    If I was at the therapy session, I would keep my feelings MYSELF because I damn know I'm getting recorded

  • @bluesidecollection

    Missy let her own feelings get in the way. She was with the girls the most out of all the executives, so she should have been there for all the eliminations. Yeah, it is hard to see them eliminated, but leaving them to find out by themselves had to be so isolating to the girls who were close to her.

    I’m convinced that bang pd hates women. I hope all the ladies on the show have recovered from this miserable experience and are happy and healthy!

    I need to know if they knew they were being recorded because I assume they had to know, but that means the docu was kinda heavily manipulated and that means they purposely wanted the girls on camera talking bad about manon which is a whole other situation 😭

      from what they said about the elimination from mission 2, they knew that they were being recorded, but were told that it wouldn’t be shown to anyone, so i assume that it happened more than once. it’s so messed up to do that once, but if they did it multiple times and then showed it to the public that’s even more messed up. mitra admitted on the documentary to basically provoking the girls for ratings

      @@duckypato oh I see, yeah they literally lied to them multiple times for views 😭 That's absolutely wild, they used the girls emotions for money and attention. That's why the "girlhood" marketing for the dream academy show felt so icky, they used their girlhoods without getting permission.

    1:01:19 she’s chatting abt nationality, it wasn’t abt race, “Slovak” is what people from Slovakia are called 😭

  • @pikachuu8060
    @pikachuu8060 День тому +6

    1:01:03 I feel like what Adéla said made more sense in the context that she was actually directly responding to one of the other American contestants *that themselves* vented about being at a disadvantage for being American. Not saying that it justifies the generalization, but tbf, being multicultural is an advantage in a show with such a big focus on nationality and countries. So it make sense that Lara and Megan weren't at a disadvantage for being American, while at the same time there were never any denying that they are indeed Americans.
    I also don't think Adéla brought up race at all. She talked about nationality. And about Slovakia in particular (not Russia or "slavic representation"). And I can't really say it's a stretch to claim that there is no Slovak representation, because I can't think of a single artist from Slovakia, let alone someone mainstream. It also seems like many of the contestants aren't really thinking in the context of kpop, but whether she meant representation inside kpop or in western media, it doesn't really make a significant difference.
    (Tbf Slovak and Slavic are similiar words, which may have caused misunderstandings.)

    Honestly I think this show is probably a look into how kpop works in general. Especially, how they didn’t have a concrete time line even though they had a lot if money on the line and were basically leading the girls on and not telling them it was going to be a reality show. In general I’m soooo tired of hybe and kpop companies in general. At this point I’m not sure there’s even a single good, aka not corrupt and treats their artists correctly all the time, kpop company out there (honestly western labels as well)

    Welcome back! So glad to see another upload from you!
    Writing this before watching:
    I haven’t seen this show, but everything I’ve heard about it has been so negative😭. I don’t even understand why they released this?? what’s up with everyone wanting to do documentaries? Especially when it makes so many ppl look bad? With everything I’ve heard, I hope all the members who participated in the program are doing good now 🤦🏽‍♀️. Seems like a miserable time.

    the whole concept of this doc was so wild and it feels so unprofessional like 😭
    I agree with everything you said throughout the video, like bang pd is a dumb mf and this is just one of many examples from this yr alone. the lack of planning and empathy that these execs had towards these girls, especially considering that a big chunk were MINORS, is heartbreaking honestly, and I really hope they're healing from this because if someone tried to pit me against my friends and create this stressful environment (especially since I don't do well with "spontaneous" things), i would hunt them down (that's a joke, yt don't take this comment down!)
    amazing vid as always!! glad you're back

    Also in the documentary I genuinely couldn't tell if Manon was just confused about the training or not. Because of how she was scouted, and the way she said she didn't know it was that serious, I'm so curious about what they told her she was going to be doing. I think she thought "They are training me to dance and sing and perform so I can be a future gg, but it's not urgent, it's a process" but obviously that wasn't the situation. It seemed like a weird misunderstanding,
    I also don't understand why they didn't do more to make her go to training, like Missy probably could've sat down with her and said "we gonna stop training you if you don't get into those practice rooms on time because this is serious and we are moving very quickly." Like Manon genuinely seemed like she didn't understand the situation of the fast paced, serious training, and I have to wonder why they were on two different pages. And were they contractually obligated to do the training? Like what were the contracts looking like, because Manon obviously didn't go to a lot of training and she didn't receive any punishment it seemed.
    Just something I wish they talked about a little in the docu because I never understood how it was such a big deal to everyone but they never seemed to fix it until way later.

    Sorry, I keep commenting lol I'm glad you clicked the subtle weird lowkey racism towards Naisha. When they say her rapping and dancing and they said like "masculine vibes" and were describing her like that, I was cringing. Like the tone deafness was wild. Calling the only black girl aggressive, masculine, and "too much" right off the bat almost was weird and dare I say gross. On top of that, Naisha has more traditional black features, so compared to Manon who has "softer" features and how the execs treated her felt weird. Manon also got her share of racism with how literally everyone was so comfortable talking bad about her online and labeling her all kinds of things, and the Samara stans continue to be brutally racist to Manon. But Naisha definitely received some racist comments in the show, and I can't believe they actually left in the documentary and didn't notice how it sounded.

    i just wanted to make a itty bitty correction. manon did have to audition. the girls talked about it in a radio interview, but girls like manon and lara who were contacted were still required to go through the audition process in order to join training. now i’m not claiming that their auditions were held to the same standards as everyone, but they have clarified that misconception.

    Can someone tell me what the Slovak girl meant about the American girls are getting the “Slovak treatment” like I genuinely didn’t understand what she meant.

    • @bunnie6994
      @bunnie6994 2 дні тому +13

      basically the american girls were disheartened because a lot of the other girls were getting votes solely for being from the countries they’re from, since they’re underrepresented, but the american girls weren’t getting that same kind of support for being from the US. so adela (the slovak girl) was saying now they know how she feels, since slovaks aren’t represented as much. (not saying i directly agree with one side or the other, just explaining🙏)

    I don't think saying social following played a factor is correct. Both Samara and Nayoung had little social following yet they were always top 3 and would have made it to the group were it not for the unfortunate situations. Megan, Yoonchae no social following. Apart from Yoonchae and Manon, the other members got in based on their skills, not because they had a big social following
