO sense in writing things here like "she was so cute and beautiful before all that , its the personality that matters more and everyone is unique and gorgeous bla bla" becoz this is a drama scene go and apply things u say in reality, it's soo easy to say things than actually doing it!!
No honestly, she was adorable! But I’m just gonna say it. Don’t say I’m fat shaming, because I’m not. A lot of fat people aren’t healthy!thats why I would always incorage them to loose weight
Most of those comments are talking about plastic surgery, and not doing plastic surgery is incredibly easy if you actually try to work on your self esteem instead. I literally have a deformity, if I can be happy with myself, a girl who doesn't has a nice nose or something; should be capable of embracing her natural self too.
This reminds me of that incident in China - where they had the "cuter" little girl stand on stage to sing the national anthem, but there was another little girl who was doing the real singing behind the stage? Anyone remember????
MintSodaPop I remember. It happened a lot during the 80’s-early 2000’s in Dance music. Most of the female vocals were sung by heavier women but a skinny woman would lip sync to the song.
Yehetti in my Spaghetti in korea, a woman who is 5'5 is considered fat of she is heavier than 110lbs. it's crazy. so 200 lbs to them is more like 300 to us, not literally tho.
@@chromberries7329 Definitely not literally lmao- they do have a skewed view on health. I'm 5'5" and I'd be healthiest at 120-130lbs, 118lbs would be my personal aesthetic ideal but I'd be a bit underweight to reach that so I try not to worry about it.
I think he's always liked her though? At the start he's definitely quite kind and at the end he definitely says that he liked Hanna even while she was overweight and conventionally unattractive (and the way he looks at the stuff she left in his car and how he smiles when she's dancing and embarrassed when he saw). I doubt he meant what he said to Ammy since it's pretty clear throughout that he disapproves of Ammy and doesn't like her (esp. the attitude). He probably just wants to pacify her and avoid her using her dad to mess around with his job (Ammy's dad is his boss lmao). I don't think he's the perfect guy or whatever but certainly he's not as horrid as some people make him out to be.
I always think he likes her as a friend. But he's also a businessman. He knows her looks won't sell. The bathroom talk was pure business to keep the other girl on board.
She could have make her slim with some exercise and by having proper diet.....and she could have become pretty by using some natural and unchemical creams ......but she directly did surgery...that is not good...surgery is not the only way to become pretty
HAGE MARY and even so, people should lose weight to be healthy, not for beauty. nobody should put their worth on physical attractiveness alone. it’s nice to be pretty but not everyone is conventionally attractive, and that’s a reality people need to accept.
Honestly watching this made me realize how much people’s appearances change how I see them. I liked her before surgery, but there was never a time where I didn’t notice her appearance.
I don't know if it the case in kpop, but there was a band like this back in the early 2000s called "Milli Vanilli".The two singers were actually dancers, but they made the audience believe that they were really singing on the songs when it was actually two other real singers who were paid and had to keep it secret.
@@akai8401 I used to listen to their songs when I was a kid because of my dad. Then he told me about the lip syncing and I was like dang. Still feel bad for the real singers
@@MidoriGa95 Yes! And also, the thing that I always found weird, is that none of them could speak English fluently and without an accent. How did people not realize that they were not the true singers?
why do people use the phrase '____ could care less' it should be '____ could care more' because if you could care less, that means you have atleast a little bit of care, because you could care less. if you said '_____ could care more' it would make more sense because you don't need to care to be able to care more
@@mipierainbows_dead youre right but the word was could care less and not couldn't care less. See it again. It would be wrong if the word used was 'couldn't care less'.
I’m sorry but the world is possessed with beauty standards... can’t we for once just stop this war of “beauty” ... no one can define “beauty” it’s relative
I totally agree with you and I'm genuinely just saying this to be helpful, I think the word "obsessed" is the word that fits better with your sentence. "Possessed" would be meaning like "Hanna possessed that brush" it's a word of ownership. It could work if a person were trying to be like poetic by saying that but I believe the correct word here is obsessed. Totally agree with your points!
Yeah, to an extent. It used to definitely be that way, but now with western beauty standards being broadcast and globalized across the world, variation in beauty has become much smaller than what it used to be. But that is only the case with conventional beauty, of course.
I mean its ok to have standards. But not to an extreme. Like its ok if you like a man with muscles or a woman with rosey cheeks. But making a ken doll or barbie out of someone is rediculous. And thats how it is in korea. Yuk
Beauty is relative sure, but standards exist because people give money to the corporations that you’ve allowed to define them. So if you want change, start it within yourself, and then get others. Have woman stop buying make up to hide their flaws, have it to where men stop being shamed for losing hair. Weight is something we should all be judged for because it’s unnatural. It’s not healthy. If you have medical issues it’s different but promoting obesity is fucked up and wrong.
@@ReptarTheUgly I doubt that will work. While many people are into looking good for themselves, the goal of makeup and cosmetic surgery has always been to be attractive to other people. The cultural foundation of cosmetics can't really just be deconstructed. Beauty has always been desired, no matter what it has looked like. Make-up or cosmetic surgery are steps that people are willing to take to achieve it. The hustle for attractiveness is not the issue here. The issues come when people become insecure of their natural bodies. EDIT: which is not to ignore the judgment of other people playing a large part in this. If you are deemed unattracive, then that shit's tough--and some people don't want to live with that. So the issue is more of one of judging "ugly" people, which we are definitely not going to rid of.
OstrichBoi that’s how it is when you are that size once you hit a certain weight its honestly impossible to get that slim skin tight figure without surgery 030 what they do is remove most of the fat from the body and then leave the rest on and from then on you work out and diet and then once you lose more weight it’s safe to take off more fat and do tummy tucks and skin tightening procedures which is what she did you can see she didn’t just get surgery and bam was skinny she was working out and being monitored in the hospital which also means her food intake was monitored
When you lose weight, you end up having loose skin around your body, which requires you to go in surgery to remove loose skin from body. I know this since I helped my mother lose weight and treated her surgery scars. I still find it hard to believe that she has gotten so much better in health and in shape. I think it's pretty naive to say that ugly and fat = innocence and purity, I myself simply think it's laziness, unaware of possible diseases (Hyperthyroidism, diabetes etc.), and lack of hope in future. There are skinny people who are kind too.
And If you don't do any kind of surgery to "to destroy" the "bags" that are utilised to stock fat in your body you gonna be in trouble to stay skinny. (Sorry for my english)

Not only that I was sexually harassed by men all the time. Who cares it's not your health so why do you care so much. It has nothing to do with someone's health, that's just a lie so people can get away with saying someone's ugly cause they don't fit someone else's standards. I had men constantly trying to hit on me. I could never find a really nice guy because all the men focused on was how pretty I look and then all they would talk about is how they would fuck me. If anyone is debating about watching the movie then I recommend that you watch it because I’ve rewatched it 5 times and I still enjoy it from the first time I saw it 4 years ago. It has a lot of good lessons you can learn from also!!
Ive been seeing alot of comments that are like " the guy only loved her when she was pretty". NO he loved her before when she was like that ffs watch the movie its so annoying that people dont understand and make assumptions!!!!!
I remember the first x-factor in my country. There was a woman, she had the most stunning voice, it was literally like angels singing (not just a regular beautiful singing voice). But she was very tall, and had some more bulky, masculine features. She made it to 3rd place I think, but she had by far the best voice I have ever heard; better than Whitney Houston. A beautiful girl, with a beautiful voice, though not as good, placed higher. And whenever people were talking about her voice, there was always a comment tied to her appearance; either of pity, or making fun of it. It shows how powerful appearance is. Even if you have the voice of an angel, looks still matters; wether you have them, or don't have them.
Its playing on Tubi right now. If you have a Roku TV then it should have the app in it already. Just sign up and you can watch....its totally free. Thats how I watched it.
This is one of my favorite korean movies....never get bored in rewatching it.....it's got great comedy and is relatable cuz it's got 3D characters (each character's got their weak and strong points and has major impact in the story line).....this should have been a tv show....the main guy is not just a hot stud who uses people for profit (I mean, most managers do at the end of the day, especially those in the Entertainment sector), but also matures near the end of the film as well....the casting selection did a great job in choosing their actors. Each actor played their character hilariously well and nothing was forced, thus everything was done in a logical sequence. Well done!

Anyways thank you, and I always thought it was dumb to say thanks for 1k or more likes, but now I feel I might just have been envious of others.🤗Take care

@@worldforger6456 it's a fucking movie she not even fat in real life
She's so cute even before the surgery this just comes to show like all people are beautiful LOVE YOUR SELF!!!
Sometimes it isn't that easy. the point is to show how happy it makes her to be pretty once she is, everyone knows its not that simple.
I love how _this_ is your issue, and not the insane editing where she's implied to have been wearing bandages over her eyes for months, while losing 100 pounds on a treadmill. This clip is really misleading... I actually saw the full movie before coming across this clip and lemme tell you, I recommend the movie, I cried. If you don't mind spoilers:
It's a story of Kang Hanna, she is not conventionally attractive and on top of that she's fat.

Well she was probably 300 pounds subtract that by 200 and you get her weight now which would be 100
I think he's always liked her though?

OstrichBoi- She didn’t onto do plastic surgery on her weight.
Liposuction sculpts your body but it does not mean you lose weight. You can only take off a certain amount of fat at a time or else you can die.

Cause it’s a real problem
@@user-me8fm5yf4n A real problem, yes. But the OP was referring to the movie, so I implied movie as well. That was all.
The movie title 200 pound beauty
Or even new. The movie is from 2006.
Ive been seeing alot of comments that are like " the guy only loved her when she was pretty". NO he loved her before when she was like that ffs watch the movie its so annoying that people dont understand and make assumptions!!!!!
Yeah like when she said Hanna was ugly he kept saying she isn't and that she's amazing and one of a kind
SHE HAS A WONDERFUL VOICE
when the plastic surgeon said it's too natural i wheezed so hard SJHDJHGFSKJGSHGSKJHSKJLJFDS how ironic
What country? I’d like to look her up :)
im convinced this is why susan boyle didn't win BGT, she had the pipes for it

*'lets redo the nose*
That part got me 😂
This is one of my favorite korean movies....never get bored in rewatching it.....it's got great comedy and is relatable cuz it's got 3D characters (each character's got their weak and strong points and has major impact in the story line).....this should have been a tv show....the main guy is not just a hot stud who uses people for profit (I mean, most managers do at the end of the day, especially those in the Entertainment sector), but also matures near the end of the film as well....the casting selection did a great job in choosing their actors. Each actor played their character hilariously well and nothing was forced, thus everything was done in a logical sequence. Well done!
LMAO WHEN SHE RAN AWAY WITH THE MOTORCYCLE HELMET I DIEDDDD
If y’all never watched this movie , you are missing out. It’s such a great movie 🥺💕
