I just started medication today for the first time in my life, feeling great and productive and done a lot in a single day, not sure if it's all the meds or placebo effect, but it's been awesome so far.
Nice video! I've been recently diagnosed with ADHD, and I can feel your pain. The only difference is that I've always used to shy away from people, since I couldn't easily keep up with a topic or a extended conversation. I always thought of myself as a Introvert, but it turns out I'm a Ambivert. My sister, on the other hand, was just like you. It was pretty hard for her to study, or to even talk with her friends. Anyway, I'm sending you some good vibes from Brazil! 😁👍
thank you sm for your comment!! it's so interesting how much adhd can influence our image of ourselves... Also rlly interesting how it shows itself in such different ways! Thanks for the vibes!! Im sending good vibes right back at you from the Netherlands hehe
I absolutely love the chaotic ADHD energy of this video (I'm currently being diagnosed as well :) Is your ADHD the combined type or one of the other ones?
In what I’ve read what you want to happen will be easier to achieve. If you want to clean, you can clean. If you want to sit and chill with no thoughts you can do that. It isn’t magic motivation, but if you already want something it just makes it more achievable. I’ve been living in rubbish for months now and now I’m medicated I can prioritise getting it sorted!!! It’s great so far! Day 1
I'm so happy you already feel the effects of the medication! After taking it for a little bit I totally understand what you mean when it comes to their effects. I also joke around with my adhd friends that I know my meds are working when I'm suddenly able to clean my room whahaha
Please have a great communication with your provider. Communication is key. It is a process on getting on the right dosage. That's why being honest with your provider is crucial. I was diagnosed two years ago and it took about 9 months to get on the right dose. Also, sleeping and eating is important. Exercising is also important. Being on medication helps you be more aware of your health. Well at least for me.
I agree, thought i found the right meds for 3 years now but i found another way better option. I’m glad i was open to new medicine cause it turned out it works the best for me
I'm glad you got medication after 3 weeks of getting a diagnoses. Where I live, healthcare is very slow and I finally got medication after 2 years of my medication
I have a feeling this will be the first comment like mine but my problem isn't so much lack of concentration but more conversational energy that tends to annoy others and cutting people off mid-conversation to get my thoughts out before I forget.
I just started medication today for the first time in my life!! it's only been 15 minutes since i took it, so i cant really say anything about my experience, but im starting my journal to keep track of everything until my next dr visit.
Omg girrrlll I can relate soooo freaaakingg much!!! love the energy!! All over the placee (like me woohoee) I was diagnosed today, they gave me medication under supervision while a had to do a lot of test again. The organisation which diagnosed me did that so they can compair my results with and without medication. Fun fact... the difference was HUGEEEEEE lol. They were very very sure that I have ADHD...... anywayyyyy my head was very in peace, very quiet, very slow.... at first it felt weird, but it was kinda nice that I didnt have thoughts that went 1903289462946 miles/second. I took them at 14:00. At 2100 they were 100000% out of my system (around 17;00 I already felt the effects slipping tho..) anywayy my energyy got UPPPPPP. I feel like the difference is so huge that my normal level of energy and impulsivity is 104628362846 times worse now...... Like you sad; rebound effect.... Now I can't sleep and I am seaching for ppl who will make me feel like this is normal.... Tomorrow start using fulltime for at least 2 weeks soooo we will see what happensssss. Loved your video, made me feel less weird hehehe. oh and btw; connected a few of my ADHD friend who use meds; this is normal xoxoxo
hii, I'm so sorry for the late response, but your comment made me smile! Taking the medication for the first few times and noticing the difference is so intense tbh... And I heavily relate to the feeling of your symptoms getting worse when your meds don't work anymore / when you don't take them, I guess it's part of the journey hehe. I hope you are enjoying your medication and all is going well!
Omg your reason for not having a drivers license is my reason too… love it✨ I got diagnosed today after years of putting it off. thinking of trying medication as well 💪
whahahah twinning lol! I hope getting your diagnoses brought you some relief / validation! Meds can definitely be great, I would defo advice you to give them a shot, but I can also totally understand that you might have some reservations
I’ve been thinking about taking adhd medicine. My parents were severely against the medication when I was diagnosed as a kid. But I don’t want to randomly have the need & unconsciously stand up during dinner any more, among other things. Been nervous that it will change me? Thanks for the video.
Thank you for your comment! I totally get the fear that your medication will change you, but when you take the right dose that should not happen... When it comes to myself I can tell when I'm on meds vs when I'm not, but I wouldn't say it truly changes me... Maybe you can give meds a shot to find out whether they work for you
Also make sure that if you do starts meds and don’t like how you feel on them to tell your doctor. Took me 4 years and now I finally have meds that don’t “tone me down” but still help with basic things :)
lmao i love your personality and humor and so relate 😂 took ritalin for the first time today and this gave me some comfort/reduced my anxiety with taking it thanks friend :)
Hi there, you can only feel a difference after a few days and was even nephew the first time I take my Retalin. ps the pill should also make one relaxed and tired but one who does not have adhd will speed up Greetings from Robin in Denmark.
my doctor said the affects r instant but the side effects go away after like a weekZ also it can make one relaxed but it’s different for person to person some people get energy some get calm,
I took my meds for the first time today to I exactly know what you mean with drowsy in the head xd And i did experience rebound but in the way that i really realized how fast i forget things and how hard it was to regain focus once i lost it (I directly started of with 10mg)
I’ve just taken methylphenidate today for the first time I’m 40 years old and not sure what it did either not really had any side effects today so fingers crossed no headaches or anything
meds can definitely interfere with sleeping! I don't know whether you take short working meds or the ones that work the entire day, but I would suggest not taking your meds too late + taking melatonin at night! These things have rlly helped me, maybe they can help you as well
awww that is not nice!! I experience it too, like a soft feeling of sadness that just lingers, it is rlly annoying!! Maybe you can talk to your medication provider about it and try an alternative that doesn't make you feel liike this? I can imagine it can be very frustrating! If you ever want to talk about it, just hit me up!!
You have 2 doses a day? Isn't it just once a day in the morning? It is for me at least. I take 40mg in the morning and it works throughout the day You can actually drive with caution, if not how would we go to work.
There’s 2 types of medication! Long release (what you take) and short release! Short release only really lasts for a few hours so you have to take them multiple times a day. My medication will eventually be 3 times a day at 4 hour intervals!
@@rosinecarail2420Hi Rosine, I also take Medikinet and it's quite rare to find someone else who has. I'm not sure if this is a common side effect, but have you experienced any libido increase on it?
Hi!! This was only 5mg, but I upped my dose to 10mg now. However, what works for everyone is different, there isn't one set dose that works for everyone. Maybe you should talk to your medication provider to up your dose!
This is my first week on Ritalin 10mg twice a day (Medikinet in EU), and the journey is wild! First two days were incredible. I felt just like I used to feel whenever I felt very good unmedicated (but still with ADHD symptoms affecting my life), but the 3rd day was rough and I had no idea what had gone wrong. While my symptoms were 50/50 alleviated, I was depressiously anxious, agitated and worried, no motivation but still could focus and do things. On day 5 I've upped the dose by 5mg, and it is much better. I guess it will be a trial and error until the desired optimal effect where I feel good and stable and my ADHD symptoms are alleviated. So far the meds have been an absolute life changer.
I just started my meds today and drove my girlfriends car but where I parked now I am worried to drive back lol. I’m very carful when driving situations occur and I now don’t think I should drive back home even tho I feel a whole lot better lol
I actually don't know... Maybe it could improve your focus which in return could improve your football perfomance, but ritalin works different for everyone, so I wouldn't actually know...
whahaha oeps...
this is the perfect video and exactly what i was looking for. not those videos where they just stand in front of a camera doing nothing. also woon je in nederland?
Every now and again I'll see a woman somewhere and think "damn I wish I knew this person so I could ask her out" . We could take ritaline together and have 5 kids with ADHD 😂. Sorry, not long started my medication and suddenly think I'm funny.

I'm so happy to hear that your medication helps you! And placebo or not, it does help you, so I would consider it a win whhahahah
You do feel it the first day a lot stronger than you usually would 😊 the good thing is that side effects also balance out after a while
Nice video!

Watching along with you after taking my firsts dose!!! I cried from the relief. Cleaning my fridge currently ❤️
what meds are you on? glad you feel better!
awww your comment made me tear up... Thank you so much!! I know I'm a little late with responding, but I hope cleaning your fridge worked out
I absolutely love the chaotic ADHD energy of this video (I'm currently being diagnosed as well :) Is your ADHD the combined type or one of the other ones?
With plants no it's not an obsession, most people with adhd do better in nature so it's ingrained to gravitate towards plants.
oooo i did not know about that!! That is actually so interesting
I cleaned my room for the first time in a year and a half..(other than always changing and washing my bed sheets).
