Wow - great info despite the guy on the left. He offered nothing except interruptions. The guy on the right had all the information and presented it very well in spite of the distraction on his right (our left). SportRx needs to gag the impostor.
The problem isn't really fogging for me, it's that the gradual fog buildup freezes over time and my goggles get an ice layer on the inside. I'd always have to go inside a lodge or something and let it melt away first.
Hello RNG! I have not heard of that being an issue...Most top of the line goggles do come with an anti-fog coating on the inside of the lens. I would recommend being very careful when wiping down the inside of your goggles because it can mess with the anti-fog coating. Please let us know if you have any additional questions!
Spit and toothpaste worked well for me when it comes to scuba diving goggles. When it comes to my snow goggles (I had already ruined my goggles) using a little bit of toothpaste in the same way as scuba diving does work, but not nearly as well.
don't you antifog sprays on your goggles, because sprays designed for the glass, but goggles lens aren't made from the glass. So basically you will destroy factory antifog and probably without getting a new one.
Mg real question is Astronauts up there on the ISS on spacewalks, the difference of temperature is also extreme and these guys can't risk fogging right?
So my goggles keep fogging, then the fog freezes almost instantly so i cant wipe it out. I mean i am skiing in minus 40 celcius but still. I also am a ski noob and this is my first pair of goggles. So at first i started to scratch away the ice with my fingernail (bad move i now have little scratches all over) but i still cannot get these things to stopp fogging/freezing. Any tips, like using dish soap or something? Btw they are smith io goggles
Hey Stumpy thanks for reaching out to us! We think your best option to solve this problem is by getting the Oakley Inferno Line Miner goggle. This goggle features the new fog-free Inferno technology. Essentially, the Oakley Inferno serves as a turbocharged defroster that heats your lenses to keep the fog out. I have had the same problem with Fogging Goggles. The talk compounded by the Covid-19 Mandatory Mask use while in Lift Line Ups and is on Lifts here in BC. We’re around -27C with the Wind Chill factored in. It was a major Powder Day today and I had so much trouble with Fogging and Freezing Skin. My Bro told me to try using “Airhole” face coverings and to tuck it under the bottom of the Goggles. That makes your whole face protected without Fogging issues. I’ll see tomorrow. We’ve had 50 Cms since yesterday and it hasn’t stopped dumping Champagne POW all day this day and we’re forecast for 30-40 Cms for tonight. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Is it impossible to wear glasses under goggles? I want to try that before I order your inserts if I don’t need to. What goggles would you recommend for trying to wear glasses underneath?
It is not impossible, it is just that we get overwhelming feedback about how much people hate it. The problem is that you're using your daily/expensive glasses and jamming them in your goggle. Hopefully, you don't damage/break them! You glasses will sit closer to your face than our inserts and are likely smaller. Both of those things increase the chance of fogging. Not to mention our insert has the option for an anti-fog coating. Feel free to try it out and make sure you get a goggle that is OTG (over-the-glass goggles) and know that we're here an happy to help when you're ready to try our inserts!
Toothpaste is used to clean diving masks during the first one two dives so as to take out any tiny layers of silicon from the glass which happens during the manufacturing process. This is why someone may think that may help with ski googles. However silicon is not used for Ski Google’s so it’s clear this technique is not suitable.
I wear them right now because it is winter in Phoenix but I can't imagine wearing these in the summer it would be so sweaty and horrible I just want to know how to keep them from fogging up
A product called 'cat crap' (yes, that's the real name 😆) can be applied to the backside of a lens to combat fog buildup. It's not 100% effective, but it does get the job done.
Hello Herbert! Either way should work. Depending on the face mask you may be getting heat from the face mask coming up into the goggle. I am assuming the goggle provides a full seal around the outside of your face? Another thing to try is pulling the goggle away from your face to get a little airflow in when it does start to fog up. Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
If you have a full face mask fog is pretty much a guarantee. So I never wear a mask over my nose... Which is not for everyone/all climates The dual pane lenses is a big deal
@@JK360noscope I picked up a pair of Decibel goggles. Spherical dbl lens and front facing top vent on the outside lens. Plus it has side vents, bottom and top vents. I find that once I change directions and the winds behind me. That's when fogging can become more prevalent. And eventually I start getting frost build up. Yup that's not fun as it starts reducing vision. But this video is basically saying...fogging happens even in the best of the best goggles.

I've had success putting my lenses in rice (like you do with a water damaged phone) to get moisture from between my lenses. Only if seal between the lenses is still good though.
I really need help my goggles will fog in between the two lenses and this has happened to me on two multiple pairs of goggles, I don’t know what to do please give me advice
SportRx I do have a older pair but I just realized my helmet vents were closed so I think I fixed it, but thanks for the advice I should also get a new coating
My issue is when I wear a face mask with my goggles, I tuck the mask under my goggles to cover my nose and all my skin. It creates a gap between my nose and my cheek that lets hot air up in my mask. Any recommendations for this?
Hi Dustin! We unfortunately don't have any solid recommendations to fight unwanted fog buildup with your current setup. Your best option is to opt for an Anon MFI goggle. MFI stands for Magnetic Facemask Integration, which means no more tucking your mask beneath the goggles as it uses magnets to attach to the base of the goggle, and the balaclava is vented enough that fogging becomes a non issue. Check 'em out in the link! 👉www.sportrx.com/search/?q=mfi
I have a pair of Decibel goggles that do have the anti-fog/scratch features and also dbl spherical lens. They're helmet compatible too. This company recommended your video as I was always getting fogged up usually happens with the wind at my back. The goggles have side vents, bottom and top and front facing vents top part of the outside lens. I know that near the end of my one hour walks the fogging can increase some and then I get frost build up. Which starts reducing my field of vision. But your video pretty much says...fogging happens even on the best of the best goggles. But your tips should help I'm hoping.
Uh oh... I have really nice interchangeable lens electric goggles and I’ve used windex on ONE of the lenses 💀😂 I can always just use water air and microfiber though, and can resort to buying one if I have to
Hi Sandro thanks for reaching out and watching the video! We wouldn't recommend putting your goggle directly on a radiator to dry. Most goggles are made of plastic and if it gets to hot the frame of the goggle can be damaged. If you need to dry your goggles try to hang them up close to where the heat source is and leaving it there for a little bit of time.

I have read in some strings the Smith anti fog is embedded in the lense, whereas the Oakley is more of a coating sprayed on the lense. Is a Smith lense less of a risk? The Oakley system seems to be similar to a gel I would use when scuba diving. Thanks for your feedback.
Hey Christian sorry for the delayed response! Both Oakley and Smith embed an anti fog coating in the shield to help battle against fogging. Both are top tier anti fog treatments and you can't go wrong with either choice.
@@sportrxeyewear Is this anti fog coating on these good enough or should I look at something like the Oakley Line miner inferno (or is that total overkill)? How do I clean the INSIDE of my oakley flight deck lens?! I got some hard water spots on the inside and don;t want to remove the antifog coating.....I hear even the cleaner by oakley is not compatible with antifog treated lenses.....HELP
Hey Adam! We just grabbed a goggle from our showroom and tested it with different cleaning methods. We tried using water, rubbing alcohol, and just a micro fiber cloth. The rubbing alcohol and water helped, but they both did damage to the anti fog coatings after it was cleaned off. Even when we just used the micro fiber cloth we still damaged the coatings due to the pressure from wiping off the marks. If we had to recommend anything it would be put a little bit of rubbing alcohol on a soft microfiber cloth and clean off the hard water spots only. Try to minimize how much many time you wipe the inside lens as the coatings can be damaged easily.

Hey Sport RX, I got the Anti-fog cleaner with my inserts do I need to apply it before the first time I ski with them or is that something I can apply later when they actually start to fog? In this video they said how the inserts themselves already have fog proof material on them.
That is a great question! It is recommended that you use the anti-fog revitalizer/cleaner before your first use and regularly after. The anti-fog coating absorbs moisture like a sponge, but - like a sponge - needs to be 'wrung out' so it can absorb more. In the event that a standard lens cleaner is used, the coating will absorb the water from it.
