I experienced this with ACOTAR as well, after reading it the first time I think I blacked out and gave it 5 stars but after re-reading it’s not even SJM’s best let alone the best romantasy 💀
@@SaraisinbooklandI would be very glad if you helped me. I want to read a novel or story that has suspense, romance, and mystery. The female lead is very insecure but loves the main lead and vice versa. The second lead also loves her so much selflessly and secretly but she never notices his love.
The first thing that came to my mind would be the Stalking Jack the ripper series by kerri maniscalco. It's ya mystery plus a little bit of romance (it focuses more on the mystery though) the female main character is very sure of herself so that's a little different than what you wanted, but she hasn't ever been in any sort of romantic relationship (it's historic times so that's the main reason) she studies anatomy (I think), which isn't normal for a woman to do in that time. The male love interest is a very sarcastic man and I absolutely love him lol. This is the closest thing I could think of that I've read! Not exactly the same but hope it sounds good :))
