Cold started like champ, you love to hear that. And you're absolutely right about the salt. Cheers from Canada!

Cheers for the comment 😊 And yeah, never fails to amaze me how a 28 year old car can be so reliable.

Hey everyon! Sorry for the lack of content on the channel recently - I've been extremely busy with work and studies so haven't had much time to work on the car. I will be back soon with more content, I promise!

Actually it got a clean when I serviced the car last year, it doesn't always look like that 😁

Totally agree it seems like they can't wait to throw tons of salt in London, I hate running my car through it but I must. Glad you're and Max are well. Take care son

Nice to see that the car started 1st time. Totally agree with the issue of over-salting the roads here in the UK. I noticed that your fuel gauge reads near empty - a good tip if you are going to store your car for the winter: it's better to store it with a full tank to prevent condensation inside the tank and possible corrosion. I put a fuel stabiliser in too and have no problems with the 5-6 month old petrol when winter is over.

Thanks Phil, good tip! Funnily enough I had to replace all of the fuel in the tank anyway, which is a sad story coming up in the next video 😭

Hey Ian! No I put them in myself when I was upgrading the radio. The fixing I got from MX5 parts, they don't seem to do that exact one anymore but there is a similar one there from IL Motorsport. The clock I just did a Google search for 52mm clock (it's a standard gauge size), but in actual fact I'm looking for a replacement now as that one has been very unreliable.

Hi Rob. I live in London too, but I leave my MX5 on the road during winter. Not in use, just on the road under a half cover.
Do you have any tips on protecting it during the winter? I am now thinking I should maybe invest in a full cover instead.

Yeah it's a tough one finding effective ways to protect a car on the street. I think a full cover is a good idea, since it would protect the bodywork against rain and road spray. My understanding is you need to be a little careful with them since if they flap about too much in the wind they can end up sanding away the paintwork by rubbing dust against it. If the car is relatively clean and the cover is secured properly I don't think it would be that much of a risk though. I also think you would need to find a cover that has a window to allow the registration plate to be read, if it's a public road. But I think I would definitely invest in one myself if I needed to leave my car on the street.

Hi mate, love your 5! Just wondering the clock on your centre console, do you have a link and how did it plug in? Cheers

Hi mate, sadly its not made anymore 😔 Also, mine has started getting unreliable now, so wasn't the best buy unfortunately. I'm still on the hunt for something else in the same size...

@@RobGMyMX5 ahh no worries. I know MX5Parts do them but not sure how they plug in as I don’t trust myself soldering etc hahah

@@Revved_up_jb This one that I have just has a watch battery in it, so no need to plug into anything. Would have been great if it lasted but sadly not 😔

@@RobGMyMX5 that’s a shame! I’m so tempted to get the one from MX5Parts but if I do I’ll let you know how it goes 👍🏻
