  • Holy SMOKES!!
That was a bit on the wild side! Keeping five combines in constant motion and unloaded in 125 bushel wheat was an experience this ‘ole Wheatie has never experienced!!!
The constant chatter on the two-way radio was quite intense for a while.
    Wow!
Things calmed down just before supper.
No rain shower, although it was predicted.
The smoke from wildfires created an amazing sunset.
Thanks for adding to the story with your pictures, Whitney!!
All drone footage kudos go to Katy (Brett’s sister). Thanks, Katie!!!!

Attach a 3-4 foot piece of log chain to the frame of the combine and let it drag on the ground. It will get rid of the static electricity and allow the dust to fall off the windows and the machine

Having run a combine as a youth for 6 summers, I feel there is nothing more “beautiful “ than a cut wheat field. At the family I worked for, the best dry land yield was about 70 bushels/acre. 100-150 is insane. Happy for the farmer.

What a magnificent wheat yield. As of 2020 I'm been a retired farmer here in Australia and in my time farming we grew some top crops of wheat when the weather would cooperate but even so, and I'll admit it, I don't think we ever had dryland wheat yield quite as good as that...close, but not quite as good as that. Congratulations to the farmers who planted it. Wonderful to watch. Excellent footage Tracy.

@@ZeorianHarvestingTruckingI hope you do both get to visit and harvest in Australia 🇦🇺 Tracy. I remember watching a show from America on television here back in the mid seventies. I think it was was called "The Yellow Trail From Texas" and it was about a harvesting crew with MF 750s and 760s harvesting from Texas and then all the way to the northern states as the wheat ripened. I would have loved to have done some harvesting over in the USA back then but our on our 1243 acre mixed farming operation we ran a dairy herd, beef cattle, a piggery, a hay operation, irrigation and of course, grain growing. I simply never had the time. Now that I'm retired I have the time but not the good health needed to do a season's harvest. So if you and Jim are able to come to Australia do it before it's too late as it is in my case. Good luck.

A clean garden is a sign of a good gardener. Same goes with the clean fields. However, sometimes Mother Nature plays a cruel joke and no matter how good of a farmer you are, the weeds are gonna come. Much like we’ve seen this summer in the southern states.

    • @ZeorianHarvestingTrucking
      @ZeorianHarvestingTrucking  Рік тому +2

Sorta a long story. But will try to keep it short.
My grandpa started taking his custom cutting business over the road in 1950. Until then, he did it locally (Kansas).
Gpa and Gma asked me to go along with them in 1974 (I was 12). Gpa taught me to drive combine. I was hooked.
Jim was a hired man for my grandparents. We married in 1982 with no intentions of being custom cutters. We bought our first combine fall of 1982 - a 1979 MF 760. Jim went with my parents and grandparents without me until 1990. That’s when we decided to go on our own - because my dad and grandpa had decided to hang it up. It was tough in the early to mid 80’s.
We took off the summer of 1990 with our equipment and two little girls. We added to the family in 1994 and 1997. The rest is history. So the lifestyle runs deep in my veins.
This is the list of combines we owned throughout the years.
      Combines owned

@@doyler7960 - we sold our combine. We are working for these farmers driving their green combines. We are no longer on the road with equipment.

We owned a NH combine until this spring. Jim opted to sell our equipment rather than making a trade. Therefore, our days on the road with the custom harvest is over. We were contacted by this farm about running combines for them. They own the equipment.
