  • The Axial Yeti 1/10th scale is one of the most versatile platforms on the market in Remote Control. It's a "do anything" type rig and the amount of upgrade/modification parts are endless. In the 2.0 series, I will be taking you on an adventure to see how we can improve the performance/durability even more and change up the looks of the Yeti. I call mine the "Not so RTR" because, it did start out as the RTR Yeti, but it is far from that these days!
    Want to see the original "Not so RTR" 1.0 running video?
    • Axial Yeti "Not so RTR...
    The Axial Yeti 2.0 really turned out great! I have beefed up several areas that had become red flags since running it and the looks have dramatically changed, which shows you how well the Yeti can transform almost overnight!
    Please check out the entire series!

    That's a good looking truck! Like the body but I would like to see moor of the rollcage, but that's just my taste.

      +My RC Tribe Yeah, I plan to cut out all the windows and a portion of the rear bed area to expose some.....just wanted to get it completed!

    As soon as you get those shocks... lol, always have to wait on parts, that does become annoying especially when it is a long wait, looks great Rich!

      +Anthony Eaglebarger (toysoldier46552) Thanks TS. Yeah, I want a better performing shock in the rear.....probably my most "needed" part right now

      The RCNetwork Proline has some decent shocks for most models, my Redcat Racing Volcano S30 had junk shocks on it along with the rest of the vehicle, I upgraded those and ended up doing the aluminum upgrades (which I am still waiting on, I hate mail order parts), for the knuckles and arms which for the life of me I cannot think of the proper terms, but they are part of the suspension lol. I fly and drive so, it gets hard to remember the names of every single part especially being a diabetic, it messes with the memory badly.

    Many of us are getting into the Yeti late in the game because we're buying used. There are many upgrade videos, but most of the items used are no longer available and it makes the videos almost useless. I wish somebody (hint, hint) would revisit this vehicle and tell us where to get substitute parts that will work. Bodies and panels aren't out there like they used to be. You might also consider that if we're buying used Yeti's, we aren't going to be buying $120 rear ends!! Budget builds would be nice.

      I think in my time, I did 4 fully built Yeti's (First 1.0, this 2.0, KIT version and My U4RC version) and one SCORE trophy truck. One thing you can keep in mind is that anything for the Bomber rear, fits the Yeti rear, and the Exo Terra front, fits the Yeti front (typically). After building my Tekno DB48, I ended up selling my Yeti and Rock Rey - they just needed way too much maintenance and upgrades to be enjoyable and finish races.

    I find that a lot of the videos done were full of expensive freebie parts given to guys to make videos and push parts. How much of what was done was really necessary? Now, a good 1/2 of the parts can’t even be found anymore. Maybe somebody would like to go for the Raptor body, but you can’t even get one of those anymore. On to the next craze.

    well can't wait to see what you will do with this one when you get your hands on it. Seems like there are going to be many compatible aftermarket options all ready available due to the yeti, so will be cool seeing some vanquish, hot racing, tekin, etc added to the new rtr. But really would like to see the difference between your not so rtr yeti and this new yeti truck! Great job as always on your videos too!

    What a sweet sweet Yeti! ! Just ordered mine! Already got a bunch of parts waiting. I just got to know if you have any opinion on what gearing I should use for the Yeti? I plan to do trail runs, hill climbing and mild jumping. Thank you for showing off this pristine machine!

    • @TheRCNetwork

      +Bigdaddyd82 Vapes The stock gearing is pretty decent for that. It's not too fast....

      Right, controllable speed is what I'm after here. I don't want my Yeti to drift off the trail or torque twist itself into a yoga pose. I will hold off on gearing changes for now then.
      Thank you for responding!

    nice video looks amazing as usual. Have you seen the new rtr trophy truck from axial? interested to hear your input and whether you will build up another rtr. I'm curious to see the difference between the yeti and this new truck looks basically like a yeti with a truck body on it.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  9 років тому

      +T Dactyl Yeah, I watched the video first thing this morning when I got the press release. Axial really has stepped up the game. I Spoke to them right before they unveiled the 1/10th Yeti RTR and they were really excitted about the next 18 months and all the vehicles they were going to release. Of course they wouldn't tell me.....but they really did a great job. As for the Score truck.....looking at it in the video, it's def a 1/10th Yeti chassis (from the roll over) probably with modified trailing arms, King licensed shocks (the blue peaked out) a moded cage to fit under the trophy body and the front A Arms seemed to be different. The rear Axle is probably a lengthened design to fit SCT style wheels (with out the long SLW type hub on the Yeti) The bumper is super wide...almost the width of the body

      Do a video if possible on the kyosho tomahawk, that brings me back to being a kid in the 80s when it seemed like every kid on my street either had Tamiya or kyosho and was a constant smack talk which was better. I always had Tamiya, brat, frog, grasshopper and hornet. But always loved that damn tomahawk

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  9 років тому

      +Nick Plays Bo2 The big question is the Axle configuration. The Yeti is solid rear, Front Independent. Wraith uses two solid axles. The Yeti is much better in faster speed situations, where the Wraith will excel in crawling applications. You can get both to do either, but thats what they're best at.
