what gets me so badly is that this isnt even the worst case scenario. this is how the warp train WORKS. for every trip full of happy customers, there's been a "love town", or even worse.
Technically there hasn't been a love town. The town itself was an anomaly caused by the Distortion Ensemble coming in and introducing their own craziness to the equation. So there's ONLY regular trips of people slowly losing their minds as the monotony of their stasis leads them to ever-greater acts of depravity until all of their humanity is sucked into the infinite void of time until a greater power flips a switch and suddenly it's like nothing ever happened.
@@olixx1213 In terms of people ending up utterly insane and tearing eachother apart, leaving them in piles of vicera for thousands of years. But this is unique because people entered who straight up turned them into body horror creatures and i havent gotten to this part of the game yet and havent finished the video, I assume that anyone of the townsfolk who went to the library will never be turned back to normal like the victims of other Warp Train trips.
Trains in lobcorp: practically just hell Trains in ruina: practically just hell Huh... sooo from this pattern I think we can establish that trains are evil

As much as I love the original From a Place of Love, I prefer the Key Ingredient remix Mili made because it emphasizes the horror aspects of Love Town. For those who have not heard it, From A Place of Love Key Ingredient Remix is From a Place of Love but sung by a chorus and the vocalists get more childish with their voice and wording as the song goes on representing how the people of Love Town regressed to the minds of children. It is absolutely haunting.
I seem to recall a similar event happening in Lem’s “Diary of the stars” Although sadly I couldn’t tell you the chapter. Then again time travel & time dialation and other equally horrifying phenomena happen troughout the book. To the point the chapters are out of order.

@Mika Hare No wonder there is a similar concept shown in this chapter - something that horrible and theoretically extremely realistic works great as a horror story for a sci-fi book) I really hope it will forever stay as just a theoretical concept though...
@Lily_Denrose what if it's already real, what if say... you're victor kemmings, or like the color fixer on the first class deck, cryofreezed, and this world is but an illusion made by the AI so that you don't lose your sanity? maybe you wish something like "man, i hope i live in the good old days", or more real scenario, since technology advance rapidly, you're an elderly nearing your death in geriathric, and your last wish is to revisit your past?
i REALLY wish there was more scenes of the madness slowly progressing. and more imagery of everyone else. the concept is great, but they definitely underestimated how long it takes for humans to degrade without stimulation. a thousand years would definitely be enough time to forget everything, but the way it's shown so suddenly really undermines how long it's been and makes the horror a bit weaker imo after beinf trapped for a thousand years someone would probably degrade completely into mush from boredom and lack of stimuli. even someone who comes in with a plan wouldn't be able to last that long unless they were like. the strongest willed person on the planet. or maybe im just too weak willed lol? either way i wish they had made it a bit differently and expanded on it more. holy shit the song is haunting though.
The WARP Train scenario sorta reminds me of that one Stephen King short story, "The Jaunt", where mankind has discovered instant teleportation but can only use it while unconscious due to the fact that using it while awake makes the journey take a mental millennia. also tomerry needs counseling
Without going into spoilers the mechanics behind it could make 2 companies have extremely skilled fighters and low stress employees but they don't. The mechanics can be set to smaller intervals or have a failsafe button to get out and the benefits is extra McGuffins. There's no downsides! They just set it to basically OVERKILL GATHERING if I recall correctly. 🤔
Spoilers for the next chapter in the line . . . . . . . This isnt extra ordinary this is HOW THE TRAINS WORK.
