Just started watching your videos. I’m building a k1 cafe. So getting ideas. I’m a mechanic and own my own repair shop. Worked for a luxury car manufacturer for over 20 years. In saying that it’s really cool to see the way you look at things, your perspective. Everyone has a different way of looking at things. It give me ideas
Bro your videos are honestly some of the best, most entertaining videos I’ve come across on UA-cam! I don’t even own a bike anymore but I am building 2 BMW cars currently. I could watch these videos all day, they’re mad informative and just simply to the point. I wish you were rebuilding an E39 540i tho, that would be perfect for me so I’m not over here breaking shit left & right just to find out it was a waste of time and not necessary! Lol
I'm just catching up on your videos, as I'm starting to tear down my '92 K75. BTW - Congrats on the new job. And congrats on getting Lady 6 on the road. I'm looking forward to your Five-part series on the build, costs, and psychology of bike building.
And I was worried when you finished it however many moths ago you'd stop posting 😂 Still loving the output, pleased to hear your apparently OK (after the laundromat thing I was concerned!) Look forward to further exploits and tables of bags!👍✌
I was jonesing for an Illestrator vid! Now I just need to post the ones I've got backlogged! Great work, as always! Wish I were closer so we could go ride together.
Question: my K100RT café often has a thing where you hear power running to the starter relais, and you hear the fuel pump running, but starter doesn’t engage. Thinking it is the brushes maybe? Relais and power all seems good. Nice build btw!
USPS has been tossing a wrench into everybody's projects... They turned my chain and sprocket job into a nightmare, plus I busted the mic for my vlogging setup... It's takes 10 years for replacements to come now. lol! Good to see there is some good fortune going around out there!
Watched every episode in this series from start to finish. Amazing job, can't wait to see those motovlogs on it! If you ever find your way to SoCal, hit me up, I could show you around some dope canyons. Not trying to get subs here, cameras could be off. Appreciate the work you did & would love to pick your brain. Ride safe, peace! ✌
Ha...I recognized the "Chinese finger trap" right away! When I used to work for the local phone company, we used a grounding strap braid that was covered with that blue plastic mesh stuff.
Nice to see progress but I really wanna see a spirited ride on the mountains with her. Also, once you take some pictures, try the clipons on top of the triple tree. Either that or get a clipon/riser like the Thruxton one. I assure you it will make you ride her more.
You might want to keep the spanner wrench. This tool is used to indicate the correct fill level of the transmission. That’s what the line is on the bottom of the wrench. You just stick it in the filler hole and rest the flat part on the machined surface.
Is no one gonna mention how our favourite boy is suddenly white in some shots lmao Anyway I'm glad you're spoiling us with the uploads. Last time I commented, complaining, how the quarantine cancelled my bike lessons and exam. Now my lessons and exam are back on but now I am experiencing what is probably early corona virus symptoms so I can wave bye bye to those lol
@@Theillestrator1050 it's the sunlight man hahaha at 5:40 you appear so white you look like you own golfclubs. (No offense ofcourde ;-P) But the symptoms usually start out as a mild sore throat, raised temperature, and sore muscles. Today I'm feeling fine though and if that keeps going for 24 I'll be cruising on a bike tomorrow 😎
Red and black plastic things on the left are battery terminal covers you get when you first buy a battery that has vertical posts. Not like the kind I saw when you tested the bulb.
Common starter-clutch problem, I had this many times with my K1100... Most times putting the bike in first gear and rocking it backwards and forwards releases the sprockets of the starter-clutch. Heating up the oil by taking the bike out for a nice spin resolves the problem for some time ;)
Tried the rocking backwards thing, first thing I tried. Didnt work. I've since started the bike atleast 20 times after putting rislone and new oil with no issues.
@@Theillestrator1050 Okay, at least we know the K-specific tricks... (btw., your bike has a nice sound and appears to run very smoothly! Nice project!)
Great bike, great build, watched all your Videos! :) Two thoughts though: 1. When you are using the piece of wood to block the movement I think thats fine for loosening, but when you do that while tightening the nut the wood will flex and compress and you really dont know much of the torque you did put into the wood instead of the tightening of the nut. The way is see it you dont really know if all or how much of the torque really went into tightening which might be unsafe. 2. In the last shot (22:05) one can see pretty good that the exhaust isnt FULLY pointed over the rear tire. I´m not sure if that creates an issue, especially if you ride and have airflow you might be OK, but if you have a lot of stop an go traffic i´d worry that your tire gets too hot and might wear excessivly or be unsafe grip wise. I´m by far no expert though, just for your consideration.
Cant say im too worried about the wood thing. 16nm over is a good cushion and plus im by no means the first to do this. As far as the exhaust, its not ideal but I haven't had any issues thus far
Neither is a concern. Even if the piece of wood can move or compress a little then stop again, the torque wrench will only measure what it takes to turn whatever nut/bolt it's on. The exhaust exiting near the tire will have no effect on it's function at all. Beautiful bike! I love it!
Check out project farms oil tests, Amazon Basics oil is made by the same company that makes Walmart's Supertech oil, and they're actually very good oils, better than a lot name brands.
That's good to know. I know it's rebadged supertech but I didn't know it was considered very good. However, the oil i was running was way too thin at 5w20 versus 15w50. Should've atleast got a thicker weight.

awww hell yaah, been waiting for this. dont mind the wrenching
You're in for a treat then!
Absolutely looking forward to "So you want to build a K-bike", my dad and I are rebuilding a K75S right now so that will be well shared!
Should be a great info dump
I love these videos, thanks for making this content. I love K bikes. Nice work.

Hello from across the river in Jersey. Your video content and quality is superb! Hope to ride long side of you this summer.
Good Job on the clutch! The video and stills at the end put it all over the top. This bike looks Bad Ass!
Great work on this bike and congratulations on landing that job!
Congratulations with everything bro. Job and bike and everything else that needs to be celebrated.

I'm sad the build is over!! Great Job illestrator!
In some ways, it is sad... almost makes me want another... ALMOST

I held onto those tools. That's interesting though, so the tools are original.
Mr. Valve you are correct, but I think it’s main task is to adjust the tension of the rear suspension spring.
