- There are 8 main Nurse Practitioner specialties that you can choose from before starting your nurse practitioner education. In this video, we'll be discussing the different nurse practitioner specialties, what the difference is, and what the nurse practitioner job role will be with that specific NP certification. It's not all about what's the most paid nurse practitioner specialty. After watching, hopefully you'll know which nurse practitioner specialty is best for you.
Personally, I am an FNP, which offers great flexibility. However, many people have trouble choosing FNP vs ACNP, and it all depends on what you want to do in the future.

Seriously just wanted to say thank you for this video! I’ve watched so many and this is by far the best!
Loved this video!! Can you give more examples on types of specialty clinics FNPs can work in? For example, I was interested in maybe doing something within the pediatric respiratory realm in an outpatient clinic. I don’t really have an interest in working in urgent care clinics, will I have a hard time getting a job if I go the FNP route?
This is terrific work
Thanks Will. Your presentation is super easy to understand.
My friend Thanks for sharing this
How about dermatology and aesthetic nurse practitioner?
could you make a video explaining how to find preceptors while in NP school? since most schools don't provide this service; and how your experience was finding preceptors. thanks!
I am about to finish my NP school some school will provide you options and offers that you can either accept or decline. Also you can personally call clinics, urgent cares, family practice offices (speak with manager) ask peers if they know someone like an NP or a MD, is not as hard as you think it is. It can be very stressful but 100% of the student are able to find a preceptors. I currently attend to GCU.
Very elegant💎💎💎
Can you please tell about oncology nurse practitioner
I don’t know if NP is Worth spending all my life time for because i have tried youtube l associates and some others and still failed 4 attempt. I feel so frustrated don't know what to do anymore don’t even have time for my own kids any more 💔💔💔😔😔.
Sometimes it doesn't matter how hard you study you also need to pray to God for success
I have a cousin who never studied much, we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than her studies after writing the RPN test last month she passed and i failed😢, i asked her how she did it, just found out she got help from Mrs Cynthia
I once told myself I’m not going to continue knocking that old door that doesn’t open for me. I’m going to create my own door and walk through that.
I heard some registered nurse talk about her, I did not understand what they were saying, I hope she replies my text on WhatsApp
The truth is most RPN, RN's and NP's you see today passed with cynthia help, my sister passed thanks Cynthia and I'll be sitting for my exam in two weeks, I'm studying what Amelia provided already i trust her and i know with her I'll pass
Hi, I'm a new student. I've just joined prerequisite program for NP school. Quick question. I loved the medical field but I married with kids. I can't afford not to make enough money so which of all of these would give me the most opportunity to go into something like a specialty to be able to make nice money? thanks in advance.
Hospital can be close down due to telephonic consultation ? N.can nursing career is going to dye??
do you feel that a nurse needs icu experience in order to get a job as an acute care NP?
Love your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much!
@@WillKellyNP Hi! My name is Gabriel. I am from Brazil. I am studant the of nurse. Can the ANP in independent practice determine patient hospitalization and hospital discharge? Thanks
what do you think would be the best speciality for an NP that wants to work in plastic surgery or dermatology?🙏🏼
FNP. It’ll certify you for all ages and then you’ll have to get a job in derm, plastic surgery, or a wellness spa. There is Botox certification you can get as well to help you get a job
Love from India
Great info. Just a heads up, nearly all ENP programs require the applicants to already be certified as an FNP.
Great video!
Thanks for watching :)
Can you change specialties without continuing education?
Have you ever considered the PA route? What made you choose NP over PA?
I honestly didn't consider it before starting nursing school, and NP was always my end goal. If I wasn't already a nurse and then wanted to become an APP, I would definitely consider PA!
What specialty should I do if I want to be a nephrologist NP?
I want to see a real doctor
Which specialty should I do with oncology NP?
AGACNP
Can you do one on Nurse Midwife? Love your video so informative
Can you do Psych as a AGNP???
Adult and Geriatric Practitioner? or Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner?
For either: The answer is: "Yes!" But this would involve intensive training in principles of psychiatry and psych meds-to be within the one's "scope of practice"-and usually within the [direct review and discussion of a psychiatrist-and within the frequent discussion of the current treatment plans-with a psychiatrist.
@@ticks4ticks4 Can family medicine nurse practitioner diagnose you with mental health disorder?
Whats the difference to an doctor then? In Germany this is not allowed
Yes; in many countries other than the U.S.A.- a "Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)"- or even an "advance practice nurses"-are not qualified or trained to do such work. The advantages of an "NP"-and/or:
" PA"-in the U.S.A.-include: ability to schedule patient appointment slots at a clinic when doctors have busy schedules.
awesome Videos, less spooky......kidding
Do you think the pay for nps who’ll increase by 2035?
I’m sure it will, but will it keep up with inflation? That’s the question
@will Kelly, NP where have you been? I usually look forward to your videos!
@@andreroggy1191 fell off the face of the earth for a bit, but I’m back and am trying to be more consistent :) thanks for noticing!
