Downwind Run from French Is Ruins to Warneet

I left Warneet (Vic) on an ebbing tide but paddling against a 20+km wind heading for Fairhaven Camp down the west coast of French Island some 14kms away. Arrived after a bit of a slog against the wind and short steep wind chop after about 2.5hrs. Enjoyed lunch off the beach in the empty little campground behind foreshore bushland then headed back to Warneet on the cusp of the tide turning. With the wind behind and the tide slowly coming into effect the 14kms passed by in about 1 1/4 hours Great fun was had catching the waves made all the easier with 20-30kph wind being caught by the Footloose 80 sail (Flat Earth Kayak Sails).
