If you can’t find a gymnastics school that teaches adults, then consider a martial arts school. You can also stretch, tumble, and kick/punch.
Facts, never thought of this when making the video.
Good shout there pal 💪🏻
Thanks
No where close to being the same unless it's XMA or similar.
No! Martial arts is not a replacement for gymnastics. Martial arts won't teach tumbling. Tricking is the closest thing, as it covers both martial art and tumbling. And tricking schools are also hard to find too. A good alternative/replacement for gymnastics is pole fitness, contortion, aerial silk and aerial hoop. Aerial and pole are much more accessible and easier to find than a adult gymnastics class. I'm gymnast and a aerialist.
@@catnipherb I'm not saying MA is a replacement for gymnastics, but simply a good substitute, if there are no gymnastic/parkour schools or classes available nearby. In judo, jujitsu, aikido and hapkido, you will often learn proper rolls and falls for safety, that can even be applied to gymnastics in general.
I've always wanted to be a gymnast!!! My parents couldn't afford the fees and I taught myself what I could through books. At 36 I'm going to take classes and I'm super excited. I'm also a contortionist and aerialist! Just be open to all knowledge and help. Practice every chance you get and have fun!!!!!
How has it gone so far?
Are you still doing it?
Jesus dude, are you sure you need lessons? 😂
@@feiwnakausvkaxbdkebkswowbq8331 after starting his classes he hasn't been seen or heard since. 🤕
I always wanted to join cheer but my mother never wanted to because of the high stress.
Gymnastics at 25 years old! I’ll be starting soon.
I've been doing adult gymnastics since summer. I'm the youngest in my class by quite a bit at 25, so don't feel too old! If you can't find a place with an adult class, call and ask if you can come to open gym, try adult tumbling classes, see if your local college or universities offer it, or try martial arts, parkour, or diving. A lot of the people at my gym do those instead!
Alot more adults are getting into tricking & gymnastics nowadays so no surprise to me that you’re one of the youngest at 25. I even coach few people in their 50’s.
Awesome suggestions as far as finding a place to train go as well bro 💪🏻
@@tobymccarthy1600Hi from Taiwan. I'm pushing 65. I'd be willing to give it a go.
Great video! If you are thinking about trying gymnastics as an adult, please go for it!! We all had ugly cartwheels, we have all fallen out of handstands, and we've all landed skills our butts. We also know it takes some real guts to go for it, and everyone is really supportive of each other's progress, regardless of where your skills are at. You'll most likely get the basics down more quickly than you may think!
Couldn’t of said it better myself
Great comment! Very encouraging!
This is a fantastic video! Shows your never too old to start anything and should go for it without being shy or ashamed for being a beginner. Great video👍🏽
thats a very cool way to get into the attic
It definitely does the job mate 😂, how you been getting on ?
I'm 20, I was bodybuilding and made good progress but am kind of tired of the amount of food and water I'm drinking & the stress of always feeling like I have to be doing something or getting bigger faster. It's pretty relieving that I still have time to start in the world of movement, gymnastics & mobility. This channel seems like it'll help a lot, so thanks man! 1st missions are Pike stretch, backflip & handstand.
Go for Olympic lifting than gymnastics.
@@Pyasa.shaitan Why though
Im in the same spot except im 22, good luck man! To you and me both haha
Hope your journeys been going well so far brother and those backflips + handstands are coming along!
This video is exactly what I was looking for. Very well structured and informative. Thank you 😊
Bruh.. getting into you secret hideout is so cool. The info was of good quality!! Thanks. Since so many people of different ages are getting into this, gymnastics should be implemented in all schools. Didn't have this in mine.
Thank you for this video. I decided to try gymnastics for the very first time at nearly 40. The first session is tomorrow, and I was a little bit nervous. Feeling a bit happier now 😊
How did it go?
Thanks for sharing about not feeling intimidated or comparing! I have injured myself time and time again trying to keep up with people who have been regulars every week or never stopped as teens like I did! I want to always show I’ve still got it!!! HUGE mistake!!!!
This a dope, underrated channel mate. Please keep sending the content. I'm 42 had GST classes on and off for a few years, going hard on it now using your channel. One love from Stroud. Glos
Awesome to hear brother, been a minute since I’ve posted but we have slot of good content coming soon
7:10 nice explanation of cartwheel
Impressive to watch.
Best video on all the internet, thank you so much !!!
You’re certainly welcome 👊🏻
I understand I'm watching this because I have probably watched way too many videos of backlips on skis, but still this looks very tempting on its own... The worst for me is probably to overcome the fear when I'm upside down.
I am going to try this my friend. TFS. Stay connected 😊
I SOOOOOO WANT TO START GYMNASTICS!!
Go get started! You won’t regret it. 💪🏻

Thanks for making this video.
bro that space is amazing
Thank you so much for this video! I've been trying to do some gymnastics skills, but I'm not so athletic and need to build a base so as to have some progress.
You’re welcome brother, thank you for taking the time to comment.

@@MensGymnasticsAnalysis Legend, look forward to seeing you learn some new skills and very glad you stumbled across the channel 💪🏻
It’s so weird that gymnastics is great for exercise in general but out of the 8 gyms in my city only 1 has adult classes
It’s rare to find a spot that accommodates taught classes, I’ll have some tutorial on the way soon you can use in open sessions if there aren’t any taught classes near you
Great video, thanks! Excited to start classes in January :)
Ayyyyyyy! Love to hear that!
If you need a hand at any point along the way don’t hesitate to get in contact 👍🏻
Such a great tutorial thanks !
No problem at all, if you need a hand with anything . Let me know 👍🏻
Thanks! Inspiring 👏
Awesome Video, thanks a lot!
No problem brother, thank you for watching 👍🏻
Thank you very helpful,
Anytime 💪🏻
Sick vid!! Thanks alot!
No problem bro, plenty more to come 💪🏻
I was scared of doing a roll. I followed the introduction and I did it!
I was so scared 😰 of breaking my neck
If you can't find a adult gymnastics class near you, try and find other classes that are similar/close to gymnastics like...
Ballet, aerial silk, aerial hoop, trapeze, pole fitness, cheerleading, contortion, tricking. Not sure if I want to add Parkour and Free Running to the list.
Things you can do at home and video tutorials you can look up on UA-cam/Instagram/TikTok/etc and try straight away...
Contortion and stretching (for splits and bridges/walkovers), calisthenics (handstands, levers, rings, etc), breakdancing spins/flares/windmills. Rolling. Ballet/gymnastic spins and leaps. And many more.
I found a private coach that was willing to teach me. Too bad I can’t really afford it right now but it changed my life. I want to go back!
Ive been doing Pilates/ yoga and bidy weight training. Are those combined the same as gymnastics?
This is amazing i love you
Thank you very much
Hey, could u teach us how to do get into mount? I’m struggling to understand how to learn it
# يا عليم يا حكيم يا باسط يا كريم يا وهاب يا تواب يا نصير يا بديع يا علام الغيوب...🇵🇸❤✌
👍at 56 . I am interested to learn pamelhorse. I wona basic practice exercises for this. Thanks.
Thank you
You’re welcome buddy
Dude! you are going to crack your head on that moulding one day... just saying. Love the video, thanks
I have waist and back pains probably due to uneven muscle growth, can I relieve it through gymnastics or will I worsen it?
I would suggest starting at a physio to make sure it’s not an underlying issue if that’s clear id say go for it (stick to low impact training)
i am 15, i am an aerialist sinds i am 6 years old and handbalancing sinds i am 12. now i just want to learn some more advanced groundwork. like walkovers, backspring and flips. should i go to my local gymnastic club to learn them?
A lot of fitness from practicing aerial hoop and aerial silk are transferable to gymnastics. You already have a head start than most adults. It doesn't hurt to find a local club and ask teachers there. Also find walkover tutorials on UA-cam, that you can practice at the gym and when you're at home.
Chapter 4 song?
Every single gymnastics place near me is ages 1-18.
Ugh all the classes for adults are at night when I work. This is frustrating. Is this something I can do at home or in a field somewhere?
Yes mate if you go into some of my recent tutorials there a couple basic skills you can learn there.
@@tobymccarthy1600 thanks man
Hi ,I am 20 years old , my weight is 72 kg and my height is 1.68 , and I know that I have extra weight but 1. If I start gymnastics with this weight, will it harm my waist or other parts of my body? Because this is my big dream and 2. There is no gymnastics school in the area we live in. Can I do it myself at home by watching your videos?
Nope, weight doesnt matter. Yes, you can train at home. Just need a sensible plan and some basic equipment. Think bands, fixed hex dumbbells (which double as parrelettes), rings.
17 and 18 years old gamnastik allowed yeah not allowed tell me please 🥺
I want go start classes so bad idk where to find these classes
Where abouts are you from bro ?
I like to Lear Gymnastics ... who can help me with Strength training drills... I have 30% Body fat... 😭😭
All the gyms in my area seem to only be for little kids. I can’t really find anything for people closer to my age, I’m 23. Does anyone else have this issue or am I doing something wrong?
Hey Zachary no, you're doing absolutely nothing wrong. This can be the case in aN lot of areas. Most places offer an open gym session where adults can come and train but adult classes can be difficult to find.
Where abouts are you from? as I may be able to point you in the direction of a gym local to you or at least help you get started and give you some guidence.
I’m in the Manchester area of New Hampshire
Same here bro, I'm 21 and can't find anything near me
Did you say you live in Manchester? There's Manchester Academy Gymnastics in Salford.
When I was thinking about doing gymnastics I was thinking more about rings rather than rolls.
no adult gym classes near me :(
Oh no, not every area accommodated for adults but there’re still ways to learn.
Did you have any skills already in mind ?
Yh I am interested in learning gymnastic rings.
I also started calisthenics 8 months ago
@@nextprogram5945 sick buddy, I’ve got plan in future to do some gymnastics foundations vidoes. Not sure when I’ll get into rings but I’m sure it’ll be on the channel in future
Also call around to CrossFit gyms. A few of them also teach gymnastics and other fitness classes.
nice neck

I really want to begin gymnastics at 16 but there is only one gym near me and they don’t have any classes suitable for my age and ability What do you think I should do as I am really keen to begin gymnastics?
If you can see if any of the gyms in your local area offer any ‘Open Sessions’.
If they do then take yourself along to whenever they do them and start working on basics I.e: Handstand, Rolls, Cartwheels, trampoline flips etc.
If you need help with any skills in particular then let me know and I’ll make a video for you 👍🏻
@@tobymccarthy1600 thank you! My local gym only does open gym for 5-12 year olds sadly. I found a cheer gym though and have began tumble classes :)
@@sienahemingway1830 Love to hear that, keep working hard and the flips and tumbles will all come 💪🏻
Is 38 too old? I have never tried gymnastics
Definitely not!
Go for it!
Nope. I gave it a go at 47. Went great.
i’m not tryna take lessons 😤 im just tryna just watch a video on how to do it
As an 40+ adult, I would better begin under supervision of an experienced coach. Otherwise even some of these basic exercises can cause me injuries. 🤸♂️
Equally important... Prioritize your sleep. Get diet on point.
I want to try gymnastic i want to build up muscle without weights and make my self lighter for me but im too old im 33 already 😢
I'm nearly 39 and I can tumble. Give gymnastics a try! No detriment for trying when you think you're too old.
Your neck muscles are overshadowing your shoulders... Does gymnastics over train the neck and neglect shoulders?
Those are not neck muscles. Those are his traps which is a back muscle.
speek slowly
Poor start. Flips are lame and not for adults, more of a kids thing. Adults would probably prefer strength elements.
