The thing is dream academy is one of the very few survival show where most of the trainees are heavily talented , kinda like MTG , so the finalists are all super talented , it's kinda hard to pick a bias in such groups .

They didn't debut yet. So they were on a survival show called Dream Academy and although there's not much behind the scenes content of that show (mostly performances, eliminations and judges feedback), rumors say that there will be a documentary surrounding them. i want to highlight that lara has been trained in indian classical music (carnatic music) which focuses heavily on vocal runs and riffs hence her head voice and whistle tone is so well developed because these are a fundamental part of carnatic music (listen to lata mangeshkar songs for reference like lag jaa gale). lara my desi queen love her so much 😍 I'll be very honest kpop vocal training holds no fight in front of indian vocal training. indians have the best singers in the world. it was high time that the kpop world saw the gem that is indian vocals.
Also, as a South Asian, I think black soul music should also be recognised too. The vocals are STUNNING. I recommend checking a group called 'Blaque'. They're actually a black girl group that focuses on R&B in the 1990s but their vocals are STRONG.

Personally, this group feels really promising. Everyone has good vocals, raps, dance, stage presence... I haven't been this excited for a group debut for a long time. Cant wait to see where these girls go, they have a bright future in my opinion. And their interactions so far are really adorable ^^ Either way, Im firmly OT6 with my biases being Sophia (alongside Lara and Daniela), and Megan/Manon/Yoonchae being my bias wreckers but Im curious if that will change with their debut, this is based on how much I liked their performances in Dream Academy.
Hybe doesn't do much of rapping in their songs, especially with the gg and since they are a pop group, that will mainly promote in the west, I don't think there will be any rapping

I love how Dream Academy really focused on global diversity, visually speaking. You can tell because none of the POC girls are pale as snow and the melanin still shines from the darker skinned girlies and i love that!! They're all also really talented!

Being an Indian I’m so proud of Lara as she’s getting a lot of recognition, usually us Indians are not rlly popular in the western media so it’s a huge step up for us (I LUV ALL OF THEM THEY SOO TALENTED PERIOD I HOPE THEY GO ON FOR MANY YEARS AND GET THE RECOGNITION THEY DESERVE)

I think people are overestimating the popularity/influence of stage actors, especially ones who weren't original cast or part of a popular revival. Hamilton is probably ten times more mainstream than Miss Saigon, and yet I doubt non-theater fans could name any Hamilton actor other than LMM. Also, no one's hiring Kpop idols just because they know Lea Salonga lolol. Instead, her coming from a rich, performing arts family put her at an advantage. The same way Dani having ballroom dancer parents and Lara having a sister who's a recording artist were also at an advantage- they (and their parents) know how to navigate that world. Even then, those 3 got into the group by fan votes and quite frankly, most of us probably dgaf about their parents/siblings (sorry). I'd even guess that most of the girls (and even most of the other trainees) came from affluent (and/artistic) families. It's really hard to be a trainee if you and your family are poor. My girls from day one were always Lara, Manon and Daniela. They were the eye-candies on the show to me 🤩. I rooted for Lara because of her stage presence 😘. Manon because of her beautiful lower registers and vocals 🥰 and Daniela because of her dance ☺️. I was the happiest when their names were called at the finale. Let's support Katseye (Lara, Manon, Daniela, Sophia, Yoonchae, Megan) forever 🙌.
I’m happy for yoonchae, her confidence has improved. Many people say she shouldn’t be in a global group and she would be more suited in a kpop group, but i think it fits her! She’s born for it, i’m proud of my girl!
Sophia is my ultimate Bias aside from talent, I really like her personality hahahha. Megan and Yoonchae are my bias wrecker. But overall I like the group because they are all talented.
I agree. For a performer, pianist and songwriter who never danced her entire life, synchronization must be her strongest point in dance. She synchronizes so well with the group and we saw this in their Break Free performance, Dirty water, All the same and Fearless performance. What makes her stand out however is her lack of energy. She synchronizes so well with the other girls but still stands out due to her lack of energy during Performances. It's almost as if she's slow dancing but still keeping up with the others in terms of synchronization and precision (steps and movements). That's how I see it whenever I watch her dance. If she could add a bit of energy to her dance, she'll be super good. Her dance style is more suited for ballet where they dance with less energy but with more precision in their movements. Girls like Daniela and Megan for instance have more energy in their movements than the rest since they have more experience in ballroom dance (requires energy) and street-dance (also requires energy) so the energy is already there. Manon probably needs to switch up her dance style and technique from ballet-style to something close to the hip-hop/pop kind of street-dance for that same energy to be there, I think. Her synchronization is already great 👍🏼.
What’s the point of being fast learner when other top 10 contestants already were better then her and Megan like Emily ezrela who didn’t get into the group such a disaster and fraud these shows are

How many times did you hear both girls sing the way Manon did in Buttons? We used to praise Manon for her vocals, Emily for her dance and Ezrela for always capturing the cute concept in every performance. Wasn't she in Mission 2 (Fearless) with Daniela, Ua and Manon? And who were the members that stood out in that mission? It was Daniela and Manon. They were also the top 2 fan voted girls in their group with Daniela being No.1 when the results came out on UA-cam. Manon captured more viewers attention for sounding similar to Chaewon/Sakura in that performance, whilst Daniela captured everyone's attention for her overall performance. Ezrela and Ua weren't talked about that much. Do you remember anything relevant that was said by viewers about Ezrela in that performance?? We saw Ezrela really shine and become a household name in Mission 3 instead (Wannabe). She was in the same group with Samara, Ua and Emily and their concept was on the Cute bubbly spectrum. What fans took after that performance was that she can rightfully only slay one concept. The Cute concept, and as such, was not versatile. She caught viewers attention with her performance in OMG (Cute Y2K concept) but couldn't gain the same attention after her performance in Fearless (strong concept). Then regained that attention in her Wannabe performance after being added to a group that was performing on the Cute concept. Have you ever wondered why she wasn't added to the girls who performed Buttons (Mature concept) despite being 20 on the show?

I cant wait for katseye. Im hoping they do something like buttons but they do have a young person in the group I believe so it may not be possible. But they are a group of girls that all give off their own strong aura. When they debut, if they learn how to put this aura together and radiate it, they may actually make it far, especially in the USA. My favs are definitely sophia, lara and manon. For me they radiate so much confidence and I love that

KATSEYE I think is overall more talented than Vcha, but I definitely have more of an attachment to VCHA for their members rather than their talents, since we've gotten a lot more personality and interactions on A2K then onto Dream Academy (excluding the introduction videos).
VCHA's choreo is SO intense, too intense. I guess it looks impressive but like, the extreme movement that the choreographers set for the girls is gonna make vocals a challenge to sound perfect live, so I assume a lotta backtrack will be used on stage. although nothing some training can't do. That being said, I still think KATSEYE will be better, vocally (no hate) choreo may be more tame, considering the performances in Dream Academy, which were definitely less intense. But who knows? We'll know after they debut.

I recently watched the Netflix show,I'm not really into kpop but lara was absolutely of star quality. She has such a nice fierce look and insane vocals.

Comparing Dream Academy to Universe Ticket, Dream Academy trainees are very talented and heavily stacked. thats why the Competition is very tough and fierce. Universe ticket ahm its ok. I like the PRISM illustration to debut a trainee. its very creative!🙂

Yeeeeees, Lara is my bias and I knew she was the best one! Although, Sophie’s work ethic is insane. If I’m ever feeling lazy I remind myself of her Buttons performance.
Based on the very first ranking with Manon being 6th, I immediately liked the video. I was seriously and severely underwhelmed with Manon's performance throughout the entire Dream Academy show. It is nothing personal, had nothing to do with her missing rehearsals due to being sick, or with her seemingly having a lack of motivation compared to the other girls. ALL THAT ASIDE I personally never cared for any of her performances. Her singing and performance skills were super basic. Her dancing never stood out. She just seemed very average compared to everyone else. I truly never understood why she kept getting high rankings. I never felt she deserved it. So I truly appreciate seeing her 6th on your list.
Manon biggest quality is owning up her shortcomings and put in effort to be better. Not my bias at all (I find Lara to be the one with star quality and lethal visual) but I really appreciate that from manon
Manon has an RnB feel that none of the other girls have. She was by far the only good singer in Buttons. Hope she gets to shine because she can bring it too.
I am so so so so so proud of Lara. As a desi person she seriously has made us all proud like I feel like giving her a pat on the back and telling her well done queen . She is just so talented . This is the result when parents actually allow their kids to pursue and do what they like and normally desi parents are so against it but I am so happy that Lara's mumma and papa allowed her to pursue her talent making her shine so brightly. She seriously has such strong star quality like all the other girls are also amazinggggg like I love all of them and Megan is my bias but like Lara's start quality and aura is just wow. As an Indian, she is someone who brings so much hope to other brown people to pursue their dreams. She is someone who inspires a lot of people including me. It was disappointing but it was a miscommunication during the interview when she said she wanted to go solo I think they misunderstood because in the West usually whenever a group member goes solo the group doesn't last too long after that. But that is not the case in k-pop they can be successful soloists as well as be a part of a group
Yoonchae is overall better. Nayoung could have better vocals but she is such an awkward dancer. Meanwhile, Yoonchae is a great vocalist and dancer which go better with the team as they are all good dancers.
I was bit worried with everything great (vocals, visuals, dance, performance, even production) they would lack on the personality side. Already familiar with how likeable and a leader Sophia is, but everyone of them are hilarious and adorable too (like Little Mix members). Waiting to see more Weverse content from Megan, especially to see her 1-1 dynamic with the other girls.
IMO, Katseye is a group of extremely talented, hard working and dedicated young women. However, they have been given thus far boring uninspiring sub-par songs. Looking at the UA-cam views for their music videos, I am not alone in that opinion. I hope they get the hit songs they richly deserve.
My favourites in the show were Sophia, Lara and Megan (they got loads of screen time though), my favourites since debuting are Yoonchae, Lara and Daniela
It's crazy how ya'll say manon is the least talented out of all her bandmates when infact she has the most potential to be a big star... this is why hybe kept her when every1 else wanted her gone.. they saw it, and the audience saw it too.. she reminds me of a young rihanna. I’m happy for yoonchae, her confidence has improved. Many people say she shouldn’t be in a global group and she would be more suited in a kpop group, but i think it fits her! She’s born for it, i’m proud of my girl!
Sophia is my ultimate Bias aside from talent, I really like her personality hahahha. Megan and Yoonchae are my bias wrecker. But overall I like the group because they are all talented.

Manon proved to be a fast learner and among th girls her singing techniques are ranked third of the group she never got the time to shine in that show
I agree. For a performer, pianist and songwriter who never danced her entire life, synchronization must be her strongest point in dance. She synchronizes so well with the group and we saw this in their Break Free performance, Dirty water, All the same and Fearless performance. What makes her stand out however is her lack of energy. She synchronizes so well with the other girls but still stands out due to her lack of energy during Performances. It's almost as if she's slow dancing but still keeping up with the others in terms of synchronization and precision (steps and movements). That's how I see it whenever I watch her dance. If she could add a bit of energy to her dance, she'll be super good. Her dance style is more suited for ballet where they dance with less energy but with more precision in their movements.
Girls like Daniela and Megan for instance have more energy in their movements than the rest since they have more experience in ballroom dance (requires energy) and street-dance (also requires energy) so the energy is already there. Manon probably needs to switch up her dance style and technique from ballet-style to something close to the hip-hop/pop kind of street-dance for that same energy to be there, I think. Her synchronization is already great 👍🏼.

@@aradhyajain9783 If I remember clearly, what Manon had in vocals was what Ezrela and Emily lacked. Whereas what she lacked in dance was what Emily and Ezrela had.
How many times did you hear both girls sing the way Manon did in Buttons? We used to praise Manon for her vocals, Emily for her dance and Ezrela for always capturing the cute concept in every performance. Wasn't she in Mission 2 (Fearless) with Daniela, Ua and Manon? And who were the members that stood out in that mission? It was Daniela and Manon. They were also the top 2 fan voted girls in their group with Daniela being No.1 when the results came out on UA-cam. Manon captured more viewers attention for sounding similar to Chaewon/Sakura in that performance, whilst Daniela captured everyone's attention for her overall performance. Ezrela and Ua weren't talked about that much. Do you remember anything relevant that was said by viewers about Ezrela in that performance??
We saw Ezrela really shine and become a household name in Mission 3 instead (Wannabe). She was in the same group with Samara, Ua and Emily and their concept was on the Cute bubbly spectrum. What fans took after that performance was that she can rightfully only slay one concept. The Cute concept, and as such, was not versatile. She caught viewers attention with her performance in OMG (Cute Y2K concept) but couldn't gain the same attention after her performance in Fearless (strong concept). Then regained that attention in her Wannabe performance after being added to a group that was performing on the Cute concept. Have you ever wondered why she wasn't added to the girls who performed Buttons (Mature concept) despite being 20 on the show?

I cant wait for katseye. Im hoping they do something like buttons but they do have a young person in the group I believe so it may not be possible. But they are a group of girls that all give off their own strong aura. When they debut, if they learn how to put this aura together and radiate it, they may actually make it far, especially in the USA.

KATSEYE I think is overall more talented than Vcha, but I definitely have more of an attachment to VCHA for their members rather than their talents, since we've gotten a lot more personality and interactions on A2K then onto Dream Academy (excluding the introduction videos).
VCHA's choreo is SO intense, too intense. I guess it looks impressive but like, the extreme movement that the choreographers set for the girls is gonna make vocals a challenge to sound perfect live, so I assume a lotta backtrack will be used on stage. although nothing some training can't do. That being said, I still think KATSEYE will be better, vocally (no hate) choreo may be more tame, considering the performances in Dream Academy, which were definitely less intense. But who knows? We'll know after they debut.
And? If they cant sing with that choreo then why have it in the first place

Yeeeeees, Lara is my bias and I knew she was the best one! Although, Sophie’s work ethic is insane. If I’m ever feeling lazy I remind myself of her Buttons performance.
Based on the very first ranking with Manon being 6th, I immediately liked the video. I was seriously and severely underwhelmed with Manon's performance throughout the entire Dream Academy show. It is nothing personal, had nothing to do with her missing rehearsals due to being sick, or with her seemingly having a lack of motivation compared to the other girls. ALL THAT ASIDE I personally never cared for any of her performances. Her singing and performance skills were super basic. Her dancing never stood out. She just seemed very average compared to everyone else. I truly never understood why she kept getting high rankings. I never felt she deserved it. So I truly appreciate seeing her 6th on your list.
Manon biggest quality is owning up her shortcomings and put in effort to be better.

yoonchae only made it in bc nayoung dropped out. i have no idea what made her choose to leave. she was way more talented too so it's a shame.
It was disappointing but it was a miscommunication during the interview when she said she wanted to go solo I think they misunderstood because in the West usually whenever a group member goes solo the group doesn't last too long after that.
But that is not the case in k-pop they can be successful soloists as well as be a part of a group
Yoonchae is overall better. Nayoung could have better vocals but she is such an awkward dancer. Meanwhile, Yoonchae is a great vocalist and dancer which go better with the team as they are all good dancers.

Manon is actually a model which makes since for the group she fits Korean standards of beauty so dancing and singing is a huge plus.
I was bit worried with everything great (vocals, visuals, dance, performance, even production) they would lack on the personality side. Already familiar with how likeable and a leader Sophia is, but everyone of them are hilarious and adorable too (like Little Mix members). Waiting to see more Weverse content from Megan, especially to see her 1-1 dynamic with the other girls.
IMO, Katseye is a group of extremely talented, hard working and dedicated young women. However, they have been given thus far boring uninspiring sub-par songs. Looking at the UA-cam views for their music videos, I am not alone in that opinion. I hope they get the hit songs they richly deserve.
