    I never would have guessed the PowerHorse was going to be the quieter of the two. As someone else already said, either one would be a great choice. BTW: I'm still diggin' the new intro. It's short, sweet, and classy.

      I think the bigger inverter put less loud on the engine makes it run quieter.
      The intro has a little electric shocking sound in it.

    Really nice job Gavin! I would like to see you join 2 of the Powerhorse 4500 together in parallel and do a showdown against the 9500 Predator. 2 small and light generators against one heavy. You the man Gavin! 👍

    Great check-out, Gavin. The Powerhorse is advertised to have all solid copper windings in it, but I don't recall seeing that mentioned in the Predator's bios. Maybe that's how they're getting the extra oomph out of the P/H. Time will tell on the longevity, but they both seem to be a good, solid value. Thanks.

    Stellar review, I would build my own 50 amp parallel kit using the 30 amp rv outlets for a more solid connection.

    You make great generator videos but what I really wanted to say is..... Damn, you have the nicest, thickest, greenest grass I've ever seen. Your yard is beautiful!

    Your ACs are really efficient. I was loading up my old Homelite generator yesterday and my toy hauler Dometic AC was pulling 1600 watts with fan on high. Everything is brand new too. I may try the soft start in both ACs. I really like all of your generator reviews. I'm not as into it as you but I do love these things. I think I'm going to get the Predator 3500 when I'm boondocking in the desert. The Onan 5500 that I have on board sucks down fuel at a rate that would bankrupt me lol. Thanks for all of your hard work on these reviews!

    I have two older versions of the Predator 3500, they pretty much get the run hard and put away wet treatment during the season; 300 hours on one and 619 hours on the other. With that being said, they do get their proper maintenance intervals and preventive checkups.
    It is definitely a tough choice between the two, I don't really see the benefits of 5 extra running amps and on a 212cc engine, you are kinda pushing it to its limits. Plus, I changed the main jet for operation between 1,000 to 2,000 elevations. Using iridium spark plugs seems to help with the carbon fouling too.

    Hi Gavin, another great video! This isn't criticism, just a request. I think you could've possibly pushed the Powerhorse even further in this test. You definitely maxed out the Predator as we saw the overload light on solid. Surprisingly, it didn't shut down before you made it back in to turn off the stove. The Powerhorse's overload light was only flashing and I thought for sure you were about to add some more load. I was really hoping to see how many amps the Powerhorse could actually handle with its solid light on. I know it's asking a lot, but the next time you have the Powerhorse out of the stable, could you show us?

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  2 роки тому +2

      Hey Lee
      I thought the exact same thing after I was editing the video I noticed the light was still flashing meaning you were approaching the overload
      Yes next time I’ll push it further

    I noticed the yellow plug installed in the 120 outlet. Is that installed to bond the ground and neutral together? Could you explain please?

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  2 роки тому +3

      Generators should always be bonded when being used on an RV
      If the generator is not bonded you will get an open ground fault on your search protector.
      I use a surge protector because in the event of any high voltage or low-voltate it will disconnect and protect my appliances and the RV

    Maybe on comparisons like this you can say who is more expensive at the time. I know it’s hard to state prices as they change quickly but does price have any weight in your picks? Thanks for the hard work on your videos.

    Harbor Freight did update the Predator, but they removed the covers over the switches and the breakers. They also added the carbon monoxide monitor which is a common thing being added throughout the industry.

    I think I’m the detail world the major brands for generators are the Honda 3000 & the predator 3500. We all know the price difference and the extra warranty but which one holds a load better. That would be a good comparison also for load wise, db, functions, size etc. I was in limbo for a while and didn’t know which one to get. I went with the predator because of the sale plus the warranty. But, Honda has the name. That’ll be a good show down.

    Galvin good Job on the video, I have a question, what is the yellow plug you moved back and forth from the 110 circuit. And how to make on if need.
    Thanks Lee S

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  2 роки тому

      It’s called a bonding plug every generator has to be bonded if you’re using it on your RV it connects the neutral and the ground together. Also allows you to run a surge protector.

    Curious why Predator doesn't make a power station to plug into that 30amp plug? With only 2 120v plug in's, seems like a no brainer and would sell like hot cakes as folks could easily plug in as many cords and they need (amperage permitting) on the 30amp side ! ??? Am I missing something?

    I just bought the predator 3500 and the display is showing 0 for amps and watts when under a light load like a fan or a battery charger. Any idea if this is normal behavior? I am suspicious it is not showing the full load, I also plugged in an old refrigerator and it was showing around 180 watts. I would have expected closer to 750 (6.5 amps at 115 volts), but I am brand new to generators and don't really know what to expect.

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  2 роки тому +1

      You may have to plug in a kilowatt meter and compare readings with your generator you can get one like 15 bucks on Amazon
