I remember using the original Encarta digital encyclopedias before the internet was a big thing and this reminds me so much of that. This is a brilliant idea for a distro for the demographic where internet access may be poor. My only concerns would be the hardware requirements & possibly the battery life being that Linux isn't known for that p[articular optimisation, and if it comes with complete encyclopedias in other languages other than English.
I remember buying a cheap Acer laptop back in 2018 and it was preinstalled with Endless OS. That was the first time I've heard such a Linux Distro. I only used it for writing, but I really love it. Thanks for letting me feel nostalgia.
This is probably the most useful flavor of Linux for Kids that I've ever seen. It's literally like a School and what's even better is that it doesn't need to search for the content online. I believe children in very rural areas without Internet access would benefit the most from this OS. Plus, it's interface is so clear and easy to find the information you need. As an IT professional, I would love to setup a laptop computer with this OS for a child in an area with few educational resources.
Great to see what you look like. I'm going to change my back up OS from SolydK to this because I prefer an OS with all the software without having to search and install them. Awesome job. Thank you.
As a 35yo with Master's Degree I think there's a lot to be learned from here I wouldn't title such amazing OS as "for kids" that may turn off a lot of Adults that Needs this OS in their life
hey linux tex I've been watching you for quite a long time now. can you make a video on how you edit on linux as that's a major problem i always face while daily driving linux.
Why does it look like it could run on a tablet? It literally looks like the OS was made for tablets. I like the idea, but I'm confused about the GUI choice for a desktop OS. Does anyone else think the os looks like a mobile OS?
If they really wanted to reach people like the next billion or so thats intermittently online the device would have to be the smart phone, maybe android. MOOC is available for the mobile android that is the device that reaches the ends of the earth not the laptop. A system on top of android using expansion sd cards would be the device that reaches their target demographics that needs this kind of system the most and not this one...Android in the developing world can be acquired for around USD 50-60 maybe the better ones at USD 80 new, pre owned or with subsidy and maybe cheap accessories would be able to reach more with those with restricted funds and internet access.
Pointless Review! Every distro you review is allegedly ‘amazing’ which renders reviews as pointless. The licence restrictions are the against the spirit of Linux. Big NO from me.
You have become my fav Linux reviewer.. awesome job bro. That been said I have an 8 yr girl . This is going on her laptop ASAP
Thank you so much Vlad. Definitely go for it, Endless will be a great computing system for your kid.

I thought the same with Encarta, its seems so familiar.

i use the basic version as my daily driver and it is awesome! And i have used Arch, Ubuntu, Solus and even Mandriva, but it outshines them all....
Glad to hear that 👍

@@LinuxTex Thanks
I wish your journey with us would be ENDLESS
hey linux tex
I've been watching you for quite a long time now. can you make a video on how you edit on linux as that's a major problem i always face while daily driving linux.
Definitely brother. Try OpenShot and Kdenlive. I use the latter for these videos. For even advanced stuff there is DaVinci Resolve.
@@LinuxTex i know there IS stuff but I'm asking like a video of YOUR editing process pleaseee
Awesome video, thanks! It'd be nice to have this in a dragonized version like Garuda :} it's my favorite linux aesthetic/environment.
And what about RAM usage??? How is it
This would be excelled for use on a space station, submarine, or some other remote area,
Nice content as always 🥰
Thank you Hiran
This is great! Now I would try to include an AI tutor
What about Puppy Linux. What it lacks in looks, it makes up for in speed, and frugal mode will allow it to run the OS in ram.
How does it work without reliable access to electricity?
wow cant wait to try this lern with out web strange but cool at the same time.
Definitely give it a try

Yes, they said in their official website, endless were designed similar to mobile experience (cause they think it's easy to use for casual people)
Thank You.
Face reveal?
Hello there

The app store is a mess...
why do all linux have to use the same crap desktop these days. if it wasn't for that i'd give it a try
😮
