David McHone I was in the same boat and stalked eBay for months. Happy to report I just found a sealed score kit two weeks ago. Can’t wait to start the build!
What a powerhouse under the hood !! cant wait to see another running vid with the new combo😎😎. great list of mods ! i really appreciate how you put links to products in the description 🖒🖒
Thanks CA - I should have some running footage soon after this race coming up. no problem on the links - always try and complete the video with some good links
I like the new intro. Just wanted to let you know that I painted my first RC body for my Traxxas Slash using the techniques I learned watching your tutorials. Thank you for taking the time to put out great shows. I also really liked the piece you did on the Slash - Sleeper Project. In regard to that project, was it a sensored system you added? Thank you, Ray
Thanks Ray! Glad to help out on painting your first body. The last video in the painting series will be out on Wednesday-ish. As for the Slash project - it comes with a Velineon sensorless system. I added a Tekin Sensored system - sensored systems have better throttle response, especially at low RPM's, are more efficient and end up running a bit cooler. Racers always use sensored systems
Recommend Dlux Fab TI shafts up front. The best in the world. I run a similar setup, tsl xl tires as Hyrax weren't made. That motor is smooth and torquey
Thanks Mike.....Just checked them out. If I have an issue with the Incision versions - I have about 10 heats and 4 races on them, I will pick up a set.
Hey there Rich been a fan for years finally picked up a yeti. The week after they discontinued the kit lol either way.... looking into motor choice and figured I'd follow your set up. I had a quick question about gearing. Do you have any suggestions? I'll be running 2s for now then switching up to 3s with the tekin 3000kv pro4. Also brand of pinion gears? Alot out there any recommendations over others ?
Thanks for being a subscriber! The Yeti is a great RC - but I no longer have it in my collection. The Tekin Pro4HD 3000kv on 3s was ideal though. As for pinion - I totally don't remember. It's nothing crazy - and if I were to guess, it's probably a 14-16t. Brand wise, the Robinson Racing gears are always good - just double check the 5mm shaft size and 32p gearing
@@TheRCNetwork hey thankyou for the content sir, no matter what rc I'm working on I always end up finding answers here lol. I figured it may be gone by now as you made these some time ago but I was curious either way. Seems like I was on the right track at least. Thankyou for the information looking forward to the next video :)
@@TheRCNetwork yeah I don't use dual stage in U4rc. I use closed cell. I guess I'm a special case. My 1.9 trail trx4 can compete and smoke every class! It's crazy high speed.
Hello, love the video, bought a yeti with my son this year, as you mentoined we also experienced a bended axle after a few runs sadly. To solve this which option do you recommend, a SSD rear axle or the standard axial wide axle set with the extra bearings etc. Thanks in advance, Dirk
Good to have you in the hobby! NorCal had Auburn Performance Raceway a while back, but I believe it shut down. I would contact some of the locals up there - Gene Boyd, Mike Cassar, Michael Pham, Dan Wilson, etc They would know right off. Also, Axial Fest will be happening here shortly - they'll have a U4 style race, but it's not like ours....AF's is once you crash, you're out
Thank you for the reply. Yes, best I can tell Auburn Performance Raceway moved and only has a dirt oval now. I'll keep searching the internet and look into some of the names you posted. Thanks again.
I've used the Yeti the whole season...don't really want to switch mid way. U4RC did start up a 2.2" Unlimited Class - mostly for illegal trucks that aren't to scale for the original classes. I'll be running the Rock Rey there to see how it does
Will you do a video of a sensored motor vs non sensored motor? with some side by side comparison video? thinking of switching my yeti to sensored, but it's hard to pull the trigger with those kinds of prices.
Probably cheaper to just get the 2spd and run it with the sensored motor if you already have a spare servo for shifting. That's what I did. Sensored setups (especially since I plunged my MMP into a watery death) are quite expensive
Have you had any issues with torque twisting? I have almost the identical setup to your Yeti but mine is severely suffering from torque twist upon initial acceleration.
from my memory - The main cage from the Yeti, front bumper and front body mounts. Body mounts may be found in our SCORE parts bag. Then, of course wheels/tires and body if you want to run a body.
am I missing something , trying to find the list of parts to make the swap from score to yeti, I know I need cage, front bumper, front body mount? anything else thanks guys
Daniel Jones it was the Stainless Incision versions....I didn't like that I couldn't make adjustments on the fly....you have to remove the link to do that - plus they were bottomed out and I needed a couple more mm for toe
can you link the team associated turnbuckle you are using i am being plagued by pull outs my rig i almost identical to yours when i look up team associated turnbuckles soooo many different sizes i don't know which will fit
Here you go: amzn.to/2eELnTN You'll need standard Revo rod ends to make it work...I've lasted 4 races (4 mains and 12 heats) with this set up. Also, you'll need to cut away the top plate for clearance...I just used an Xacto knife
Timothée Liens never is a tough word.....I never thought I would have a Yeti again, either.....but with that said - RCing is a hobby for me too! I have to follow my passion or this channel will end up like many others....extinct.
If I buy a Axial Yeti in 2024 do they have aftermarket parts available still I know it's the one of the best rock races... And he won't have 2 speed transmission... Which is really good in racing even losi Don't have it....
With today's brushless systems, 2 speed is really not needed in faster RC's. As for parts - you should still be able to find parts - remember the front end is Yeti and the rear end is Wraith/Bomber. As for rack racers, the Losi Rock Rey might slightly edge out the Yeti in some situations and the Losi Lasernut would be the only FIS suspension rig on the market. The Lasernut would be much easier to drive and be easier on the drivetrain (not having a solid rear axle)
Awesome video very nice Yeti and upgrades great job thumbs up
Thanks MRB!
Great job on the upgrades! I wouldn't know which upgrade I like the most because it's all good. Good luck next Saturday!
I'm in love with the yeti score. Just waiting to get enough money up to buy it. Love what you did with this yeti. Awesome build.

Great job as always.👍

So your telling me only the frame is stock?....😂😂😂👍🏼👍🏼

hee Rich, nice upgrades. if you had to choose, would you buy the yeti or losi rock Rey?
Looks great, except for the dual stage foams.
The dual stage foams are a needed item, especially for going fast...and even crawlers are now using them to tune the ride

Dirk Verweij I’d get the wide diamond - it’s still been the best (least amount of bent axles)
@@TheRCNetwork thanks for your advice, going for the diamond axle. And maybe the wheels and tired, 👍
Wow looks simply Amazing my freind. Ive liked and subbed you my friend because I think I can learn alot from your videos well done 😁👊😁👊
Thanks Tony! Appreciate the sub!
soooo nice. love the vids
Great video. Just getting into the RC hobby and Rock Racing looks like a lot of fun. Does anyone know of Northern California places that do this?

You really know how to intimidate a guy. lol Great build!
Thanks - this build was fun!
Any reason you aren't running the Rock Rey in the U4 series? How does the more heavily modified Yeti go against the more moderately modded RR?
I've used the Yeti the whole season...don't really want to switch mid way. U4RC did start up a 2.2" Unlimited Class - mostly for illegal trucks that aren't to scale for the original classes. I'll be running the Rock Rey there to see how it does

The rear sway bar will help...I switched back to the stock version though
Wow, but I would change the motor, I personally think the Roc 412HD is slightly better, its also made do work with the RX4...
I built this as a pure race truck for U4RC, the electronics did pretty well
What parts do you need to transform the yeti score into the yeti like you have done with yours?
from my memory - The main cage from the Yeti, front bumper and front body mounts. Body mounts may be found in our SCORE parts bag. Then, of course wheels/tires and body if you want to run a body.
Woww.. wish you could build one RC for me.... ;)
am I missing something , trying to find the list of parts to make the swap from score to yeti, I know I need cage, front bumper, front body mount? anything else thanks guys
YOu'll need the cage, interior, body, body mounts, front bumper and wheels/tires
I appreciate your time !thank you
Great 👍🏻
You are the top!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Didn't you used to have the titanium upper links before? if so why the change?
Daniel Jones it was the Stainless Incision versions....I didn't like that I couldn't make adjustments on the fly....you have to remove the link to do that - plus they were bottomed out and I needed a couple more mm for toe

THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!! love the channel XD
So i guess you will never do a running video of the yeti score ?

The RCNetwork you're right but i really liked that dark blue body and wanted to see it running
Will you be running that at axialfest
Not sure....depends on the rules this year
Which shocks do you use?
Could you send me a link?
Fronts: bit.ly/3dwddeO Rears: bit.ly/39oxj7w
What is the name and or location of this track?
Steven Ziegelmeyer Cherry Valley Raceway, but it’s on private property and only used for official races - Cherry Valley, CA
@@TheRCNetwork is it like a club only track? That one is pretty far for me. Apple valley is much closer to me.
What rate springs are you running on the rear?
Stock XT springs

So double reds front and rear with 45wt oil?
20wt in the rears
Looks like all you needed from the kit was the body tub 😂😜
Probably! lol
Running video?
kyle French the race is next Saturday.....I should have footage of the race - stay tuned and subscribe!
The RCNetwork already am!!! So cool to hear back from you
can you fit a body on the yeti without the cage
It wouldn't have anything to connect to on the rear - it's part of the design. Unless you fabricate some sort of rear body mount
thanx its just the cage is over £50 and its hard to get hold of
How fast will it go
As fast as you want - but around 35-40mph as I have it equipped - but mine's more for off road racing and jumps
Man I would give any rc I have for this car...
Looks great but I don't really want to spend 1500 to 2000 bucks on a yeti thanks
I didn't build it for looks...it was built to race
