Great reactions from Jess and Mike, to the wonderful Dave Allen. Dave Allen was superb at stand up, ( or in his case sit down ) but it is his comedy sketches that made him famous.
Aw that took me back. I watched The Dave Allen show as a kid in the mid 70's. He's one of the best comedians to come out of Ireland and was a big favourite across the UK. You should look up his work, give yourselves a treat.😂👍
As a Brit living in the USA I am always surprised that people here do not know how to tell time in 24 hour format (military time) Something that stuck with me from my school days in the UK.
I had always assumed that in the time of sitting in front of computers, and now tablets and mobiles, that the time was set to 24hr. And then finding out most Americans don't. I look to see what the time is and I'm looking at a number starting 17, as a Brit.
Oh yes please, I echo the calls for Dave Allen on aeroplanes! I never missed one of his shows, he was always my go-to comedian because he didn't just stand there and make jokes, he pointed out the absurdities of real life - and there's nothing so weird as real life!
Dave was a wonderful funny irosh comedian. He has some great jokes here, adan and Eve, religion and aeroplanes. There are so many more. Hope you enjoy them.hello from Ireland 🇮🇪
Adore Dave Allen, used to watch him with my dad and I have so many happy memories, thank you. You may also want to look at Ripping Yarns, hysterical. Love from Scotland x
Ah dave Alan when of the great storytellers of comedy, I remember the whole family sitting down to watch his shows together. Not something we seem to do much these days 👍❤🏴
You guys go from strength to strength, so many great reactions and just enjoying this so much, cheers muchly! Oh and Dave Allen was mostly calm & collected, he was great at playing the easily wound-up (get it!) father teaching time here though! Another great comedian rabbit hole here!
My Mum's from Scotland ...I grew up on Dave Allen as a Irishman he was protested against in Ireland ....that's a long way around to saying check out some of his religious stuff. He had a whole show with Skits on the BBC called Dave Allen at Large! It was usually played in Canada at least around 11 pm so I got to stay up Friday nights watching Dave and Benny Hill and then there was Are You being Served? as well as other Brit shows. His take on Adam & Eve is brilliant!!
Being British, I learnt the 24-hour clock(military time), a skill I fear is dying out, although our trian & bus timetables are in 24-hour clock, so there is hope. Love your reaction guys. 😂👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hope u both ok love the channel .love mickey flanagan two ronnies an dave allen .you hve to watch dave allen religion ul love it . Hope u both ok keep up great reactions
Hi Mike Jess,my name's Ian from England, there's loads of Dave Allen,I watched his programme, GREAT,you need to watch Dave talking about religion, flying, going to school, watch the religion first, great to watch you two,if you want to know any other things I'll try and help you, Faulty Towers is good,
I remember one time I was standing in the queue at the supermarket here in London, UK and an elderly woman behind me tapped me on the back and asked me for the time and as I was about to get my phone out, I noticed there was a clock on the wall saying 17 : 55 or whatever. Then just as I noticed, the person in front of me had finished and it was my turn to start loading my items from my basket on to the conveyor belt, so I told the elderly woman about the clock for her to look at for herself and then began taking my items from my basket. A few seconds later, she tapped me on the back again and asked me if I could tell her because she said that she could not tell the time in 'digital'.
Thanks for the reaction. Dave Allen is as always hilarious. Of course the way to tell the time is for comical reasons messed up. However, they way how we measure time is totally puzzling. Fractions of seconds are base 10. Seconds and minutes are base 60. Days are based 24 (our in the US base 12 + am and pm). Actually there is no easy we to do it. You have to learn a lot to tell the time. It could have bean easy if we would have stick to decimal time as introduced by the French during the french revolution.
Like all the best comedians, Dave Allen was a story teller that just so happened to tell funny stories. A very clever man whose comedic timing was as good as it gets. Billy Connolly had the same talent. ‘They don’t makem like they used to’ as the saying goes 👏
One of the funniest people to ever live, a great story teller, please explore more. He will rapidly become a favourite, I recommend Adam & Eve (or Religious Jokes compilation as Adam and Eve is included in that)
A few years ago, somewhere here in England, an exam (test) was taking place. Part way through, the clock up on the wall had to be replaced with a digital one because the sixteen year olds couldn't tell the time on the original one as it was analogue.😔
Hi Guys greetings from England 🇬🇧 and Dave Allan was a truly great Comedian who was such a good story telly and you should check out Dave Allen on Religion.
10 & 2 for hand positions is out of date: it's now 9 & 3. If you use the 10 & 2, then if the air bag goes off your hands are flung into your face! Dave Allen used to drink in a pub near to where I used to live. His 'whiskey' on stage was flat ginger ale.
I get stressed because the kids look at their phone for the time...they don't know what a clock is lol! In England their phone shows military time so good luck explaining that x
In the UK once you've mastered the clock, it's time to learn the one hundred hour clock. I think this is known as military time. This is essential because in the UK all timetables are in military time. The great late Dave Allen has hours of programs, try his take on religion a classic.
One intensely traumatized child. I never had a problem picking up the concept of time and reading a clock like this. Miss Roslyn on Romper Room must have had the knack. Then there was Play School. I was sat in front of that and I absorbed it all. I just love watches and clocks. The only problem is that I have sensory sensitivity to the ticking sound and sudden sounds like the chiming of the hour. The problem was compounded one night when the grandmother clock just outside my bedroom door dropped both it's weights in the middle of the night. I was thankful that we couldn't afford to get it repaired so it stayed silent vigil to the days stuck around midnight.
Next please reaction Putri Ariani Cover I Will Always Love You by Whitney Housten Live in MALAYSIA, Penang City... and one more reaction Putri Ariani Cover I Will Survive by Gloria Gayner, at the same time in the MALAYSIA, Penang City. Thank you so much Mike and Jess for you reaction Putri Ariani again ❤😊🙏
Saw him live at Chichester Festival Theatre. It hurt I laughed so much.. Dave was kinda the original anti woke comedian and tackled taboo subjects nobody else would approach..The Ricky Gervais of the time
I totally failed at teaching my nephew how to read a clock, so I can understand Dave Allen's frustration. He may still not know as an adult, when I think about it - and likely doesn't need to in today's world. I also failed to teach him to tie his shoelaces, arduously attempting to teach him 'loop, swoop and through' for months. One weekend he comes back from his father's and ties his shoes, using the bloody 'bunny ears' method. 👿
Most Americans don't use military time, as we do in the UK, and in Europe ? it's so simple, 00-12am, till noon is morning, then from 12 noon, back on up to the 12, from then on it is in the pm, it becomes afternoon, evening, or night, its AM or PM, that's the whole 24 hours, it's not that difficult, ,then there are the numbers in between, the minute hand, so the minutes from the 12 to the 6, are passed the hour, ie its 10 passed, or it's 25 passed the hour, some people may say after the hour ? then from the 6 back up to the 12 it's to the hour. Simples ! That was the way I was taught time in my childhood, by my father, it took some time to understanding it but I got there in the end, and then I got my first wrist watch, a TIMEX, this skit was a good laugh, and brought back memories of telling time. Most people these days don't have watches it's all digital now, they have it on their cell or mobile phones (us Brits have our settings set in military time , it's just the norm for us 😊😊) Dave Allen was a brilliant comedian, try out his Adam & eve or airplane skit, you won't be disappointed 🤣🤣🤣
Dave was a fantastic comedian, there are a few on youtube that are really funny, one was his shows on religion, that will make you think lol there are 2 or 4 on that subject, try and get the full version, some only cover the adam and eve thing, but there is one that gives most of that show. also another about flying thats funny also. I grew up watching dave and looked forward to his show every week, not only is he a great comedian he also gave you something to think about. This is the religious one to get you started ua-cam.com/video/mYXenjpefNU/v-deo.html enjoy, let the laughs begin Jess your laugh is the best lol
I teach maths to adults in community, and time is a thorny one. This doesn't even cover all the tricky bits - why does it change from AM to PM when the hour number goes from 11 to 12, not when it restarts? I mean, if you already know, it makes sense; but when you're first trying to get your head round it, it just seems silly. Then you've got extra differences based on where they come from: for example, for Germans, half past six is halb sieben ("half seven"). Fun, fun, fun.
I have to be honest guys, I was never a huge fan of Dave Allan. I used to watch him on TV in the early 80's but just couldn't jell with him. Loads of folk love him, I guess it's just taste.
Yes, there is a better way. First teach hours Then teach minutes Then put them together. Then teach the 24 hour clock. Then give up and get them a phone instead.
Please please react to Dave Allen Airplanes. It is one of his best, far superior than this one. You will never look at air travel in the same way again without laughing. Please watch it, you will laugh so hard, because everything he says is total true and looking at it through Dave Allen's eyes it is completely hysterical and ridiculous. 🇬🇧😀
Funny to watch you getting annoyed on behalf of the child . Also you have to think of his age , he grew up in the 1950s kids got shouted at all the time . That said we learned to tell the time but mainly with school books .
Loved Dave Allen,he was a true comedy genius and he is sorely missed😢
Sure was.I had the good fortune of seeing him live, and have a stack of Dave Allen dvd's.
The man had no equal.
Sitting here with tears from laughing. How did we ever learn to tell the time?
The greatest comedian ever 👌👌👌
His timing is just brilliant...
Dave allen and spike milligan the two best irish comedians ever 😂.
Great reactions from Jess and Mike, to the wonderful Dave Allen.
Dave Allen was superb at stand up, ( or in his case sit down ) but it is his comedy sketches that made him famous.

His first day at school is brilliant .

Aw that took me back. I watched The Dave Allen show as a kid in the mid 70's. He's one of the best comedians to come out of Ireland and was a big favourite across the UK. You should look up his work, give yourselves a treat.😂👍

I would like to see the American reaction to an analogue clock wit Roman numerals.
No guys, this comedian is absolutely hilarious. Not to sure about this one, but man the more you explore this guy will have you in stitches 😂
If it was easier it wouldn't work, Dave was a great story teller.
Exactly. That’s why it’s funny. Shouldn’t need explaining.
Love this clip, love this reaction 😆😍😂👍👏🏻🇬🇧
Was my nans favourite, brilliant comedian with impeccable timing.
Oh yes please, I echo the calls for Dave Allen on aeroplanes! I never missed one of his shows, he was always my go-to comedian because he didn't just stand there and make jokes, he pointed out the absurdities of real life - and there's nothing so weird as real life!

yay i asked for this! glad you liked it, he has so many videos out there to check out.
I remember one time I was standing in the queue at the supermarket here in London, UK and an elderly woman behind me tapped me on the back and asked me for the time and as I was about to get my phone out, I noticed there was a clock on the wall saying 17 : 55 or whatever. That's how I learned 😅

I got lost when he was trying to explain a clock.
Bristol has a three handed clock where the third hand is for Bristol Time !!!
Dave's sketches were great the two Coffins going to the Graveyard is very silly and Dave talking about the partitioning of Heaven is trippy !!
Yeah his take on airplanes is hilarious
I get stressed because the kids look at their phone for the time...they don't know what a clock is lol!
In England their phone shows military time so good luck explaining that x
Love you guys i really do. Btw at 55 secs the term is Ten to Two as in the time, not Ten and Two. Just saying haha
His bit about Religion is great too! React to it please! Dave Allen on Religion
I have a 24 hour analogue clock - just to mess with my kids minds.
In the UK once you've mastered the clock, it's time to learn the one hundred hour clock. I think this is known as military time. This is essential because in the UK all timetables are in military time. The great late Dave Allen has hours of programs, try his take on religion a classic.

The difficulty with the clock / watch dial is that it is a combination of two dials, the hour dial and the minute dial.
Try Dave on religion.

If you want something else on time, check out "what time is it Eccles?" By Spike Milligan. It is from the 1950's but very hard to fault the logic
You should watch his one on airplanes.

You MUST watch his skit on religion!
Dave Allen the best! Try him on Religion, Adam & Eve, First day at School, 18 year old males, Supermarkets, Flying...
When you get a moment you might want to try Harry Enfield, Women Know Your Limits.
i concur with the comments please check out more of this guy and dick emery
My clocks have Roman numerals

Adam and Eve is brilliant.
O M G you were how old.
Yes, there is a better way.
First teach hours
Then teach minutes
Then put them together.
Then teach the 24 hour clock.
Then give up and get them a phone instead.
Try military time when one is thirteen and twelve is twenty-four.
Or German military where twenty-four is four and twenty...
Please react to his Adam & Eve routine 🇬🇧
Please please react to Dave Allen Airplanes. It is one of his best, far superior than this one. You will never look at air travel in the same way again without laughing. It's said that the US driving test is the easiest in the world.
Funny to watch you getting annoyed on behalf of the child . Also you have to think of his age , he grew up in the 1950s kids got shouted at all the time . That said we learned to tell the time but mainly with school books .
You’re born in 1993? Crikey, everyone’s a bit younger than me now. I’m 1991
Not everyone is meant to teach😂😂😂
I prefer Roman numerals on clocks
10 and 2 is no longer a thing. It's 4 and 8 now because of airbags.
Adam and eve!!
Simple if you have a sundial and a Roman nose!
I will recommend :
Dave Allen on sperm
Dave Allen - young men turning 18
Dave Allen on children part 1&2
Just to mention a few 😉
