When I went to put the chords in on my midi device which is the akai and selectees progressions it doesn’t update my beat pad and is still playing the sounds from the 2nd drums track.. even though it will let me manually put it in the computer on the virtual beat pad? What is the reason I follow the exact same steps you did just wondering
When you added the chords, you switched from a 2 bar loop to a 4 bar loop. It would be nice to see how you did that and copied the drums from the beginning.
Everything is good until 2:23 the notes are different on my pad. However I can play the selected notes through the computer pad that is displayed on the screen. Any help on how to make them play through my pads ?
@@ontrada thats not what he was asking. he's saying his pads on his device dont make the rhodes sounds, only when he clicks the squares on the computer with his mouse. i have the same issue. my midi controller has pads, knobs, and keys though.
@@90sbaby1 First of all, sorry for being so late. I hope i can help you with that now. You have to look above the squares, there are A B C D E F ... , then you need to select A and it should work. If you dont know where this is, it is above ARP, Half Level 16 Level and Erase .
@@viermenschen Yea that's not what we were saying either. Someone told me a while ago how to do it. You have to go to Edit-Preferences-Midi/Sync-select "Master" and select "Sync" for everything. Then you have master control and syncing through your MIDI.
wow really easy software to use and straight to the point. 1. issue I ran into so far was on the Akai MPK225 keyboard the sync is perfect but when you change the chords to record progression on the pads it only play one key and not chords. I can be on a different track (which is #7 as shown in video) and soon as I hit pad #5 the sound immediately exits the synth sound and goes back to the drum kit which is Track 1 and drums will play and not the synth . Any suggestions and help on that one??
for the fact that i doesn't play chords, just notes, go to the menu in the top left, edit > preferences then go to midi something on the left and on Input devices press the reset settings on your device
Hey Akai - Bug, bug and bug here. It's not MPC One but personally impossible to use Chords or Progressions with MPC BEATS + my totally new MiniPlay3, incredible - Always and always one note … this software is so boring - Since the first day impossible to install vst MiniGrand, Velvet and Hybrid with my new MiniPlay (apparently not the only one), free instruments? It's a fucking joke. All my others vst are ok but vst Akai fail !!!?? - Honestly this software in a nightmare … no pad perform, no vst … Someone had a solution ? Or I go directly with Ableton and say bye to Akai after 2 weeks ?

This 🐂💩 is not user friendly! I'd rather just use the hardware. I downloaded this 💩 to my h/p and tried to link up with the hardware. This fuck 💩 made me so anger I uninstalled it. I rather use fruity loops and cool edit. But the 🤬 up thing about it is they don't make cool edit no more.
Andy's videos are cool, but he runs through them fast and glosses over a lot. It would be cool to have a little more depth and detail to them. This software does quite a bit more than the videos make it seem.

This isn't a house track, this is a house LOOP. You need to show how to create the other parts of the song. Loopitis is a major problem, and tutorials like this just make it harder for beginners to have a chance of breaking out of that, if they don't know how to arrange multiple parts together.
That's exactly my problem. Started with MPC Beats yesterday and since then im serching for a way to turn tracks off and on in song mode and how to make a whole song without manualy recreating all the sequences for it. The next part is just me complaining about the software experience: Also the whole akai package is a huge chunk of bloatware. First you need to register 3 different accounts, akai, inmusic and ilok. Then you register your product to get the downloadlink to their manager software, the manager software installs mpc beats and your instrument packages, but you can't change the install location. So everything lands in the C drive. That's my system only drive and I normally have all my programs on D. Oh but the serial key you get cannot be used with their manager software, you need to get another third party license manager! Isn't that great. And the best part is, the automatically installed ilok license manager is not working, you have to download the software from the ilok page, which looks like their maintanance stopped 1998. I stopped it there and decided to NOT use hybrid 3, mini grand or velvet. The akai mini is a great controller and mpc beats looks like a good piece of software. But I really wish the control over the install process would be more custom and professional.
it's not a house track by genre either--this is classic house. We *all know what we mean when we say HOUSE* lol we mean that Ibiza vibey stuff like you hear at the mall/beach these days or moneymaking UA-cam vlog music or corporate job tutorial music; this tutorial is outdated stuff you'd hear in the 80s at an Lgbt club (which is fine but not what people mean by House anymore and which will be incredibly difficult to make in MPC beats, it will require a lot of plugins and unnecessary overcomplicated finesse to make simple House beats). This program was made for old head Gen X people, not for young millennials/Gen Z genre beats. The only good thing is that it's an easily accessible DAW. I'm not trying to be negative but it's insane for them to think people are trying to make this type of music anymore or that this is House music that people need tutorials for. I have MPC beats and I have to go to other DAW tutorials for guidance??? Wow.

MPC Beats has two several major awesome features: 1/ allows me to show it to people and they can install it on their box without any hassle (huge) 2/ had "Beats" kits and expansions that are laid out super well on the pads (not something usually like that), very regular, colored etc 3/ Had controller mapping that seems to have been revamped properly for lots of HW. Great.
i am new to MPC beats, and just received the Akai MPK mini and following the video i notice that the bars went from 2 to 4 when you went to input the Rhodes piano. But never said it in the video. Is there a reason why or is this something I am supposed to know. Thank you.

I was lost then and still today returning to it, and it is a challenge beyond words. Why do I need an external controller to operate the software? Why can't I just everything within inside the software? If I need to place a chord, I could to to chord/key progression maker and section and click on a selection of chords/keys wanted to make track.

I don't understand, when switching to Rhodes and copy all you do, then the loop starts at the beginning, before I can complete the melodic pattern as you did. Is that a bug? Why is the loop suddenly shorter in time? Please help. Timecode 2:37

Is there no way to add an additional track to a template? There is no unused track as typically would be there without loading a template. Gotta be a way to do this, I just don't understand why it isn't straight forward.

i had same issue. at the bottom bar of the software window, towards the right side next to the smiley face "feedback" button is a "midi learn" button. Click on it, then select "global" tab, then next to "view" select "all, and then go through the midi mapping dropdown list and search to find Akai> MPC Mini. select it and the knobs will be mapped.
AKAI PRO VIDEO - Please provide updated video tutorials whenever there are software updates or changes. As of August there is no longer PAD PERFROM option 2mins20secs
@@GrapplingwithPhysics I am using the current version of MPC Beats and when I follow this video, the view at the 2mins20s mark I see Q-LINKS, PADS, PROGRAM EDITOR, PROJECT in my MPC Beats as opposed to Q-LINKS, PADS, PAD PERFORM, PROJECT show in the video. I assumeded PAD PERFORM is maybe the older version of PROGRAM EDITOR, but it's different.
THe best thing akai did was get Andy to do their videos. Period !

Yeah it is funny with this tutorial :) I like it is made but that is a like April fools when you follow it :) I just used track view and copy.
1 year late but you go to edit then sequence then double length and it doubles the amount of bars and copies everything from them

MPC Beats includes some of the content. The full F9 has some exclusive kits and plugins instruments.
I prefer a traditional DAW where I can add things and see its as a whole and change parameters etc. Looks overly complicated

When you got the email for the download link there should be other links to download the "Included Content" including f9 instruments.

Is there no way to add an additional track to a template? There is no unused track as typically would be there without loading a template. Gotta be a way to do this, I just don't understand why it isn't straight forward.

Hi, I am unable to use the knobs of akai mini mk3 in my mpc software? Any suggestions to get it would be great
i had same issue. at the bottom bar of the software window, towards the right side next to the smiley face "feedback" button is a "midi learn" button. Click on it, then select "global" tab, then next to "view" select "all, and then go through the midi mapping dropdown list and search to find Akai> MPC Mini. select it and the knobs will be mapped.

@@GrapplingwithPhysics I am using the current version of MPC Beats and when I follow this video, the view at the 2mins20s mark I see Q-LINKS, PADS, PROGRAM EDITOR, PROJECT in my MPC Beats as opposed to Q-LINKS, PADS, PAD PERFORM, PROJECT show in the video. I assumeded PAD PERFORM is maybe the older version of PROGRAM EDITOR, but it's different.
