Feathers McGraw.... I'm all fucking for it. First character to ever return in a W&G short/film.
Shaun reappeared in a Cracking Contraptions short if that counts.
Feathers also returned in the Project Zoo video game, while Wendolene and Preston reappeared in some of the graphic novels.

I mean technically Wallace and Gromit are characters that have returned in all the films, lol.
Apparently there's a lot of guest voices with this film, including Peter Kay from Curse of the Wererabbit, so we might have a few more character returns on our hands.
Wallace & Gromit is just pure Art. Loved watching it as a kid.

Yeah, the series went on hiatus after Peter Sallis retired (last project he done was World of Invention in 2010), they weren't sure they could replace him. Guess they are finally satisfied with Ben Whitehead's Wallace at this point.
Always knew Feathers would return, even as a kid. I imagined it so many times!

I’m honestly so excited for this new Wallace & Gromit short, I’ve grown up with all 4 original shorts and Curse of the Were-rabbit on DVD and VHS (despite growing up in the early 2010’s) and now getting full confirmation on the new film is really getting me excited! It is a shame that it got leaked since it does ruin the fun and speculation of being excited for this, but either way I’m really excited! Also, I know I haven’t commented a lot on your most recent videos but I honestly love your videos so much, they’re so nostalgia inducing and most of your interests are ones that really interest me, keep up the great work buddy!

@@SomeBoiOnline Yes. A bit odd... Hopefully it doesn't make any trouble for Aardman. But it is what it is. It's out there now. And I've even noticed Wikipedia articles have already changed. If you check Ben Whitehead's Wikipedia it has Wallace and Gromit: A Vengeance Most Fowl for 2024 with him as Wallace in his Filmography.
Oh, hell yeah. Christmas is the perfect time for Wallace and Gromit. I usually rewatch them at that time anyway.

The smart gnome idea if they use it is funny, because I can imagine feathers fitting the gnome shape with his proportions. Also something with gnomes is something a pensioner like Wallace would do.

Great video as usual! I can't wait for its release! I've been a huge fan of Wallace & Gromit for ages, so it is great to see the pair come back for a new adventure after so long! Yeah, having a returning villain is so unusual for the series (unless you count the video games), so it will be interesting to see what Feathers' new scheme entails. Stop-motion just seems to be such a lost art now, so I always appreciate Aardman's efforts! I assumed that this would have been the typical 30 minute film, so having it be 70 minutes is a welcome surprise, too!

With Feathers returning I wonder if Project Zoo will be referenced or canonised. I highly doubt it as Project Zoo and the Telltale games seem to sit in their own separate universes but it would be really cool if they did.
Heck, imagine if the film was just a straight pastiche of Project Zoo. I think the nostalgia centres of my brain would just explode xD
God I love project zoo, there was always one bit with pressure pads I never got past as a kid, so I just played the start over and over again 😂
@@acanimations1223 I got stuck near the end of the Volcano level because I couldn't figure out how to switch to first-person mode to hit the targets to cross the lava river.
Thankfully, due to the modern ability to Google things, I have since completed the game xD
I wish Aardman would stop revealing their returning villains before the film comes out.

Just seen the teaser Aardman offically released. Brought up more questions for me.
i don’t know how many people know this but there is a billboard in “a close shave” that references “baker bob” who is the baker who gets murdered at the beginning of “a matter of loaf and death”. i thought that was a cool little thing.

A part of me is sad that Peter Sallis will not voice Wallace in Feathers McGraw’s return; but, at least we have “Project Zoo” as the next-best thing!

This might be the frontrunner for best animated feature this year since the Oscars loves w&g and they even awarded the wrong trousers
On the one hand a new Wallace and Grmiit film sounds awesome, on the other, the combination of Feather McGraw and Smart Gnone robots sounds a bit like a rehash of the Wrong Trousers. I hope they do a good job differentiating it.
That was my issue with Matter of Loaf and Death, it felt like a rehash of several elements from the previous works, most particularly the villain targeting Wallace and trying to get Gromit out of the way so he can't interfere.
I'd truthfully love another plot like A Grand Day Out where there isn't really a proper antagonist and it's just a misadventure with the two and another scheme by Wallace. Cracking Contraptions is the nearest we have to that.
Apparently, the Smart Gnomes were an original idea that Nick Park had prior to Feathers being part of the story, so you'd hope they'd be original in their own right.
What is funnier? A gnome based premise after the Simpsons parody of W&C from 2011 had one, or Sir Lenny Henry having a role after his infamous creepypasta parody of The Wrong Trousers in 1995…

'New Clay'. I thought, "what, the plasticine brand?" Newclay Products was a UK company that made stuff like Newclay, an air-hardening clay; Newplast, their version of plasticene; and Uro, an oven hardening polymer clay that I was fond of, until the owners retired last year. 😢 I also wasn't sure if their stuff was extensively used in big professional animation projects like wot Aardman does.
But true enough, I looked up the name again, and one of the first results is a news story about how Aardman bought up their remaining stock, before they shut up shop.

Wonderful we're getting a new W+G film, with a big returnee at that. The first proper 'sequel' film.
Rather skeptical that it's 70 mins rather than the usual half hour format though. That's only a little shorter than the theatrical movie, which usually have a much longer production time, and I heard Park was kinda exhausted from doing a feature length W+G. Unless Netflix really pushed for a longer format.

In the morning I was thinking about Aardman making a new movie and then this happens, (granted I was imagining The Pirates In An Adventure With Ninjas but it's the same company so it's close enough right?)

A shame it's been leaked, but i was wondering what was going on since they haven't announced anything. I just hope the Feathers reveal isn't a huge spoiler and they were saving it as a twist for the film. it could explain why they pulled the plug on the title reveal, i hope i'm wrong! But apart from that, this is really exciting. I'm shocked it's another feature length seeing as it's going straight to the BBC. But i think this is gonna be more of a feature length episode as opposed to a big budget feature length movie, which i honestly think is the best way to do a long W&G story. No huge cast, a few characters but with lots of suspense. I'm really hopeful

Wallace and Gromit with a gnome being sabotaged by a bird is not unprecedented. As Lenny Henry is involved (referencing the infamous live action W+G), is it possible that they are also referencing Willis and Crumble?

With "Wallace & Gromit" making their first comeback in over 15 years, there is just one question that's on everyone's minds. Who will be the literal new voice of Wallace? For those of you who don't already, Peter Sallis, the English actor who has been playing the voice of Wallace, since the clay-mated duo made the big debut in "A Grand Day Out" which premiered on December 24 1989, had tragically passed away, just seven years ago. So far, there's been confirmation on who will be replacing Mr. Sallis as Wallace.
Ben Whitehead has been voicing Wallace since the passing of Sallis. It was officially announced he'd be starring in the film last year.
This whole Netflix thing has got me on edge a little, I won't lie...
I hope they don't have anything to do with the actual production.
Seriously hoping this film lives up to the previous films. The last Netflix X Aardman production certainly wasn't a masterpiece.
