Bit late to the party but holly geck this guy saved me. I had goten one of these used for modle railroad printing. And well it was usef. Haha. His channel saved me
Thanks for this. Made my first FEP change almost a breece. One thing I screwed up is using a bottlecap which had a small nob in the middle. I thought it was harmless, but it made some small scratches. Also when I was testing the tightness by tapping softly with my nails, it also made visible dents. I don't know if I may have low quality FEP or it's just that sensitive. Doesn't affect print quality at all, but next time I'll be more carefull.
Hi I got to say that I have had issue after issue not being able to get a print of my Proxima. I decided to replace the FEP and used this video and boy it worked a treat first print I tried worked straight away. Thank you very much for posting this
Thank you for this video. Hadn't come across the "tuning" process; will need to print me a puc! I used a good litre of resin without issue but quickly started to notice a tiny pin-prick hole in the FEP causing around 2mm resin leakage onto the screen! Now having major issues with "flaking" on prints. Hoping the replacement FEP addresses this issue
I don't see an obvious leak on my fep but after each print I have a mystery blob of resin on the screen....which sometimes ruins the print. Bad FEP? I wonder if I stretched mine out when installing/using a wham bam flex plate without using the suggested spacer
Great video, Thanks! I am going to be changing the FEP on my Proxima soon, I have made some newbie mistakes with it lol. Do you have to use the spacer if you are using the pre-cut sheets from Voxelab?
Apologies for the audio. I got Airpods for Christmas and thought they were going to work with my recording software but it turns out they did not so this is just stock audio. It's passable but not as good as I would like.
I didn’t follow that part either. I mean, obviously his method worked, but I don’t see how starting with a bulge in the FEP helped it be flat in the end. What am I missing?
You have to have the right amount of tension on the FEP so the models will peel away from it. You don’t want them to pop off, which is what will happen if the fep is too tight. Putting the spacer in place will make sure it gets to just the level of tightness. You will often hear people refer to this as tuning the fep. To tune the fep you measure its frequency as you tighten it and stop when it is just right. But if you space it right you don’t have to worry about measuring it and can tighten it down all the way. That makes it a lot easier.
@@TrueEliteGeek u might have mentioned this... dude explain every detail people are doing this for the first time.. starting with a bulge and then to flat how was it tensioning when all it looked like was tightening the flat plates... ur confusing people.. the exact opposite of the purpose of the video
Gatorade cap or some of us use 32 playing cards, that will give you the required slack in the FEP so when you screw the frame those screws put the remaining tension for the prints to peel correctly as they're printing
@@patrickfutato6555 because if you tensión too much from the start when you install the frame into the vat you will over stretch the FEP and it may look correct it wont have the necessary slack for the prints to peel the correct way
@@TrueEliteGeek thank you so much, I found a resin vat with the FEP attached, for the Proxima, do you think that would work on the Polaris? Just wondering if that would be worth it.
so i know this is an old video, but i thought i would post this in case anyone had my same issue: there is not an extra FEP sheet in the box for the proxima. i thought i had a spare. when my tank got punctured, I changed it. Well, it turns out what i installed was the protective film. i guess the factory decided to place it in the box instead of tossing it. so, dont make the mistake of installing it in the printer....
@@TrueEliteGeek i dont this Gatorade is available in the UK. Would you be able to measure the hight of the bottle lid so i can find an alternative please.
I can’t get to it right now. But you should be able to download the file and see the measurements there. I think I also measured it in my Sovol vat FEP replacement video.
Anycubic has tried. But they were not ready. You can see what they did with the Mono here. ua-cam.com/video/FXOh0UnmXE0/v-deo.html One part FEP, just screw it in. Except you can't actually buy them yet so we have all had to buy new vats instead.
