It shouldn't be such a thin line between sex sexualizing yourself and being conservative. I know hoes and thots when I see them. That's just a good looking chick that loves fashion
I try not to come down hard on the young women/girlies because in my 20's I was young, slim and stayed showing skin also. She is just going thru a phase and living her best life trust she will be fine.
As a Black woman, we are already looked upon like we are overtly promiscuous. So, going outside, being on the net, and showing parts of our bodies that only our mates/doctors should see really should be deeply considered. I understand being young & having a beautiful figure. However, when we are too revealing, trust and believe you are not going to attract a respectable mate. There is such a thing being covered up & still sexy believe it or not. LADIES, please keep all of this in mind. The 1st impression is a lasting one!!! How do you want the world to view you??'
Exactly! But I think realizing that comes with maturity. When I was younger, I thought all attention was good attention, but when you dress like that you definitely attract men who just want to sleep with you. She's young and eventually will that dressing like that won't get her far if she wants a healthy relationship.
Girl she not gone look like that forever or have that body forever. she has a bag……… you think her dressing like that gone stop her from getting a man??? A good man gone come regardless if that’s in the cards for her. Strippers get married to good men as do hoes and side chicks do. It’s been happening since the beginning of time that you can indeed turn hoes into housewives. lol soooooo what about the women who dress conservative and still have cheating, no good husbands ? 🤔
As someone who’s been assaulted and harassed in the most modest of clothing, I find it so funny when women say that dressing modest invites respectable men 😂

I'm 41 and now I have curves which I'm so happy to finally have. But growing up in the 90's I had to wear baggy men's pants cause women's pants flooded me. So to make me look feminine I'll do a tight shirt or short crop top with baggy jeans. In the summer I got the chance to wear shorts and skirts. I was skinny so I didn't get the boys. I was cheerleader and I modeled. But till this day I get the "did you play ball" questions. I say"no but I modeled". Glad to know I wasn't alone. Love your channel Chioma 🤗🩷

The key thing here is consent! When she posts things like this to be sexy, then that is an invitation to see her in that light. When she is playing basketball, she wants people to focus on her game and not her beauty. What if you delivered a PhD dissertation and the board said you look hot and said nothing about your research…
If u present your PhD wearing that little Wild N Out outfit, you're gonna get those comments or even be asked to go and change. Don't set yourself up for certain attention/comments and then cry after. Human beings are human beings. Certain things will almost always elicit a reaction from certain people. In an ideal world, noone would sexualize her but we live in the real world
I have a naturally big chest and I hate being sexualized especially since I’m not doing anything but existing the way I was born. I usually even go out of my way to wear bigger shirts bc I know the sexualization of big breast comes with society; unless I’m going out trying to look cute I most likely have on a bigger shirt. I hate that I have to do that but that’s the best way for me to feel at peace so I learned to live with it. Imo that’s what not wanting to be sexualized is; living with attribute beyond your control and not wanting the sexualization that comes with it (ie big chest, big butt, or being a woman in general.) Not saying everyone should cover up because I don’t even care to do it myself, I just do, but to oftentimes put on clothes that shows off the boobs and butt then saying you don’t like society sexualizing you is kind of hypocritical. If you like it, I love it but just be honest.
I have a big chest too. But I have the butt to match. Even at 44, I still wear baggy clothing outside because I can’t even get a cup of coffee without cat calls. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
That kitty wax video 🤢 then have the nerve to say you’re “sexualized” girl bye now everybody has seen that cat! What happened to leaving things to the imagination?
Am I the only one noticing that they r making the clothes more and more short these days. I’m not even tall I’m 5’3 close to 5’4 and it’s hard for me to even find clothes that even fit right. Especially when you have a butt the skirts will show everything. I feel bad for girls that are taller cause it’s a bigger struggle for sure
Oh yes! Everything is very small and cut to show more than necessary 🙃 as a tall girl, I don’t even bother buying certain things, I just know how it’s going to look on me .
It’s harder to find items I like now because so many fits are way more revealing than my personal style Some of the clothes look like they’ve been attacked by a big cat. And it’s been a trend for a long time It’s the fashion itself, that’s driving some of this over exposure we’re seeing
I get where the ppl in the comments are saying but you can still be sexualized while fully clothed. I haven’t wore jeans in 8 years due to my weight loss I’m pear shaped/curvy I stepped out in some jeans last week and some guy at the gas station made me feel so uncomfortable. And mind you I wasn’t showing no real skin.
I got cat called while literally wearing my man’s baggy ass clothes, with a hood on. Like men will sexualize a pinky toe if it’s their favorite color. I feel men are more comfortable approaching me when I am toned down too. I miss being hot and intimidating 😂
I’m 5’7 and I get asked the “did you play basketball in school” question too 😩 I hate it too. And the clothes situation is annoying too. Especially when it comes to scrubs.
Literally hate that question with every being in my soul. No I did not play basketball. They expect every girl that’s tall to play basketball. It’s definitely not for everyone.
I’m 5’8 and a former HS Volleyball champion and was constantly asked why don’t I model instead of playing sports and that used to annoy me like hell. I’m an athlete through and through and never had any desire in modeling and showcasing my body for the masses although I’m not knocking models who choose that path.
I always find women who wear revealing things so brave…personally, I can’t stand the hungry way people act over the female form, so I save it for the house or beach 😩
I can relate as a tall girly. It’s definitely a struggle, from proving that you don’t wanna be an athlete to not being able to walk in a store and find clothes that fit, and being bullied for your height.
Chioma it me again obsessing over your makeup lol . Girl can you give us a makeup tutorial? You should seriously consider also including beauty content because you are naturally gifted with makeup…your makeup application is clean and perfect 🤩
A reason why most clothes aren't tailored towards taller women is because the average girl or average woman isn't over a certain height. I do agree with what you were saying though. There's a difference between being sexy or keeping it cute rather than being downright overtly too sexual and out there. It's okay to tone it down at times too, there's nothing wrong with that but she does play into what she says she doesn't like. Idk
Tall men are able to find clothes yet the average height of men isn't 6 foot 4. They can also find big shoes easily. It's simply society hating women for not being their standards
You can wear what you want , but don’t complain about being sexualized if you present yourself as sexy. Be as sexy as you like , but remember people will judge you by how you dress and behave. Dress how you want to be addressed !
You’re missing the context behind the “sexualized” statement. There was AI porn with her face on it. That is what she was specifically speaking about. I work in higher education and attend homecoming games etc. a lot of the gen z girlies are wearing their shorts like that. It’s shocking to me, but it seems normal to them.
And if u keep putting out sexual content and dressing a certain way, ummm, you will keep getting the same disgusting attention. Don't set yourself up for more of that. There's a million cute and sexy outfits she could wear without showing her cheeks and her lady bits.
Exactly even if she did say that. I remember being a young woman and not wanting to be viewed as “sexy” I’m about to be 27 and decided this year I will be my sexiest… not everything is about men!
Right Chioma, she’s tryna to distance from the lesbian and masculine aspects of women basketball 🏀 but little girls 👧🏽 are looking up to Reese 👩🏽🦱🏀just keep in mind.
Exactly. I balled in school and got called gay all the time! The d word specifically. Even tho I had a bf, always did my hair, makeup, nails...and I was pear shaped (no boobies) so it really made me feel detached from my femininity.
What did Beyoncé say, “I’m not the parent, I’m not the babysitter, I don’t raise children. I think the parents should do that.” Wise words from the queen then and now
as a 6ft blk woman i used to hyper feminize myself and dress sexy. its absolutely horrible how people will masculinize and try to humiliate tall women by insisting they are trans, its a no brainer why shes doing this.
This video is missing the biggest piece of context to that “I have been sexualized” interview. Someone made deepfake p*rn of her, which she addressed on her twitter before. That’s what she was referencing in her speech, along with being threatened, berated and harassed. She didn’t focus on the sexualization, you all did. Someone can enjoy being sexy and showing off their body while also calling out people violating them by making p*rn without consent. You misquoted her then based your entire video on that misquote.
i don’t know.. she’s been doing podcasts and stuff w/ rappers and influencers.. it almost seems as if she’s pre launching her influencer era. maybe she doesn’t want to pursue basketball any longer and maybe she’s being told that this image would help her fit in w/ what’s popular now.. idk, just my thought
I think it’s an age thing. When u look good and know u look good u feel different. She’s young let her be young. She’s getting a little thick and I think she’s just feeling herself.
Dressing modestly will "lesser the chance" but will never get rid of the root problem the way yall speak in comments make men think its okay when someone is dressed like this
U can't police men's minds or the comments on the internet. If you trully don't want certain attention, just cover up. It's like leaving your doors unlocked and being shocked that the house got robbed. The crime was wrong but maybe you should have just locked the doors. We live in a fallen world. Noone is supporting bad behaviour. Just protect yourself from it as much as you can. I am not hating on that gorgeous girl. Just want her to be careful
I would normally agree on topics like this but in this case, no. Coming from a girl in the same age group as Angel, I think that she views herself as young like the rest of her peers and that she can do whatever. A lot of my peers dress like that and do similar things. When you’re young and your body changes, your body is like a new car. You wanna check out all of the bells and whistles and maybe even show it off. That’s what Angel is doing. The thing about that is that she’s not a normal 22 year old, she is kind of famous now and has her own reputation and brand to maintain. Due to my beliefs, I dress more modestly but it doesn’t give me the right to scold her for her choices. I might disagree with some of the things that she has done and said, but I am not going to judge her for it. She has her life and she has to learn everything on her own.
She cried on TV about being sexualized and then she goes and dresses like that and posts content about her cat. Don't cry about it if you're gonna set yourself up for it. And before u say, noone should sexualize anyone, this is unfortunately the real world where it 100% happens. She can dress how she likes but it comes with certain attention and she will just have to deal with it

I’m not surprised, she’s now apart of black American celebrity culture and hyper-sexuality comes with that, you get little to no attention without participating in it.
There’s some more context to the she doesn’t want to be sexualized comment, she said that after AI pxrn was made of her I don’t think it was her saying she wasn’t going to dress how she dresses
People will make every single excuse to sexualize themselves and somehow want their peers to still respect them. For some reason we still don’t understand that is not a correlating fact. I’m happy you’re touching on this topic it’s very tiresome to witness and hear others chat about if they’re not gonna be honest!
She is always flooding and wearing things too small. I don’t make much money and I am on the shorter side and top heavy so I make sure to get my clothes tailor to fit better. I have a cousin her height but she’s not only tall, she has curves and she always manage to have clothes to fit. My sister, God bless her soul, was a tall one and once she started buying her clothes, she never flooded and always stayed dressed. I have a few female cousins that are in the 6 ft club and they never flood and always look put together. I will give it that she’s young but even in my early 20’s, I wouldn’t ever wear a bodysuit or whatever that is outside. I would’ve paired the top with some pants that flow at the bottom, some cute sildes or a flat since she already has the height. Pants that flows at the bottom are cute for tall girls especially with the top she has on and her shape.
Policing women based on what they wear is the problem. She can say I don’t want to be sexualized because the issue was they were making AI CORN of her. That’s disgusting! Showing skin or not showing skin has never stopped a woman from being sexualized by piggish men unfortunately. Think of “Stud” women who often get hit on despite appearing more masculine! Like the respectablity politics have to stop. Yall make it ok for men to act a certain way because yall shame other women.
These women need to be shamed walking around in these Jezebel clothes. Let's take men out the convo and let's just have a little more respect for ourselves regardless of what men do. Defending the right to go outside with your ass and vagina showing is mad weird.
Exactly. Videos like this just perpetuate these issues. Men can have their shirts off, post sexy photos and it doesn't complicate their image. But with women we have a whole different standard.
Stop HATING!!!! There is nothing wrong with being comfortable in your skin, owning YOU! You need to love on yourself and stop being jealous of someone who fully accepts herself.

8:30 that statement was actually from earlier this year after they were eliminated from the March 2024 tournament (right before the draft). I think she was talking about the AI photos made of her. There was also an LA Times article right around that same tournament calling the LSU team, "Dirty Debutantes." Making non-consensual, fake sexual content of someone else online is what I think she was articulating. I am modest myself, so I'm definitely NOT about the sheer/revealing clothes etc., I just see that as a different conversation than the sexualization piece though.
Female volleyball players get swimsuit issue deals. Female skiers get swimsuit and modeling deals. You don't see female basketball players getting the same type of deals because they're viewed as being "butch". Angel Reese is not the mold of what we're used to for a basketball player, so folks are kinda confused as to how to feel about her. If she was a model that turned into a basketball player, we'd be impressed. But she's a basketball player than can become a model and folks are not happy about it. That makes no sense. Let this woman be great.
Angel Reese was talking about creeps making AI photos sexualizing her. This is not the same thing. She is just wearing a sexy jump suit that many people her age wear. I don't agree with this take 🤔
angel is in her 20s in her prime with a banging body. her dress sexy does not give anyone the right to sexualise her. could she dress sexy in a different way, yes, but again she's like 20 and she looks good.
If you dress with everything hanging it gives people the right to sexualize you. How do you expect people to view you or take you serious when you dressing like that ?
Have to be honest…as someone who was sexualised from a very early age, sometimes women just lean into it because how they see it is, it’s going to happen anyway, so let me get ahead of it kind of thing Like let me own it and not feel shamed by being sexualised They’re going to do it if you’re in a full length coat, bikini, whatever. I would love us to go back to the 90's aesthetics. We were covering up most of our body and were still sexy. We have to realize how the media shapes our reality. Keeping our image respectable should be required
Women in the 90’s were so fine it was unreal. The clothes, hair, makeup, all gorgeous I think keeping a respectable image is important, though I still understand how some women could feel like rebelling against that, even if it’s misguided because like Chioma said, once those images are out there, you can’t take them back.
Idk if im missing something but she mentioned a bunch of things in that post game conference clip, she also just said “ive been sexualized” not “dont sexualize me” and again it literally one of things she said in the clip, you also pointed out it was two years ago maybe she changed and is growing into her sexuality, shes literally only 22.
Girl this hair is everything!!!! ❤

I think it’s an age thing. When u look good and know u look good u feel different. She’s young let her be young. She’s getting a little thick and I think she’s just feeling herself.

Dressing modestly will "lesser the chance" but will never get rid of the root problem the way yall speak in comments make men think its okay when someone is dressed like this
Yeah but dressing less will make it worse anyways

She’s rich enough to buy clothes that fit‼️
People still equate “sexy” with the gaze of a man in mind.
Women in the 90’s were so fine it was unreal. The clothes, hair, makeup, all gorgeous
I think keeping a respectable image is important, though I still understand how some women could feel like rebelling against that, even if it’s misguided because like Chioma said, once those images are out there, you can’t take them back.
Absolutely
Yessss 90s had it going on 😻
Coochie cutters were def a thing in the 90s!
Trust me when i say this......men know the difference between masculine women and feminine women. Dressing provocative doesn't help. Trust
Nooooo! Not the wax! 😳 Social media is rotting away common sense, common decency, couth, etc. Why would she post that????!!! Ew!
There’s a difference between embracing your OWN sensually versus others forcing sexuality ON u
You said to be fair you looked for other clips of her dressing “sexualizing” herself but then ran with one piece of one clop from the post game conference to make a 15 minute video lol
that's what people do now a days to get clicks and views they don't actually read and research
The fact that I got an Angel Soft Ad commercial during the wax portion of the video is wild lol!
Angel knows EXACTLY what she’s doing. She wants this attention, and gets more of it by acting like she don’t want it.
boy bye how do u know she wants that attention yall niggas will sexaulize a damn cat cuz yall do the same thing to kids bffr
Listen here glocktavious u have a whole ski mask on and your username speaks volumes so sit this one out plz
u follow niggas who rap about women bodies bffr
@@LeeLee_Diamond u hurt moe? Who sent u? And what does ur double Dutch team member turnt stripper 🫏 UA-cam name display??? Find someone safer to play with ma’am.
@@LeeLee_Diamond sounding and looking like a damn predator
I find it pretty interesting that most people don’t know that female victims of SA, tend to be the ones dressed ‘modestly’
Apparently, they come across as more ‘passive and submissive’ to a predator
Isn’t it funny how in society, people tend to think it’s the opposite?
God bless her .. I believe she is feeling herself and it’s nothing wrong with having confidence but us women should dress more modest and not reveal much. Keep it classy clean and cute ❤
I'm 5'7 but I stand tall and my body is 75% legs and my arm wing span is 6'1 lol so I present way taller than 5'7 especially in shoes with any heel 😭. I'm glad the tall girlies are in now tho cuz back in the early 2000s it was rough lol ❤️. As a basketball player in HS I do understand trying to overly feminize yourself when you're not playing, I did it as well and back then, the clothes really didn't fit us long legged girls so all my shorts looked like booty shorts and finding long sleeves that went to my wrist was challenging, I find better option today then back then but it's still hard. Angela will eventually find a balance as she gets older
I’m built the exact same way 😭
@@bugsbunni4200 😩😂🙏🏾 you know the struggle!!! My tribe! Lol
Chioma , the hair is hairing OKAY lol !! Looking Good Per Usual 😍
I clicked asf when I seen a new video😂
When the comments were mentioning kitty wax I thought you meant like Brazilian wax strips. I had to skip that, almost threw up 🤮 tf
Me too 🤮
tf is kitty wax?? if it doesn't mean brazilian wax
@@choclitgal unfortunately it doesn’t, keep watching the video. If I had to see it you gotta see it too
@@tta1390 i seen it 😭😭😭🥲
I need to know where you got this hair Chioma! I love it!
The wax strip thing was GROSSSSS 🤮🤮🤮
She’s not wearing anything that her age mates don’t wear, but because she’s in the public eye and her profession is meant to put her in a box, she gets dragged. I’m in an impressively diverse university and white, black, Asian, hispanic, almost every young turnt girl her age dresses like this. And there’s no assumptions that can be made about it, because everyone just does it to do it. Y’all need to lay off her honestly
And going anywhere but to a club or party in an outfit like that is disgusting.
What? She was crying about being sexualized and she showed us her vagina.
She showed us her print.
Exactly, her profession requires more, she’s basically came out in pajamas. Idk. Setting boundaries and standards is ok - professionally and socially.
Fr, and tbh I have definitely seen worse than that on tv and nobody has this much outrage, even the girls in the back of the video are also wearing some short shorts
